Situated in the southeastern part of San Diego County, Potrero is known for its scenic landscapes and proximity to the Cleveland National Forest. Campers can expect a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, away from the noise and congestion of urban areas. The campground itself is described as a "nice park" by one reviewer, suggesting well-maintained grounds and a pleasant overall environment. The presence of areas for hiking indicates that visitors can immerse themselves in the natural surroundings and explore the local terrain. Potrero Campground caters to a variety of camping preferences. For those with tents and travel trailers, the campground offers suitable sites. While direct sewer hookups are not available, the presence of a dump station is a significant convenience for RV travelers, allowing for longer stays without needing to leave the park for waste disposal. The features of Potrero Campground extend beyond basic camping amenities. The inclusion of hiking trails is a major draw for outdoor enthusiasts, offering opportunities to explore the natural beauty of the area and get some exercise. The friendly staff further enhances the welcoming atmosphere.

Potrero Campground Reviews
We just stayed here and fell in love with it. We are avid campers, both tents and travel trailers. They have a nice park, the wellness trail was a plus, and there are areas to hike. There are no direct sewer hookups but there is a dump station. The ladies working at the check-in were friendly. We will definitely be returning. It’s a nice place to connect with the outdoors.
Feb 17, 2025 · Corina SchultzWe had a wonderful time at this campground. It was very quiet and peaceful. There are a few trails, a playground for the kids, and restrooms 5 located. It is located in an isolated area, and 5 towns are 30 minutes away. Tecate, Mexico is also very close if you want to visit. It was very cold in the evening, we stayed in a cabin. I plan to return in the summer. I highly recommend it.
Mar 09, 2025 · Maria MagallonBesides the rain, the campout was very clean and nice. The kids had fun on the playground and the fitness machines nearby. The nature hike was clean and pretty too.
May 04, 2025 · Bowen CookBeautiful little campground! Quiet and conveniently located (we were on our way to San Diego).
Mar 28, 2025 · C BGreat campground. No sewer hookups though. They do have a dump station.Note: If you have a long rig, say over 35 feet, I highly recommend getting to the campground via the 8 fwy, getting off at Buckhorn, or something like that, and staying on that road until you hit the 94. Less of the winding and narrow roads.
