For local users searching for "camping near me" with convenient access to both Boston and Cape Cod, the Boston / Cape Cod KOA Holiday, located at 438 Plymouth St, Middleborough, MA 02346, USA, presents itself as a potential option. You can reach them at (800) 562-3046 or +1 800-562-3046 for inquiries and reservations. Based on the limited recent customer reviews available, experiences at this KOA appear to be somewhat varied, with strong positive feedback regarding the new management and staff contrasted by concerns about the cleanliness of facilities and water temperature.
The environment of the Boston / Cape Cod KOA Holiday is strategically positioned in Middleborough, Massachusetts, aiming to offer a central location for those wishing to explore both the historical sites of Boston and the scenic beauty of Cape Cod. While the immediate surroundings of the campground aren't extensively described in the provided reviews, its location suggests a balance between accessibility to urban and coastal areas. This could be appealing for travelers looking for a basecamp from which to take day trips to these well-known Massachusetts destinations. However, one review does note that the campground is "not very close to Boston," which might be a consideration for those primarily focused on visiting the city. The KOA designation often implies a certain level of maintained grounds and organized layout, contributing to a structured camping environment.
In terms of services, one positive review highlights a "PHENOMENAL stay" under new management and staff. This guest specifically praised Monica in the office for her wonderful smile, friendly personality, and attentiveness. The staff overall were described as inviting. A notable instance of exceptional service was Monica going above and beyond to assist a guest and their husband when they were locked out of their car, even calling her husband to help open it. This suggests a strong commitment to customer care under the current management. On the other hand, a contrasting review raised concerns about the cleanliness of the bathrooms, stating they didn't appear to have been cleaned during the reviewer's stay. This same reviewer also reported experiencing a cold shower one night due to a lack of hot water. As a KOA Holiday, it's reasonable to expect a range of amenities, which might typically include RV hookups, tent sites, possibly cabin rentals, laundry facilities, and recreational areas, though these are not detailed in the provided reviews. The discrepancy in the feedback regarding cleanliness and basic utilities like hot water suggests potential inconsistencies in the service provided.
The features of Boston / Cape Cod KOA Holiday can be inferred to some extent from its KOA branding and the limited reviews. The positive review emphasizes the friendly and helpful new management and staff, particularly Monica. The willingness of staff to go the extra mile, as in the car lockout incident, is a significant positive feature. However, the negative review points to potential issues with the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the reliability of hot water for showers. As a KOA Holiday, the campground likely offers a variety of camping options, potentially including RV sites with hookups, tent camping areas, and possibly cabins or other lodging. KOA campgrounds often feature amenities like restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, and recreational areas such as playgrounds or pools, though the presence and condition of all these at this specific location are not fully clear from the provided information. The location's proximity to both Boston and Cape Cod, despite one reviewer noting it's not very close to Boston, can also be considered a feature for those wanting to explore both regions.
The positive review acts as a strong piece of promotional information, highlighting the phenomenal experience with the new management and staff, emphasizing their friendliness and helpfulness. The anecdote about the car lockout assistance is a powerful testament to their commitment to guest satisfaction. This positive feedback suggests that under the new leadership, the campground aims to provide excellent customer service. Conversely, the negative review serves as a cautionary note, indicating potential issues with the cleanliness of facilities and the availability of hot water, which could deter some potential visitors. Therefore, while the positive review promotes a welcoming and helpful atmosphere, the negative review suggests areas that might need improvement.
To provide an objective perspective, the Boston / Cape Cod KOA Holiday appears to be in a location that could serve as a base for exploring both Boston and Cape Cod, although one reviewer felt it wasn't very close to Boston. The new management and staff have received high praise for their friendliness and helpfulness, with at least one instance of exceptional customer service. However, there are also concerns raised about the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the reliability of hot water. Potential guests should weigh these contrasting experiences when considering this campground for their "camping near me" needs. Further, information on the specific amenities and types of camping available at this KOA would be beneficial for a comprehensive evaluation.
For local users searching for "camping near me" with access to both Boston and Cape Cod, the Boston / Cape Cod KOA Holiday presents a mixed picture based on the limited reviews. The positive feedback regarding the new management's hospitality is encouraging, suggesting a welcoming and supportive environment. However, the reported issues with bathroom cleanliness and hot water are significant factors to consider. If excellent customer service is a top priority, this KOA might be appealing. However, if consistently clean facilities and reliable utilities are paramount, further investigation or recent feedback from other sources might be warranted before making a decision.
In conclusion, the Boston / Cape Cod KOA Holiday in Middleborough, MA, offers a location that could be convenient for exploring both major areas of Massachusetts. The new management and staff have received accolades for their friendliness and helpfulness. However, there are contrasting reports concerning the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the availability of hot water. If you are looking for "camping near me" in this region, it would be wise to take these differing experiences into account and perhaps seek more recent reviews to get a fuller understanding of the current state of the campground. Contact them at (800) 562-3046 to inquire further about their facilities and services.

Boston / Cape Cod KOA Holiday Reviews
My family and I have been camping at this KOA location for over 5 years and this is the first year we met the new management and staff. We had a PHENOMENAL stay!! We first met Monica who greeted us in the office with a wonderful smile and friendly personality. The staff were all attentive and inviting. Monica truly went above and beyond to assist me and my husband when we locked ourselves out of the car!! She called her husband immediately and he was able to open the car for us! Absolutely favorite campground in the area!!
May 02, 2025 · Jade JohnsThe bathrooms were dirty. I don’t think they were cleaned the whole time I was there. One night I had a cold shower, no hot water. Not very close to Boston.
Apr 28, 2025 · chulaluna8We had a wonderful stay! Very clean and peaceful campground. If your in the back half it is a little ways from the bathrooms but you trade that for more quiet which is what we love. Although we did not partake seems like they have family activities. Was attentive to concerns. All around a great place to camp!
Sep 15, 2024 · Trina GreeneI’m definitely not a fan of camping but KOA has changed my mind. The grounds are well kept, loads of stuff for the kids to do, not one boring day was had. The staff are extremely attentive and super friendly!! Trick or treating was a hit, piles of candy and tons of smiles. The haunted trail was just that, haunted and frightful. Looking forward to many more adventures!
Oct 13, 2024 · Jen Bransfield MylettCheck in was easy and fast. The actual location of the campground is nice. Close to a mill there is a Hannaford about 8 minute drive away. We were given Cabin#1 it would be nice to have had a choice of cabin as this one is very close to the entrance which is on a busy road.so we didn't get a camp type vibe like we wanted. You could hear traffic all night long and all the vehicles driving in and out of the campground. The Cabin had a mini fridge and AC so it was comfortable. It has been swept clean but not moped or wiped down. There was a bit of a urine smell throughout. The Pool was nice- it opens at 10am for kids- had wished it opened a little earlier since there is no pond or beach at the campground. The bathrooms next to the pool which were closest to our cabin were very dirty. Pool says to shower first but there is no outdoor shower to rinse off in. The kids had fun on the jumping pad and playground. There was a cute K-9 park but it needed to be mowed. The site had a grill which was convenient. We accidentally left our cast iron cooking griddle on the grill. We called right after we left and left a message saying we'd come back the next day to pick it up. No one called us back- when we drove back the next morning to retrieve it we were told that the person who cleaned the grill must of had "sticky fingers" and stole our griddle. Disappointing that employees couldn't be honest and would just take items.
