Based on the available customer reviews, this park offers a unique environment characterized by natural beauty and a range of amenities catering to various traveler preferences.
The environment of Buffalo Bayou RV Park is consistently praised for its scenic charm. Reviewers highlight the "beautiful" setting, particularly the presence of "cypress trees and Spanish moss blowing in the breeze." This imagery evokes a classic Southern landscape, offering a picturesque and relaxing backdrop for your stay. The park's location "off the beaten path" is also noted as a significant advantage for those seeking peace and quiet, a welcome departure from the noise often associated with being near main roads. Guests can expect a serene atmosphere, with one reviewer mentioning enjoying "great sleep" accompanied by the distant sound of a train whistle, adding to the peaceful ambiance. The presence of "huge pine & oak trees" further enhances the natural beauty of the park, providing shade and a sense of being immersed in nature.
Buffalo Bayou RV Park offers a variety of accommodation options to suit different needs. Primarily catering to RV travelers, the park provides both "pull-thrus" and "back ins" for recreational vehicles. Importantly, some of these sites are located "along Big Cypress bayou," offering potentially scenic waterfront views and easy access to the water. Beyond RV sites, the park also accommodates tent camping for those who prefer a more traditional outdoor experience. Additionally, for those seeking a more structured lodging option, Buffalo Bayou RV Park features a "cabin you can rent," providing a comfortable alternative to RV or tent camping.
The services and amenities at Buffalo Bayou RV Park are designed to enhance the guest experience. The availability of a "shower and bathroom you can use" ensures basic comfort and convenience for all types of campers. A significant feature for outdoor enthusiasts is the presence of "a place to launch your boat," making this park an excellent choice for those looking to explore Big Cypress bayou by water. Fishing is also highlighted as a popular activity, with one reviewer specifically recommending the park for those who "can fish." The park's pet-friendly policy is another notable feature, welcoming travelers with their furry companions.
The owners of Buffalo Bayou RV Park are described as "very nice and accommodating," contributing to a positive and welcoming atmosphere. The park also fosters a sense of community, with one reviewer mentioning the opportunity to "meet nice folks." This suggests a friendly and sociable environment where guests can connect with one another.
While the park's location offers tranquility, it's also conveniently situated within a reasonable distance of local attractions and amenities. Buffalo Bayou RV Park is reported to be "6 miles from Jefferson," a town known for its antiques and rich history. The proximity to Jefferson provides guests with opportunities for shopping, exploring historical sites, and accessing essential services, including a Brookshire's grocery store.
It's important to note some of the potential limitations mentioned in the reviews. One guest reported that their "satellite didn’t work," although they were able to receive "27 digital local channels over the air." This suggests that satellite reception might be challenging at some sites, possibly due to the surrounding trees, but over-the-air television is an alternative. Another point to consider is that "cell service is weak & slow." While one reviewer stated they "did fine without it," this could be a factor for those who rely heavily on mobile internet or phone communication. However, for those seeking a true escape and willing to disconnect, this might be seen as a benefit rather than a drawback.

Its stunning natural environment along Big Cypress bayou, coupled with its pet-friendly policy, boat launch, and diverse accommodation options including RV sites, tent camping, and a cabin, make it an attractive choice for a variety of travelers. The friendly owners and the opportunity to connect with nature and fellow travelers further enhance its appeal. While potential limitations such as weak cell service and possible satellite reception issues should be considered, the overall positive feedback emphasizes the park's tranquility and natural beauty, making it a worthwhile destination for those seeking a relaxing and enjoyable RV or camping experience in East Texas.

Buffalo Bayou RV Park Reviews
Owners are very nice and accommodating. The park is beautiful with all the cypress trees and Spanish moss blowing in the breeze. Pet friendly and have a place to launch your boat. You can take your own rv, they have a place for tents and they also have a cabin you can rent. There is a shower and bathroom you can use.
Apr 22, 2025 · aron brooksIf you are looking for a great RV park where you can fish, & be off the beaten path, & meet nice folks, please try this RV park. Yes, it is back off the main road, but I was tired of not sleeping due to road noise. I got great sleep there, with a distant train whistle in the background. They have pull-thrus, & back ins, some along Big Cypress bayou, & good price. Loved hearing new birds & relaxing among the huge pine & oak trees. Our satellite didn’t work, but we were able to get 27 digital local channels over the air. It is 6 miles from Jefferson, to a brookshires, antiques & lots of history. Cell service is weak & slow, but we did fine without it!
Apr 09, 2024 · Karen Vander MolenVery quiet and peaceful rv park with great shade and fishing. The owners are really nice. I live in my rv traveling for work full time, and this place is better than expected.
Sep 07, 2024 · ray youngAmazing RV park with a nice little boat ramp, great for the simple kayaking anglers to the bass boat ready to make waves. The RV lots are spacious; plenty of leg room, throw a game of washers, to a hop skip and jump to drop a lure for a little cat fishing! The owners are very welcoming, giving each guest the feeling of seeing a long time friend. If you are looking for a nice get-away with out having to travel miles and miles, come to Buffalo Bayou RV Park.
