Cabin in the Woods Reviews
Had a really great time last summer staying with family at the "Log House" cabin. Looking forward to visiting again in the "Beechnut" this summer! I will update this review to include some photos after my next visit. The lodging and amenities are well taken care of which is lovely. It's a great property, where you can enjoy bird-watching right from your front door, or go for a kayak trip across King's Flow, or hike up Chimney Mountain, all without touching your car again. It's a few miles off the main road so no traffic at all. It's pet-friendly, which is rare to find for nice cabins upstate, totally an asset for folks traveling with dogs! The owners are also very helpful and will come to help out if you need any help or have any questions.
Aug 23, 2024 · Shelby GuercioMy large family stayed here at the log cabin house. We had a great time fishing and hiking. The owner was friendly and was able to answer all of our questions. The water pressure in the showers was great . The property was pristine. From what I see the only reason anyone has given one star is because they are sour about not having free access across the owners property. The lack of tourist traffic is what makes this place so peaceful.
Sep 02, 2024 · alan satterleeSuch a gem. Very secluded. Quiet. They have wifi, but there is no cell service, and, if you're like me, that is awesome. Lake is serene and has some awesome trails around it. Chimney Mountain is enough of a challenge that my Colorado raised wife said it was satisfactory.Caught a bunch of fish.Nobody bugged us the whole time, and the owners were super nice.
Jun 28, 2024 · T B (Big Badger)My family used to hike up Chimney Mountain every summer, and now the very selfish owner of these cabins has blocked off the State-owned trailhead from the public. Truly despicable behavior, especially when they had previously been charging trailhead visitors to park there. Such a shameful business, ruining a lot family vacations and traditions just so they can make a buck.*added a photo so other users can see the distance between park entrances. Your property may be private, but the trailhead is still state property, and people who used to go to Chimney Mountain now do not have access to that trail, unless they climb the entirety of the other trails. With elderly parents and children, it isn't even remotely the same. I guess at least the families that used to go there had the memories while they could. Enjoy "your land."
Jul 06, 2024 · J DOriginal I just left a one star and no words due to my experience here last year. Recent conversation made me recall my trip here, and while I'm not wanting to share my story publicly, I did want to leave a rating.I woke up to a reply. Please let this hostile and unhinged reply from the owner speak for how he treats those who've paid to be on his property.
