Burke Mountain Campground Introduce
Looking for "camping near me" in the East Burke, Vermont area? Burke Mountain Campground, located at 223 Sherburne Lodge Rd, East Burke, VT 05832, USA, offers a location that's convenient for exploring both Burke Mountain and the renowned Kingdom Trails. Based on recent customer feedback, the campground presents a mix of positive attributes and potential drawbacks that local users should consider when planning their outdoor getaway.
One of the frequently mentioned advantages of Burke Mountain Campground is its strategic location. Its proximity to Burke Mountain makes it an appealing base for those planning to enjoy the mountain's attractions, which may include hiking, scenic views, or winter sports depending on the season. Furthermore, its short drive into town provides easy access to the extensive Kingdom Trails network, a major draw for mountain biking enthusiasts visiting the region. For local users prioritizing access to these key outdoor destinations in their search for "camping near me," Burke Mountain Campground's location is a significant selling point.
In terms of the physical campsites, one reviewer noted that the sites are clean. Cleanliness is a fundamental aspect of a comfortable camping experience, and this positive feedback suggests that Burke Mountain Campground maintains a certain standard of tidiness within its camping areas. Additionally, the availability of lean-to's is mentioned as a plus. Lean-to shelters can offer a more structured and weather-protected camping option compared to traditional tents, which might appeal to local users seeking a slightly different "camping near me" experience with added convenience.
The check-in experience also seems to be positive, with the staff described as "nice" during the check-in process. A friendly and welcoming initial interaction can contribute to a more positive overall impression of the campground. For local users who value courteous service in their "camping near me" choices, this aspect of Burke Mountain Campground appears satisfactory.
However, potential visitors should be aware of some significant concerns raised by recent guests. One of the main issues highlighted is the limited bathroom facilities. The review indicates that there is only one bathroom available for the entire campground, which comprises 26 sites. This scarcity of facilities reportedly led to frequent waits for the stalls and the shower. While the reviewer acknowledges that this might not be a "huge deal" for some, they also point out that most campsites offer better facilities. For local users who prioritize convenient and readily available bathroom amenities in their "camping near me" selection, this limitation at Burke Mountain Campground is a crucial factor to consider.
Beyond the facility limitations, a significant concern was raised regarding the overall atmosphere or "vibe" of the campground during one guest's stay. The reviewer described "several sites full of obnoxious bros" who allegedly exhibited disruptive behavior, including cars left running all night, loud music and dance parties extending until midnight, and even fireworks at 2 am. The most concerning aspect of this feedback is the apparent lack of intervention or notice from the campground staff regarding these disturbances. The reviewer explicitly stated that "at no point did the staff seem to notice or try to rein it in," which resulted in a non-relaxing experience and led them to conclude that they would "never consider bringing a family here." For local users, especially families with children or those seeking a peaceful and quiet "camping near me" experience, this reported lack of enforcement of campground rules is a serious consideration.
It's important to note that the provided reviews offer a snapshot of individual experiences and may not reflect the typical atmosphere at all times. However, the detailed account of disruptive behavior and the perceived inaction of the staff warrants careful consideration for local users when evaluating Burke Mountain Campground as a "camping near me" option, particularly if a quiet and family-friendly environment is a priority.
The final short review mentioning "amazing condos at Burke and good hotel rooms" seems to refer to other accommodation options at Burke Mountain itself, rather than the campground. This feedback, while positive, is not directly relevant to the experience of staying at the Burke Mountain Campground.
Given the contrasting feedback, local users considering Burke Mountain Campground for their "camping near me" trip should weigh the advantages of its location, clean sites, and lean-to availability against the potential drawbacks of limited bathroom facilities and the reported issues with disruptive guests and lack of staff intervention. It might be prudent to contact the campground directly to inquire about their policies regarding noise and guest behavior, as well as the specifics of their bathroom facilities and the number of sites they accommodate.
To obtain more detailed information about the environment, specific services offered (beyond the lean-tos), features, and any potential promotional offers, local users are encouraged to contact Burke Mountain Campground directly at (802) 626-7333 or their mobile number +1 802-626-7333. Their address is 223 Sherburne Lodge Rd, East Burke, VT 05832, USA. Direct communication will allow you to inquire about campsite types, amenities (e.g., fire pits, picnic tables, water access), reservation procedures, pricing, and any specific rules or regulations that might affect your stay. It would also be wise to ask about their policies on noise control and guest conduct to gauge whether the campground can provide the peaceful experience you are seeking in your "camping near me" choice.
In conclusion, Burke Mountain Campground offers a convenient "camping near me" location for accessing Burke Mountain and Kingdom Trails, along with clean campsites and the availability of lean-to shelters. However, potential visitors should be aware of the reported limitations of having only one bathroom for 26 sites and significant concerns raised by a recent guest regarding disruptive behavior and a perceived lack of staff enforcement of campground rules. Local users should carefully consider these factors and contact the campground directly for more information to determine if it meets their needs for a "camping near me" experience in East Burke, Vermont.
