Hello, local families and outdoor enthusiasts! If you're searching for "camping near me" in the Milford, Michigan area, Camp Dearborn, located at 1700 General Motors Rd, Milford, MI 48380, USA, comes highly recommended by local patrons. You can reach them at (248) 684-6000 or their mobile number, +1 248-684-6000, for inquiries and reservations. Based on the enthusiastic customer reviews, Camp Dearborn offers a vibrant and family-friendly camping experience with a range of amenities and a long-standing reputation in the community.
One reviewer describes Camp Dearborn as "the best," praising its "great atmosphere" and noting that the store has been recently renovated to look even better. The "great staff" also receives commendation, and the reviewer emphasizes that it's a place with "great fun for families" and a "legend in Milford" for many years. This paints a picture of a well-established and beloved local campground with a positive and welcoming environment.
Another reviewer, who stayed at a "back in, full hookup site," provides more specific details about the camping experience. The sites are described as "narrow, but long," indicating that while there might not be extensive side-to-side space between campers, the length of the sites accommodates RVs well, and the space behind the camper provides additional area. This is useful information for RV owners considering "camping near me" who need full hookups (water, electricity, sewer). The reviewer also advises needing about 50 feet of water hose, which is a practical tip for those planning to use the water hookups.
For families, Camp Dearborn appears to offer significant attractions. The reviewer mentions that the "beach and playgrounds were nice," making it an appealing destination for those with children who enjoy swimming and playing outdoors. The fact that the "campground is huge" suggests plenty of space for exploration and various activities. The staff members encountered were described as "friendly and helpful," which contributes to a positive overall experience.
Adding to the family-friendly atmosphere, the reviewer noted that the "decorations were cute" and that there were "dance parties every night." While this particular family didn't attend the dance parties because their children preferred to ride bikes, it highlights the organized entertainment offered at the campground, which could be a significant draw for other families looking for engaging evening activities. This suggests a lively and social environment, especially in the evenings.
An interesting point regarding rules was also mentioned. The campground website reportedly states "NO electric scooters," which initially prevented the reviewer's children from bringing theirs. However, they observed that "everybody had them," leading them to believe that this rule might not be strictly enforced. This is something local users might want to be aware of, although it's always best to adhere to official rules unless otherwise clarified.
The concluding remark from this reviewer, "We definitely plan on going back," speaks volumes about their positive experience and their intention to return, further solidifying Camp Dearborn's reputation as a desirable local camping spot.
Based on these reviews, the environment of Camp Dearborn seems to be well-maintained and geared towards family fun. The presence of a beach and playgrounds suggests a setting that encourages outdoor activity and relaxation. The mention of a renovated store indicates that the facilities are being updated and cared for. The overall atmosphere is described as great, contributing to a positive camping experience.
In terms of services and features, Camp Dearborn offers full hookup RV sites, a beach, playgrounds, a store, and organized activities like nightly dance parties. The staff is reported to be friendly and helpful. While the RV sites might be somewhat narrow, they are long enough to accommodate RVs, and there is space behind the sites. It seems to cater well to families looking for a campground with recreational options for children.

Camp Dearborn Reviews
This place is the best, great atmosphere, redid the store to look even better, great staff, great fun for families and the place has been a legend in Milford since I was a little kid, can't praise it enough.
Apr 22, 2025 · william minier jr.We had a back in, full hookup site. The sites were narrow, but long. So there wasn't a ton of space between campers, but it wasn't bad because we had the space behind our camper. You need about 50ft of water hose. Beach and playgrounds were nice. Campground is huge. The couple staff members that we talked to were friendly and helpful. Decorations were cute. They had dance parties every night, but we didn't go, my kids would rather ride bikes. The website says NO electric scooters so my kids didn't bring theirs. But everybody had them, so next time we probably will bring them I don't think that rule is enforced. We definitely plan on going back.
Oct 03, 2024 · Samantha LudyNot a bad Campground if you have a Giant RV with full hookup, but if you expect to use their bathrooms, be prepared. The majority of stalls don't lock, doors are broken with holes so people can see you doing your business and cleanliness is nowhere near what I would consider acceptable. Much of the campground is nice, but if you can't even get your bathrooms to be reasonable, what are you doing?
Oct 19, 2024 · Nate ComptonTerrible! Checked into our resort cabin which was way over priced for what you end up with! There were qtips left on the bed area and floor, trash in the toliet, and hair and blue body wash left all over the shower along with a used bar of soap. We also made the mistake of turning the fan on when we walked in and had dust chunks fall from it! The cabin had an a/c unit put in the window that was not sealed properly so there was a draft and it was freezing at night. I'm well aware that the temps are colder now but didn't expect sleeping in a cabin to be like sleeping in a tent with a breeze coming through. When I spoke the very unhelpful lady at the front office, I was told the cabins get cleaned and checked but that definitely wasnt the case here. No one took responsibility for the issues and I was told "it's possible someone broke in and used the cabin after it was cleaned" and that "it happens all the time". After that, we were offered an air mattress for our troubles or complimentary firewood after paying nearly $250 for 2 nights. Absolute bullshit. The maintenance men were kind enough to come and take the a/c unit out so we wouldn't freeze our 2nd night but we decided to leave early due to the lack of customer service. We were told the supervisor would call us to discuss what happened but that call still hasn't reach us.Please do not camp here! If this review doesn't stop you, maybe the other 20+ reviews recently stating the place is "filthy, disgusting, and gross" will.
Oct 17, 2024 · Allison MaylumThere were only a few sites we could reserve online (in September), even though there were lots of empty sites while we were there. We were stuck near multiple noisy neighbors that were loud late into the night. Then garbage trucks came to empty the dumpsters by us at 4am. Barely slept.
