Camp Emerald Acres Introduce
For local residents in Western New York and surrounding areas seeking "camping near me," Camp Emerald Acres, located at 6629 Abbotts, Franklinville, NY 14737, USA, presents itself as a potentially peaceful and rustic option. Situated in Franklinville, NY, this campground has received mixed reviews from past visitors, offering both positive and negative perspectives for potential local users to consider.
One reviewer described their experience at Camp Emerald Acres as "nice and peaceful," highlighting the clean environment and a "rustic" feel that they appreciated. The reviewer also noted the presence of many returning long-term campers, suggesting a community of individuals who respect the campground's rules and property. This could indicate a stable and perhaps quieter atmosphere, appealing to those seeking a more tranquil camping experience within the "camping near me" category.
However, a contrasting review presents a more critical perspective of Camp Emerald Acres. This reviewer expressed strong dissatisfaction, alleging that the owner is "money hungry and over charges for everything." They also raised concerns about borrowed belongings being lost and described the owner as a "backstabber" for those choosing to leave. Furthermore, this reviewer pointed out that electricity and cable are tied into a single line, which might be inconvenient for some campers. Based on these negative experiences, this reviewer stated they would "never camp there again" nor recommend the place to others, whether for seasonal or short-term stays.
Given the limited information beyond these two reviews, providing a comprehensive description of the environment, services, and features of Camp Emerald Acres requires drawing inferences and acknowledging the conflicting feedback. The environment in Franklinville, NY, is likely to be rural and potentially scenic, offering a break from more urbanized areas. Campgrounds in such locations often benefit from natural surroundings, which could include:
- Wooded Areas: The "rustic" feel mentioned in the positive review might be associated with a setting that includes trees and natural foliage, providing shade and a sense of being immersed in nature.
- Peaceful Ambiance: The "nice and peaceful" comment suggests a quieter environment, possibly away from major roads or noisy attractions.
- Rural Setting: Franklinville is a small town in Cattaraugus County, indicating a generally less crowded and more natural setting compared to larger cities.
In terms of services and features typically found at campgrounds, Camp Emerald Acres might offer:
- Campsites: Accommodating tents, RVs, or a combination of both. The nature of these sites (e.g., size, hookups) is not specified.
- Restroom and Shower Facilities: Essential amenities for campers, although their condition and accessibility are not detailed in the positive review beyond cleanliness. The negative review does not comment on these facilities directly.
- Potable Water Sources: Access to drinking water throughout the campground.
- Waste Disposal: Designated areas for trash and recycling.
- Electricity and Cable Hookups: As mentioned in the negative review, these are reportedly tied into one line, which could have implications for usage and billing.
- Long-Term and Seasonal Options: The positive review mentions "lots returning long term campers," suggesting that seasonal or extended stays are accommodated.
Features that might contribute to the "rustic" feel could include more basic amenities or a design that blends with the natural surroundings. However, the lack of specific details makes it difficult to elaborate on this aspect objectively.
The significant point of contention arises from the management and pricing, as highlighted in the negative review. Local users considering Camp Emerald Acres should be aware of these concerns, which include alleged overcharging and issues with personal belongings. The comment about being a "backstabber if you choose to leave" is particularly serious and suggests potential interpersonal conflicts with the management.
Given the stark contrast between the two available reviews, it is crucial for local users searching for "camping near me" to approach Camp Emerald Acres with caution and consider both perspectives. The positive review suggests a clean, peaceful, and rustic environment favored by long-term campers, while the negative review paints a picture of potential financial and interpersonal issues with the management.
Without any specific promotional information provided, it is challenging to suggest concrete ways that Camp Emerald Acres might attract local users. However, based on the positive feedback, they could potentially emphasize:
- The Peaceful and Clean Environment: Highlight the tranquility and the efforts to maintain a clean campground.
- The Rustic Charm: Appeal to those who appreciate a more natural and less commercialized camping experience.
- The Sense of Community: If the presence of many returning long-term campers fosters a welcoming community, this could be a selling point.
- The Location in Franklinville: Promote the natural beauty and attractions of the Franklinville area.
Conversely, the negative feedback suggests potential areas of concern that might deter local users, and which the management would need to address to improve their reputation and attract more visitors. These include transparency in pricing, responsible handling of guests' belongings, and fostering positive relationships with all campers, regardless of their length of stay or departure decisions.
Local users interested in potentially camping at Camp Emerald Acres are advised to contact them directly at (716) 676-3225 or +1 716-676-3225 to inquire about current rates, policies, and amenities. It might also be beneficial to seek additional reviews or information from other sources to gain a more comprehensive understanding of what to expect. The conflicting feedback currently available underscores the importance of due diligence for any local camper considering this "camping near me" option in Franklinville, NY.

Jun 17, 2022 · Rich PembrockOwner is money hungry and over charges for everything. Borrows belongings from her campers and looses them, backstabber if you choose to leave. Electricity and cable is all tied into one line not separate. I would never camp there again nor would I ever recommend this place to anyone seasonal or wknder's

Aug 16, 2020 · Steve PomietlaszCampsite is extremely over populated money hungry owners don’t respect their tenants and is just a terrible place to enjoy your peaceful camping experience
Oct 08, 2024 · Jacob TallmanCool campgrounds. But when I went up there for a family cookout, the owners tried to convince me my family wasn't there and that I should leave. I said, "they just texted me, telling me to come up" and I gave them the name of my family and the camp # to make sure they had the right people. They told me they were just up there and my family had left. I got passed them and my family was up there. They have given me a hard time twice, but I keep going because I love my family. Cool place but not very welcoming.
