Situated near the charming town of Bandon, this state park campground is known for its beautiful views, spacious campsites, and access to the natural wonders of the Oregon coastline. Reviews from recent visitors provide valuable insights into the environment, services, and features of Bullards Beach State Park Campground, offering a comprehensive picture for prospective campers.
The environment surrounding Bullards Beach State Park Campground is characterized by the stunning beauty of the southern Oregon coast. Bandon is renowned for its dramatic sea stacks, sandy beaches, and the Coquille River. As a state park campground in this area, Bullards Beach likely offers easy access to these coastal features. Campers can expect scenic views of the Pacific Ocean, opportunities for beachcombing, and the potential to explore the mouth of the Coquille River. The vegetation in the area is typical of the Pacific Northwest coast, with lush greenery, including coniferous trees and coastal shrubs. The climate is maritime, characterized by mild temperatures, frequent rainfall (especially outside of the summer months), and occasional strong winds. The review mentioning it "gets a little wet at times" is a clear reminder of the coastal Oregon weather patterns. Despite the rain, the natural beauty of the area, with its rugged coastline and diverse ecosystems, makes Bullards Beach a compelling camping destination.
In terms of services and features, Bullards Beach State Park Campground, as a state-managed facility, typically offers a range of amenities to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable camping experience. The review mentions "nice spacious campsites," which is a significant positive feature, providing ample room for tents, vehicles, and outdoor gear. The availability of a "very easy dump station" is particularly beneficial for RV campers. The campground also offers shower facilities, although a recent review noted issues with several showers being backed up, leaving only one ADA-accessible shower fully functional. This shower was described as "great," "recently tiled," and "very nice," highlighting the potential quality of the facilities when working. The availability of yurts for rent is another notable feature, offering a unique and comfortable camping option that keeps occupants "dry and warm despite heavy rain." The review also praises the "friendly park hosts," indicating a positive and helpful staff presence. While specific details on all amenities (like picnic tables, fire rings, water spigots, and restroom availability beyond the showers) are not fully detailed in the reviews, state park campgrounds generally provide these essentials.
One of the key features of Bullards Beach State Park Campground is undoubtedly its scenic beauty, as emphasized by the "great park with scenic views" comment. The proximity to the ocean and the unique coastal landscape of Bandon are major draws. The spacious campsites provide added comfort and privacy for campers. The availability of yurts offers a distinct camping experience, blending the outdoor feel with the shelter and comfort of a semi-permanent structure. The easy-to-use dump station is a significant convenience for RV travelers. The friendly park hosts contribute to a positive and welcoming atmosphere. However, the recent issue with the backed-up showers is a notable downside that prospective campers should be aware of, especially during wetter periods when usage might be higher. The fact that an ADA shower was the only fully functioning one highlights the importance of accessible facilities and the potential inconvenience when other facilities are out of order.
Promotional information for Bullards Beach State Park Campground, geared towards local users searching for "camping near me," would likely highlight the stunning coastal views and the spaciousness of the campsites. The unique yurt rentals could be a significant attraction for those seeking a more comfortable camping option. The easy access to the beaches and the Bandon area's natural beauty would also be key selling points. Emphasizing the friendly park hosts can create a welcoming image. However, any promotional material should also acknowledge the potential for wet conditions, especially during the off-season, as mentioned in the reviews ("Gets a little wet at times, but that is coastal oregon camping"). While the shower issue seems to have been a temporary problem, potential visitors might appreciate an awareness of the challenges that can arise, particularly during periods of heavy rain. The overall message should focus on the excellent coastal camping experience offered by Bullards Beach, with its scenic beauty and spacious sites, while being transparent about the realities of camping on the Oregon coast.

Bullards Beach State Park Campground Reviews
Great park with scenic views.... downside was the showers were almost all backing up! So there was only 1 shower working... that shower was great!!!! When we arrived staying in loop c we had to walk to loop a to shower, and that shower backed up while we were using it. Which was a big bummer! Its early in season and it had been raining heavily for a few days so understandable issue! The only shower that worked was a ada shower, which was a really nice shower recently tiled and very nice! Saved the day! Bc staying for multiple days without showering wasnt the game plan! We stayed in a yurt which was awesome kept us dry and warm despite heavy rain. We really enjoyed the views and friendly park hosts.

Apr 30, 2025 · PattWe had a great spot for our RV. Each site was surrounded with trees and bushes so it felt secluded but was right on the road. Highly recommended! We have a reminder set to return next year.Sorry to have no pictures. 😢
Sep 25, 2024 · FA HartStayed one night here and couldn't be more satisfied for the price, location and amenities. Super clean bathrooms, approx 1 mile walk to the beach via trail, quiet surroundings, well kept grounds. If I had to make any suggestions I would ask that the motion light in the bathrooms stay on a little longer.
