Camp Faribo Introduce
For local residents in Faribault, Minnesota, and those seeking a "camping near me" experience in the region, Camp Faribo, located at 21851 Bagley Ave, Faribault, MN 55021, USA, presents itself as an RV resort and campground offering a range of options from short weekend getaways to seasonal sites. You can contact them at (507) 332-8453 or their mobile number +1 507-332-8453 to inquire about availability and specific details.
A Welcoming Environment with Recent Upgrades
According to one enthusiastic reviewer, Camp Faribo provides a "great camping experience" and is "perfect for a small weekend getaway or seasonal sites." The atmosphere is described as "fantastic," and the staff is also highly praised. The reviewer specifically mentions the new owners, Steve and Janet, noting that they are "wonderful people" who have implemented "so many upgrades" to the campground. This suggests that recent changes have positively impacted the overall guest experience, potentially leading to improved facilities and services.
The presence of a store that stocks essentials, as well as "fun stuff to purchase for decorating your campsite," adds to the convenience and the potential for a more personalized and enjoyable camping setup. The mention of a "new playground" is a significant draw for families with children, indicating that Camp Faribo caters to a family-friendly environment with on-site recreational facilities for kids.
Potential Water Quality Issues
However, it's crucial to consider a contrasting review that highlights a significant issue with the water quality at the campground. This reviewer, who stayed for a substantial portion of the summer, states that "the water stinks" and that despite spending a considerable amount on filters, the problem seemed "unfixable." This is a serious concern that potential campers should be aware of and may want to inquire about directly with the campground management.
Shower House Convenience and Late-Season Amenity Concerns
Despite the water issue at the individual sites, the same reviewer noted the convenience of a shower house that "doesn’t smell and only cost a quarter." This suggests that an alternative, and potentially cleaner, water source for showering is available on the premises for a small fee. This could be a significant factor for campers who find the water at their site unusable for personal hygiene.
The second reviewer also raised concerns about the late-season operation of the campground and its amenities. They mentioned that the campground closes on October 15th and that they paid for the full month from September 15th to October 15th. However, they reported that the bathrooms (presumably the shower house) were no longer being cleaned a week before the closing date. This resulted in the reviewer being "stuck showering in LITERAL rotting eggs," indicating a severe lapse in hygiene standards during the final week of the season. The reviewer's attempt to contact the campground about this issue seemingly did not yield a satisfactory response at the time of their review.
Environment and Atmosphere for Local Campers
Based on the positive review, the environment at Camp Faribo is conducive to a "great camping experience." The description of it as an "RV resort" suggests that it offers a level of comfort and amenities beyond a basic campground, potentially including well-maintained grounds and facilities. The atmosphere is described as "fantastic," implying a welcoming and enjoyable environment for campers of all types.
The location in Faribault, Minnesota, suggests a setting within the natural beauty of the region, which features lakes, rivers, and rolling landscapes. The specific environment of Camp Faribo might include wooded areas providing shade, open spaces for RVs and activities, and potentially proximity to local attractions or natural points of interest in the Faribault area.
For local users seeking "camping near me," the appeal of Camp Faribo lies in its recent upgrades, family-friendly amenities like the new playground, a convenient store, and a seemingly positive overall atmosphere fostered by the new owners and staff. The option for both weekend getaways and seasonal sites provides flexibility for different camping needs.
Services and Features for a Comfortable Stay
Based on the reviews, Camp Faribo offers several services and features:
- RV Sites: Equipped for various needs, including potentially water and electric hookups (though not explicitly detailed in the positive review).
- Seasonal Sites: Offering a longer-term camping option for those wanting a consistent getaway location.
- Camp Store: Stocking essentials and decorative items for campsites.
- Shower House: Available for a small fee (quarter-operated), noted for being clean. However, its availability and maintenance towards the end of the season may be a concern.
- New Playground: A significant amenity for families with children.
- Organized Activities: The positive reviewer mentions "activities," suggesting that the campground may offer some form of organized entertainment or events for guests.
- Welcoming Staff: Praised for their positive attitude and helpfulness.
- New Upgrades: Indicating ongoing improvements to the campground facilities and services under the new ownership.
However, potential campers must also consider the reported negative aspects:
- Potentially Poor Water Quality at Sites: A significant issue reported by a long-term guest.
- Possible Early Closure or Reduced Maintenance of Amenities: The shower house cleaning issue in the late season raises concerns about the reliability of amenities towards the end of the operating period.
Promotional Information and Local Appeal
While no specific promotional offers are mentioned in the provided reviews, Camp Faribo, under its new ownership, could attract local users searching for "camping near me" by highlighting:
- The Recent Upgrades: Emphasize the improvements made by Steve and Janet to enhance the camping experience.
- Family-Friendly Amenities: Promote the new playground and any organized activities for children.
- The Welcoming Atmosphere: Highlight the positive feedback regarding the staff and overall ambiance.
- The Convenience of the Store: Mention the availability of essentials and fun decorative items.
- Weekend Getaway and Seasonal Options: Cater to both short-term and long-term camping needs of local residents.
- Address Water Quality Concerns: Transparently communicate any efforts being made to resolve the water quality issues at the campsites. If improvements have been made, this should be clearly advertised.
- Clarify Late-Season Amenity Schedules: Provide clear information about the availability and maintenance schedule of amenities, especially towards the end of the operating season, to avoid surprises for guests.
For local residents of Faribault and the surrounding areas, Camp Faribo offers a potentially enjoyable camping experience with new and improved facilities and a welcoming atmosphere. The convenience of being close to home, combined with the amenities of an RV resort, could make it an attractive option for weekend escapes or seasonal stays. However, it is crucial for potential campers to be aware of the reported water quality issues at individual sites and the potential for reduced amenity maintenance towards the end of the camping season and to seek clarification from the campground management before booking.

Camp Faribo Reviews
Great camping experience. Our family had some great times here. The RV resort is perfect for a small weekend getaway or seasonal sites. The staff, activities and atmosphere were fantastic. The new owners, Steve and Janet, have made so many upgrades and they’re wonderful people! The store has everything you need, including fun stuff to purchase for decorating your campsite. The new playground is awesome. Highly recommend!!
Sep 12, 2024 · Christina GreenI’ve had a pleasure staying at this campground for most of the summer. To be frank, the water stinks. My fiancée has bought hundreds of dollars worth of filters to fix the problem but it seems like it’s unfixable. I was content with that because they have a very convenient shower house that doesn’t smell and only cost a quarter. This campground closes on the 15th of October and I paid the FULL month of from September 15th- October 15th. They decided they were done cleaning the bathrooms (my only guess of why they would close it a week early) so now I’m stuck showering in LITERAL rotting eggs. We called about it but seems like they don’t care. Not sure why but would love their explanation and can tell by these reviews you’re quick to respond. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Oct 07, 2024 · Katrina MoranJanet and Steve are amazing campground owners, who take pride in their campground and it shows! Bathroom/shower rooms were remodeled a few years ago and are always well kept and clean. Playground was also updated a few years ago, and our kids love it! The pool is a huge plus, great for all ages! The grounds are always well kept and clean, and the lot sizes are much larger than a lot of other campgrounds I've gone to around the area. The office is adorable with lots of items to purchase (snacks, clothing, home goods, etc) Campground is close to town, but far enough away at the same time. We will definitely be coming back every year!
May 12, 2024 · Katie StankeHad a few great weekends out here! Carleen was able to answer any questions we had as new campers, very helpful! The bathrooms and showers are clean. Kid and pet friendly.
Sep 13, 2024 · Anahi EThis was our 2nd time camping here! The owners are awesome and the campground is nice and clean. It was a very relaxing experience. We would highly recommend it!
