Summit Resort & RV Introduce
For local residents in the New Braunfels, Texas area, searching for "camping near me" that offers a range of accommodation options, including RV sites and cabins, Summit Resort & RV, located at 1120 Summit Resort Dr, New Braunfels, TX 78132, USA, presents itself as a possibility. To help you make an informed decision, this introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the resort based on the available customer reviews. While no direct contact information like a phone number is provided in this data, potential users can likely find it through online searches.
The limited number of reviews for Summit Resort & RV offers contrasting perspectives on the overall experience. One review expresses significant dissatisfaction, describing the resort as "outdated" and highlighting several issues with an "8 sleeper cabin." The reviewer found the beds to be extremely uncomfortable, likening them to sleeping directly on wood, and noted that even doubling mattresses with a pillow topper only provided marginal improvement. The shower was also deemed too small for a person of 6.3 feet tall. Furthermore, this reviewer cautioned against believing the stated sleeping capacity, suggesting subtracting 1-2 from the total occupancy. Specific complaints included a tiny loft suitable for perhaps two children, uncomfortable bunk beds for four children, and a hard, unclean futon (not a sleeper couch as advertised) suitable for only one adult. A serious concern raised was the presence of mold damage in almost all corners of the cabin, including near the bunk beds, which the reviewer believes contributed to chest issues in their children that cleared up after leaving. Based on this experience, the reviewer strongly recommended against staying at Summit Resort & RV, even if it were free.
In contrast, another reviewer who stayed for a week over the eclipse, having booked a year prior, offered a more positive, albeit tempered, perspective. This reviewer acknowledged that the resort is "older but maintained" and noted that all requests were dealt with promptly. A specific observation was that the villas are situated on steep, narrow driveways, which could be a factor for some guests to consider, particularly those with larger vehicles or mobility concerns.
Considering these differing accounts, the environment of Summit Resort & RV appears to be situated in a location with villas on potentially challenging terrain (steep, narrow driveways), as mentioned by the more positive reviewer. The negative review focuses more on the interior environment of at least one of the cabins, highlighting issues with comfort (beds, shower size), cleanliness (unclean futon, mold), and potentially air quality (alleged link to chest issues). The fact that it's referred to as a "resort & RV" suggests that it likely offers both cabin accommodations and RV sites, catering to different types of travelers seeking "camping near me." The mention of booking a year in advance for the eclipse suggests that the location might be popular during specific events or seasons, potentially due to its proximity to attractions in the New Braunfels area or its overall setting.
In terms of services, the positive reviewer's comment about "all requests were dealt with promptly" indicates that the resort has some level of on-site management and is responsive to guest needs. However, the stark contrast with the negative review, which implies a lack of attention to cleanliness and maintenance (mold, unclean furniture), makes it difficult to draw a definitive conclusion about the overall quality of services. For RV campers, typical services might include hookups for water, electricity, and sewer, as well as potentially dump stations. For cabin guests, services would include the provision of the accommodation itself, but the negative review raises serious questions about the standard and upkeep of these accommodations. The availability of other resort-style services, such as a pool, recreational areas, laundry facilities, or Wi-Fi, is not mentioned in the provided reviews, leaving these aspects unknown.
The features of Summit Resort & RV are also only partially revealed. The presence of "villas" and "cabins" is confirmed, alongside RV sites. The negative review details features of an "8 sleeper cabin," including a loft, bunk beds, and a futon, while also noting the small shower. The mention of steep, narrow driveways for the villas is another feature to be aware of. The fact that it attracted eclipse viewers suggests a location with potentially good visibility of celestial events or perhaps its availability during a high-demand period. However, broader features that might typically be found at a resort, such as recreational facilities or specific amenities for RVers (e.g., pull-through sites, level pads), are not mentioned in these reviews.
No information regarding specific promotional offers or discounts is provided in the reviews. Local users would need to check the resort's website (if available) or contact them directly to inquire about seasonal rates, special packages, or any discounts for local residents, extended stays, or groups. The fact that one reviewer booked a year in advance for the eclipse might suggest that early booking is advisable during peak times, but it doesn't indicate any specific promotions.
For local users searching for "camping near me" in New Braunfels and considering Summit Resort & RV, it's crucial to weigh the contrasting experiences shared in the limited reviews. The positive review suggests that the resort is older but maintained, with responsive management. However, the strongly negative review raises significant concerns about the comfort, cleanliness, and potential health hazards within at least one of the cabins. The steep driveways to the villas are also a practical consideration.
Given these conflicting perspectives, local users are strongly advised to conduct further research before making a booking. This should include searching for the resort's website or listings on other travel and review platforms to get a broader range of opinions and more detailed information about the types of accommodations, amenities, and services offered. If possible, contacting the resort directly with specific questions about the age and condition of the cabins, the size of the showers, mold remediation efforts, and bedding comfort would be prudent. RV campers should inquire about the specifics of the RV sites, including hookup availability and site sizes.
In conclusion, Summit Resort & RV near New Braunfels offers both RV sites and cabin accommodations for those seeking "camping near me." However, the available reviews present a mixed picture. While one reviewer found it to be older but maintained with prompt service, another reported significant issues with an outdated, uncomfortable, and potentially unhealthy cabin. The steep driveways to the villas are also a factor to consider. Local users should proceed with caution, conduct thorough additional research, and potentially contact the resort directly to address the concerns raised in the negative review and to get a comprehensive understanding of the current condition and offerings of Summit Resort & RV before making a reservation.

Summit Resort & RV Reviews
This place is outdated. Really outdated. The beds a re so uncomfortable. They may as well not have mattresses on the wood. I'm 6.3 tall and could barely fit in the shower. My wife had to doublestack two mattresses and put a pillow topper on to be somewhat comfortable. Do not belive the sleeping count subtract 1-2 per total occupancy. We had the 8 sleeper cabin. The loft is tiny, will maybe sleep 2 kids, the bunkbeds are really u comfortable but will sleep 4 kids. The futon ( not a sleeper couch as stated) will sleep 1 adult and it hard and has never been cleaned. Their is mold damage in almost all the corners of the cabin. Even right next to where your head is in the bunk beds. Both our kids started to get chest issues, which cleared up as soon as we left. I would not go here again, not even if it were free
