Boulder Point Campground Introduce
For local users seeking a tranquil and well-regarded "camping near me" experience, Boulder Point Campground, located at 252 Sinsabaugh Rd, Pine Bush, NY 12566, offers a compelling option. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground stands out for its peaceful atmosphere, friendly staff, clean facilities, and convenient location for those escaping the New York City area. If you're searching for "campgrounds near me" that prioritize a quiet environment and access to nature, Boulder Point Campground is definitely worth considering.
One group of campers who visited during Memorial Day Weekend, seeking refuge from the NYC quarantine, described their time at Boulder Point as "fantastic." They highlighted the campground's advantageous location, noting that it is "Really close to the city, which made it really easy to get to and at the same time, far away from it all." This is a significant benefit for local users in the NYC metropolitan area looking for a quick and easy escape into nature without a long drive. The review also praised the natural beauty of the area, mentioning that "The woods and open areas are really beautiful," suggesting a scenic environment for camping and outdoor activities.
A unique feature of Boulder Point Campground, according to this reviewer, is that "There are no RVs, which makes the night really quiet (no lights, no motor noise)." This is a major draw for tent campers seeking a more traditional and serene camping experience, free from the noise and bright lights often associated with RV parks. For local users prioritizing peace and quiet during their "camping near me" trip, this policy is a significant advantage.
The staff at Boulder Point Campground also received high praise, described as "Friendly and chilled." This suggests a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where campers can feel comfortable and at ease. The reviewer also mentioned interactions with the owner, noting that it was "very easy to communicate" with them, indicating good management and accessibility. Additionally, the presence of "friendly... dogs, who stopped by (maybe a tad too often, especially the dogs) and asked if you needed anything," adds a unique, albeit potentially slightly intrusive for some, element to the campground's charm. However, the overall impression is one of a welcoming and attentive staff.
For those interested in exploring the surrounding area, Boulder Point Campground is conveniently "Close to very nice hikes," making it an excellent base for local users who enjoy outdoor adventures and exploring nature trails as part of their "camping near me" experience. The availability of a "very convenient ice machine" is also a practical amenity appreciated by campers, especially during warmer months.
The campsites themselves are well-equipped, with the reviewer noting "comfy tables and chairs at each site." This thoughtful provision enhances the camping experience by providing comfortable places to eat, relax, and socialize. The fact that this group was already planning their next visit is a strong testament to their positive experience at Boulder Point Campground.
Another group of seven people also "Really enjoyed" their stay at Boulder Point. They specifically commended "Kayla (sorry if spelling is not correct) at the front desk" for being "really lovely and helpful!" This further reinforces the positive feedback regarding the campground staff and their commitment to guest satisfaction. The presence of "a small campstore with firewood, fire starter, coffee, snacks, etc." adds convenience for campers who may have forgotten essential items or wish to purchase refreshments on-site.
The availability of "A few single person public bathrooms w/shower for the campground" is a crucial amenity, and this reviewer noted that the "Bathrooms were new and clean," which is a significant factor for overall comfort and hygiene during a camping trip. For local users who value clean and well-maintained facilities when choosing a "campground near me," this is a notable positive aspect of Boulder Point.
The reviewer also pointed out that "The campsites were different sizes, so its best to call and ask which might be best to accommodate your group...ie I don't think our three tents would have fit on one of the smaller sites." This practical advice is valuable for local users planning group camping trips. It highlights the importance of direct communication with the campground staff to ensure that the chosen campsite can comfortably accommodate the size of their party and equipment. Each site is equipped with "a small grill, picnic table, firepit and two chairs," providing essential amenities for cooking, dining, and enjoying campfires.
A significant advantage mentioned by this reviewer was that "It was really pleasant that the campground wasn't crowded." This aligns with the earlier review's point about the absence of RVs contributing to a quieter atmosphere and suggests that Boulder Point Campground maintains a more intimate and less congested environment compared to some larger campgrounds. For local users seeking a more secluded and peaceful "camping near me" experience, this is a major benefit.
The reviewer did note that Boulder Point was "the priciest campground I've ever been to," but they also justified their choice by stating that "the public campgrounds nearby had poor reviews" and that their group was "all happy with our choice and enjoyed the stay!" This suggests that while Boulder Point might be a bit more expensive, the quality of the experience, including the quiet atmosphere, clean facilities, and friendly service, justifies the cost for those seeking a reliable and enjoyable "camping near me" option.
Based on the information available in these reviews, Boulder Point Campground offers a unique and positive camping experience for local users, particularly those seeking a peaceful tent camping environment close to nature and within easy reach of the NYC area. The friendly and helpful staff, clean and new bathrooms, well-equipped campsites, and proximity to hiking trails are significant advantages. The absence of RVs contributes to a quiet and less crowded atmosphere. While it might be on the pricier side, the positive reviews suggest that the quality and overall experience justify the cost for many campers.

Boulder Point Campground Reviews
We Camped at Boulder Point during Memorial Day Weekend. We were a large group escaping the NYC quarantine and we really had a fantastic time. Really close to the city, which made it really easy to get to and at the same time, far away from it all. The woods and open areas are really beautiful. There are no RVs, which makes the night really quiet (no lights, no motor noise). Friendly and chilled campground staff and dogs, who stopped by (maybe a tad too often, especially the dogs) and asked if you needed anything. It was very easy to communicate with the owner. Close to very nice hikes and with a very convenient ice machine! There were comfy tables and chairs at each site. We are already planning our next visit!

Jun 13, 2021 · Maral MMy friends and I had a great long weekend stay camping at Boulder Point Campground. Each campsite has a grill, fire ring, and table. Plenty of space for our two tents and hammocks for the group of four. The restrooms were cleaned each morning and well stocked. Richard kindly brought firewood over to our campsite since we were out too late. Everyone in the campgrounds were very kind or kept to themselves. The location of the site was in good proximity to some trails that we were looking forward to hike and it was an overall great experience!
Sep 05, 2024 · Megan EGreat camp ground. Been here for days. I love the new bathrooms, so clean and nice. The campground attendant is a sweet heart. The free ice was awesome. It was quiet and beautiful.
Aug 25, 2022 · Joseph SpotoNot a horrible place. Decent little campground. Incredibly overpriced. Very little space and everyone is on top of each other practically no privacy. Not worth the money. There are many other campgrounds locally id throw a dart at a map and try any random one before I ever came back.
