Big Creek RV Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the vicinity of Northport or Tuscaloosa, Alabama? Look no further than Big Creek RV, a wonderful campground nestled in Coker, AL. Based on glowing reviews from fellow travelers, Big Creek RV offers a blend of spacious accommodations, convenient location, and a welcoming atmosphere, making it an excellent choice for both short overnight stays and extended long-term visits.
A Welcoming Environment: Roomy Lots and Thoughtful Features
One of the standout features of Big Creek RV, as highlighted by multiple guests, is the generous size of the individual lots. Unlike some campgrounds where space can feel cramped, Big Creek RV boasts "roomy" lots, providing ample space for your RV and belongings. This extra space contributes to a more comfortable and less crowded camping experience. Furthermore, some lots even include thoughtful additions like grass and sidewalks, enhancing the usability and appeal of your individual site. The presence of grass can create a more pleasant outdoor living area, while sidewalks offer added convenience for getting around your lot.
For those traveling with multiple vehicles, Big Creek RV offers the added benefit of "room for two vehicles" on each lot. This is a significant advantage, eliminating the hassle of finding additional parking within the campground and ensuring that your tow vehicle or a second car is conveniently accessible right at your site.
Convenient Location: Easy Access to Northport and Tuscaloosa
Location is often a key factor when choosing an RV park, and Big Creek RV appears to excel in this aspect. Situated just outside of Northport, AL, the campground offers a "very handy location" with easy access to the amenities and attractions of both Northport and the larger city of Tuscaloosa. This proximity allows guests to easily access shopping, dining, entertainment, and essential services without being directly in the hustle and bustle of urban areas. The reviewer specifically mentions the ease of maneuvering around the campground itself, suggesting well-laid-out roads and accessible sites, which is crucial for RVs of various sizes.
For those "Wintering in Tuscaloosa," as one long-term guest noted, Big Creek RV provides a convenient and comfortable base. Its location allows for easy access to Tuscaloosa's attractions, including the University of Alabama, while offering a more peaceful and spacious living environment just outside the city limits.
Full Hookups and Spacious Sites: Catering to Your Needs
Big Creek RV understands the essential needs of RV travelers, offering "30 and 50 Amp Full hookups." This means that each spacious lot is equipped with connections for electricity (both 30 and 50 amp service to accommodate different RV power requirements), sewage, and water. Having full hookups provides a significant level of convenience and comfort, allowing you to fully utilize all the features of your RV without the need for frequent trips to communal facilities for dumping or refilling tanks.
The reiteration of "spacious lots" in conjunction with the full hookup information emphasizes the commitment to providing comfortable and well-equipped sites for all guests, whether they are staying for a single night or an extended period.
Scenic Potential: Backing Up to Nature
One particularly appealing aspect mentioned by a long-term guest staying on "Lot 5" is that it "backs up to the woods overlooking the creek." This suggests that some sites at Big Creek RV offer a more scenic and private setting, with the tranquility of the woods and the soothing sounds of the creek right behind your RV. The ability to "accommodate a 40 ft + RV" on such a desirable lot further highlights the spaciousness and versatility of the sites available.
While not all lots may offer this direct woodland and creek view, the mention of it indicates the potential for a more immersive and nature-oriented camping experience at Big Creek RV. If you appreciate a connection with nature and enjoy a peaceful backdrop, inquiring about the availability of lots with such features would be worthwhile.
Superb Owner: Personalized and Easy to Deal With
The positive experiences at any campground are often enhanced by the quality of the management, and Big Creek RV seems to excel in this area as well. One reviewer specifically praises the owner as "super nice and easy to deal with." This personal touch can make a significant difference in the overall guest experience, fostering a welcoming and helpful atmosphere. Knowing that the owner is approachable and responsive can provide peace of mind and contribute to a more enjoyable stay.
Whether you have questions about the park, need assistance with your site, or are making arrangements for your stay, having an owner who is "easy to deal with" can streamline the process and ensure a smooth and pleasant experience at Big Creek RV.

This is a wonderful campground whether you need one night or long term. The lots are roomy with grass and we even had a sidewalk. There is room for two vehicles. Very handy location, easy to maneuver around. Just outside of Northport. The owner is super nice and easy to deal with.
Nov 14, 2024 · Barb SarrattWe are Wintering in Tuscaloosa here on Lot 5. Lot 5 backs up to the woods overlooking the creek and could accommodate a 40 ft + RV.30 and 50 Amp Full hookups, (sewage, and water) with spacious lots.Great place!!!
Dec 02, 2021 · Scott ChandlerVery nice. We appreciate being accommodated on short notice and a resident directing us after dark.
Nov 22, 2024 · cecilia ClineGreat stay at Big Creek for a Bama game. Easy 15 minute drive to the stadium. This is a new park that is making improvements but is already suitable for a relaxing stay. 30/50 amp power with sewer and water at each site. Located far enough off Hwy 82 to keep noise to a minimum but close enough for easy access. Will definitely be staying here again.
Jan 07, 2022 · Marc FISHERThis is a newer park with full 30 and 50 amp hookups, water and sewer, spacious grass lots, currently only 14 spaces so not crowded, every space is big enough for any size rig you have. The arrangement of spaces is around a large center grass circle great for walking your pets, the driveway is gravel, and there is a dumpster on site for garbage. You can get cable and high speed internet on your own installed by Spectrum, there is decent cellphone signal here. The water quality is good, the electricity is great (all new pedestals at every site). The sewer risers are a bit far from the pedestals at a couple of the sites so I would recommend being prepared with 20 feet of sewer hose. The park is right off Hwy 82 maybe a block so there is some traffic noise but most full hookup parks are by highways. The park borders a creek, and tall trees shade some sites toward the back. The park is cozy, clean, and about 2 miles from a ton of restaurants and stores including Super Walmart. It is maybe 10 miles from Bryant Denny Stadium at UA. It is walking distance to a large gas station with a decent convenience store that sells diesel for your truck or RV. The owner couldn't be nicer! Perfect for traveling nurses and workers, the internet we got installed from Spectrum is fast. Bottom line is this is a nice park where you can open your awning and slides without hitting your neighbor's camper. Would be great for GameDay weekends or long term work stay!
