Feb 10, 2025 · Javier LLanosCampground is beautiful and the bathroom and showers were incredibly clean and well stocked (mens side is heated has 3 showers and 3 toilets). Camp is entirely gravel so no worries about tracking mud inside your vehicle. My preferred choice for tenting is site 4. You have extra room to the right with plenty of trees for hammocks. Also, all tent sites have a firepit on the gravel which will be nice in the fall. Must stay destination if you enjoy the outdoors and like to bike or hike. One of the best trail systems I've ridden. Thanks for taking the time to come down and introduce yourself Clint. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back!
Feb 11, 2025 · ktran58This place is excellent! The Coldwater Mountain trail network is one of the best in the southeast and has enough miles to offer any serious mountain biker the opportunity to explore for days. Few trail systems of this caliber feature camping/accommodations right at the trailhead, but that is exactly what CCC provides. On my recent trip I brought my RV and stayed on one of the RV pads. Power and water at the site allowed me to run all of the appliances in the RV, I was able to take long, hot showers at the end of the day in the very clean, spacious bath/shower house.Clint and his family were a pleasure to be around and were just totally kind and considerate and welcoming.CCC is a premier mountain bike destination! The trail network continues to expand with new terrain and variety. If you are planning your MTB adventures for the season, definitely put this place on your list.
Apr 16, 2025 · John CorryAmazing camping/cabins catered to mountain bikers only 90 minutes from Atlanta. Facilities are brand new and super nice. A lot is still under construction and I can tell it’s going to be even better when it’s done.Surrounding trails are the best in the region this side of Pisgah. Be sure to ride Bomb Dog which I consider to be one of the most fun trails in the Southeast.
Nov 02, 2024 · Matt BrookeJust wanted to take a second to share how amazing this place is. We camped here in our minivan camper and the experience was awesome. The facilities are super nice and clean and the owners are really great people. The van spots are on medium gravel which is awesome because there is no dirt and puddles and it drains very well. The trails are AMAZING! I have camped and rode MTB all over the US and this place is in my top 3 for MTB trail side camping with Cooler in Bentonville and Whitefish Bike retreat in Montana. It's awesome! Here is some info we didn't know>* They have good firewood for sale for 10$* If it is raining during the day there is plenty of community space to get out of the rain* The trails drain VERY well. Coming from the southeast we never ride places after the rain so I wasn't sure but there were a few cars in the trailhead lot right after the rain so I went and it was fine because the trails are generally rocky not dirt.* The trails are great. Feels like dupont and pisgah had a baby and moved himself to Bama. Lots of flow but also some chunk. I couldn't believe that trails like this exist in Alabama...and I only saw one other person on the trails in 5 rides.* Bombdog has the name but the trails on the camp side are flowier and have tons of spots to catch big air. And the downhill lets out right into the camp* You can ride out of camp to the other side of the MTN and do bomb dog and have someone come grab you in the car in ten minutes if you have somebody that's not up for that challenge.* I feel like the green trails here are more like a green blue or even a blue simply because there are small fist size rocks all over the trail on the climbs so I think a true true beginner would be challenged my that.* But there is another awesome trail system 15 minutes away called Fort McClellan that has tons of true greens and easy blues. My wife loved this spot as she is not into chunk at all....but it was still fun for me.Go support this awesome place and be surprised by how awesome mountain biking can be in the South!
