Camp Fimfo Texas Hill Country Introduce
For local residents seeking an exciting and amenity-rich "camping near me" experience, Camp Fimfo Texas Hill Country, located at 520 Whitewater Way, New Braunfels, TX 78132, USA, presents a unique option. This campground aims to offer more than just traditional camping, blending outdoor accommodation with resort-style attractions and activities. With a contact phone number of (830) 743-9803 or +1 830-743-9803, Camp Fimfo invites local families and adventure seekers to explore its offerings.
When searching for "camping near me" that goes beyond the basics, Camp Fimfo distinguishes itself with its on-site features, including what one reviewer enthusiastically described as a "carver roller coaster" and "big slides," suggesting a blend of amusement park thrills with the outdoor camping experience. The mention of a drone show as an "awesome" event further indicates a focus on providing entertainment beyond typical campground activities. This combination of unique attractions and accommodation options positions Camp Fimfo as a potential family vacation spot within easy reach for local Texans.
Camp Fimfo offers various accommodation types, catering to different preferences. While specific details on the types of cabins and RV spots weren't elaborated upon in the provided reviews, one visitor mentioned that "accommodations are good," implying a range of options are available. To understand the full spectrum of lodging choices, from basic tent sites to potentially more luxurious cabins and well-equipped RV hookups, it is advisable to directly contact Camp Fimfo. Their staff can provide detailed information on the different site and cabin types, their amenities, and availability.
The environment of Camp Fimfo seems to be a point of mixed feedback. One reviewer expressed a wish for more trees to have been preserved during construction, suggesting that while the property is considered "beautiful" by another guest, there might be areas with less natural shade. This is a factor that potential visitors might want to consider, especially during the hot Texas summer months. It's always a good idea to inquire about the specific characteristics of campsites or cabin locations when booking.
In terms of services and features, Camp Fimfo appears to be geared towards providing a comprehensive entertainment experience. The presence of a roller coaster and water slides indicates a significant investment in recreational facilities. The positive mention of a drone show suggests organized entertainment events are also part of the Camp Fimfo experience. Additionally, the recommendation to rent a golf cart highlights the potential size of the property and the convenience of having personal transportation to navigate the grounds and access various amenities.
However, the reviews also point out areas where improvements could enhance the guest experience. One detailed review mentioned issues with organization during a rainy period, suggesting a need for better staff training on handling adverse weather situations and refunds. The check-in process was also noted as unclear, with a recommendation for better communication through confirmation emails and improved staff training on standard procedures. These points highlight the importance of clear communication and well-trained staff in ensuring a smooth and positive guest experience.
The same detailed review also brought up the lack of themed food items or pool events for Easter weekend, as well as the unexpected lack of reservations for the roller coaster, leading to waiting in line despite "time slots." Furthermore, some activities were reportedly out of service due to low water or being broken, with a suggestion for better signage to inform guests. The organization of the big slides, including tube usage and line separation, was also cited as needing improvement, drawing a comparison to the efficiency of Schlitterbahn. These comments suggest that while Camp Fimfo offers numerous attractions, the operational aspects and guest communication could be refined.
Despite these areas for potential improvement, another reviewer shared positive experiences during two separate visits, one during a less crowded period in October and another during the peak of spring break. They praised the abundance of things to do, the quality of accommodations, the friendliness of the staff, and the overall beauty of the property. This indicates that under favorable conditions and with proactive planning, guests can indeed have a "blast" at Camp Fimfo and find it to be a "great family vacation spot."
One practical tip from a reviewer is that food options at Camp Fimfo are "minimal," advising guests to prepare to cook or eat out if staying for several days. This is valuable information for local visitors planning an extended stay, suggesting that while the campground offers entertainment, comprehensive dining facilities might be limited.
In conclusion, Camp Fimfo Texas Hill Country offers a unique "camping near me" experience by combining diverse accommodation options with engaging attractions like a roller coaster and water slides, along with organized events. While some areas like guest communication, staff training, and operational efficiency during peak times or adverse conditions appear to need attention based on recent feedback, many guests have enjoyed the variety of activities and the overall environment. For local families seeking a getaway with a blend of outdoor lodging and amusement park-style fun, Camp Fimfo presents an intriguing option. Potential visitors are encouraged to contact Camp Fimfo directly at (830) 743-9803 or +1 830-743-9803 to inquire about specific accommodation types, current operating status of attractions, and any available promotional offers to make the most of their local adventure.

Camp Fimfo Texas Hill Country Reviews
I wish they would have kept some more trees in tact and built around the oaks. We were there when it was raining and it was highly disorganized. They would benefit from some better training with the staff on what to do in situations like that and refunds. Standard protocols. Also the process for checkin was not clear, this should be stated in a confirmation email sent to you when you sign up for any reservation, but it was not provided. And when asked the staff was clearly not trained on the process either. A simple packet could be distributed to new employees with this information and other standard protocols. I'm surprised they didn't have any themed food items for Easter weekend or events at the pool for it, even decorations. Also time slots for the carver roller coaster are not actual reservations, you still have to wait in line. This was never mentioned anywhere to guests until you walk up. A few of the activities had low water or were broke and should have had signs around them to warn guests. And signage for how the big slides were organized (what tubes go where, # of riders, line separation) would have been helpful. Honestly they could take a note from Schlitterbahn with this. You just can't have that many people and that many things to do without proper signage. Again, I think the overall experience could have been improved with better guest communications (signs, emails, etc), decor, and standardized employee training.
Apr 20, 2025 · Monica ValdezWe've made it to Camp Fimfo twice, once during a completely dead week in October (highly recommend) and once during peak spring break with friends! We had a blast both times! There's plenty to do, accommodations are good, the staff is friendly, and the property is beautiful. We were there the night of the drone show and it was awesome! Don't go without renting a golf cart, that's half the fun! Food options are minimal so prepare to cook or eat out if you're staying several days. Overall it's a great family vacation spot.
Apr 03, 2025 · Shannon SmithWe were extremely impressed with our trip to Camp Fimfo. The staff was very accommodating and were quick to ask if we needed help with anything. We stayed in an adorable Bluebonnet cabin and it was very clean and came with just about everything we needed. Great air conditioning (almost worked a little too well). Golf cart rental is a must! We will definitely be booking another trip soon. Thank you to everyone that made our stay so enjoyable!
Mar 28, 2025 · Demi BariaThis was one of the best camp experiences we’ve had thus far and everything wasn’t entirely open yet! Customer service feels like a local home grown business but the professionalism of corporate. The cabin was surreal, but the property is amazing! You want to be outside all the time. The layout, the creeks, the pools, all amidst hills and beautiful mature tree scapes is just beautiful!
Apr 22, 2025 · Tamika BartleyThe family and I decided to take the RV out for spring break. Our son’s ages are 23,17 and 10 for perspective. We ALL enjoyed ourselves greatly! There is something for every age group. The staff at Fimfo adds the cherry on top to this awesome resort. We enjoyed our time at the swim up bar. Sierra makes the best ranch water ever! The Cliff Carver coaster was an amazing experience. We had some technical difficulties in regards to purchasing tickets but Emma Rose was extremely accommodating. The drone show Saturday night was epic! We will definitely be back this summer!!
