Situated at the coordinates F5MP+8P, Delta, AL 36258, this cabin provides an ideal retreat for those seeking tranquility and a connection with nature, making it a compelling option when searching for "camping near me." Cabin #5 stands out as one of the original cabins built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930s, offering a glimpse into the past while providing the conveniences of today.
The environment surrounding Cabin #5 is characterized by its peace and quiet, offering a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Its remote location suggests an immersion in the natural beauty of the Alabama landscape, likely featuring wooded areas and a serene atmosphere. Guests can anticipate a tranquil setting where they can unwind and enjoy the sounds of nature. The proximity to Delta, Alabama, hints at potential access to nearby natural attractions and outdoor activities, although specific details about the immediate surroundings are not provided in the review. However, the emphasis on peace and quiet underscores the cabin's appeal for those seeking a restful getaway.
While specific services beyond the cabin's amenities are not detailed in the review, the focus is clearly on the self-contained experience offered by Cabin #5. The mention of a "small, but inclusive kitchen" indicates that guests have the ability to prepare their own meals, offering a degree of independence and convenience. While the kitchen is inclusive, it's important to note that it does not include a dishwasher. This allows for a more traditional, hands-on approach to meal preparation and cleanup. The inclusion of a gas fireplace is a significant service, providing both warmth and ambiance without the need to gather and manage firewood, enhancing the comfort and convenience of the stay, particularly during cooler months.
The features of Cabin #5 blend its historic origins with modern updates. As one of the original CCC-built cabins from the 1930s, it carries a unique historical charm. However, it has been updated to include modern amenities, most notably DirecTV, providing entertainment options for guests. The sleeping arrangements include one queen bed, making it suitable for couples or solo travelers. The bathroom is equipped with a luxurious jetted tub, offering a relaxing way to unwind after a day of exploration or simply enjoying the peace and quiet. It's important to note that while there is a jetted tub, the review explicitly states that there is no shower, only a portable shower head for rinsing. This is a key feature to consider when planning your stay.
The combination of the historic structure with modern amenities offers a unique appeal. Guests can appreciate the craftsmanship of the original CCC cabins while enjoying contemporary conveniences like a gas fireplace and DirecTV. The inclusive kitchen allows for self-sufficiency, and the queen bed ensures a comfortable night's sleep. The jetted tub provides a touch of luxury, although the lack of a traditional shower is a notable characteristic. The reviewer's mention of a regular fireplace in the past suggests that the gas fireplace is a modern upgrade that prioritizes convenience and ease of use.
The remote location is both a feature and a benefit, offering peace and quiet that can be a significant draw for those seeking an escape from more populated areas. However, it also implies that guests should be prepared for a more secluded experience. The reviewer's positive experience and intention to return highlight the overall appeal of Cabin #5 despite the absence of a dishwasher and a traditional shower. The blend of historical charm, essential modern amenities, and a tranquil setting creates a compelling option for a relaxing getaway.

Cabin #5 Reviews
Stayed for a couple of nights this week. We enjoyed the peace and quiet as well as the remote location. This unit has one queen bed and a small, but inclusive kitchen. However, it does not have a dishwasher. The gas fireplace was enjoyable and very convenient as opposed to having to build a fire. I would guess that in the past, when it had a regular fireplace, that it would get quite toasty in this smaller cabin. These are the original cabins the CCC built in the 1930s, but they have been updated to modern amenities, including DirecTV. The bathroom includes a jetted tub. Note: There is no shower, only a portable shower head for rinsing. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and will definitely stay here again.
