Buckhorne Country Store and Campground Reviews
Arrived on Memorial Day 2024 and stayed til beginning of August 2024. We travel all over the US in our 40’ TT with our 3 fur babies. I highly recommend Buckhorne Campground whether it’s for a short vacation stay or just passing through and need a safe and quiet place for a night. They do have monthly rates for those who travel for work and need more than a couple of weeks at a time. The staff is super helpful, friendly and knowledgeable, especially Heidi!! The best ice cream in the area too! They have a super cute country store with a small kitchen area to order hot pizza and wings and a hair salon on the side of the store, Amber’s Salon services are amazing and she’s great at what she does! You are safe to trust her for haircuts, trims and color! Bathroom/Showers are very clean as well as the grounds. They take pride in what they do and in the property to make sure you are safe and happy! The Creek across the street is nice, you have to walk down the road just a little to walk down to the creek but it’s so worth it to enjoy the sounds of the water flowing through the rocks and the beautiful views! Again, I highly recommend this campground for anyone looking for a safe and quiet place to be and enjoy mountain vibes! We hope to make it back that way one day! Amanda & James
Aug 05, 2024 · Amanda HardingAn excellent place to relax, kick back and chill. It has the feel of being deeper in the mountains despite being only about 4 miles from a Krogers or about 2 miles from fuel next to the interstate 64. They have Hunts pizza and/or the best ice cream bar i seen in a long time. Doordash does reach here. The staff are courteous and will do what they can to make your stay pleasent.
Jul 06, 2024 · Tom SneadVery lovely people. Friendly and will do what it takes to make your visit enjoyable. They didn't have the spicy wings so the owner brought several different hot sauces from their home to sample. That's special! Unique atmosphere with many different flavors of ice cream and sherbet to top off your visit or just come for a taste. Loved it.
Sep 26, 2021 · Deborah Lovelace-EngelThis campground is easy to get to, clean and the staff are very friendly. We went camping here in a tent for 3 nights. Our site had electricity and free wifi. We are normally deep woods, secluded site campers with no amenities so it was a nice perk to have electricity. It was a bit uncomfortable for us to be so close to the RV'ers (and I mean the nice man in his trailer had his door open and a perfect view of us and our campsite! - That is odd for us!) It is a small campground but relatively quite. Will stay here again if we come back to the area.
Sep 15, 2023 · Calie M.Locally owned by a great family, Mr. Allen was my high school English teacher and he loved his job and students. He never forgets a face! The staff is courteous, the food is great and top it off with delicious ice cream on the cozy front porch!! A must stop on your journey through the beautiful park ahead!!
