Ol' River RV Park Introduce
For those in search of "camping near me" in the New Braunfels, Texas area, Ol' River RV Park, situated at 8511 River Rd, New Braunfels, TX 78132, USA, presents itself as a riverside option. This campground is located along the Guadalupe River, a popular destination for water-based recreation and outdoor enthusiasts. While specific details about the park's comprehensive offerings are limited in the provided information, we can piece together a potential picture based on the location and the sparse customer feedback available. It's important for local users to consider all aspects, both positive and negative, when evaluating Ol' River RV Park for their camping needs.
The primary environmental feature of Ol' River RV Park is its location directly on the Guadalupe River. This prime riverside setting offers immediate access to the water, which is a significant draw for many visitors to the New Braunfels area. The Guadalupe River is well-known for activities such as tubing, swimming, kayaking, and fishing. Campers at Ol' River RV Park can likely enjoy these activities with ease, stepping right from the campground to the riverbanks. The natural environment surrounding the river in this part of Texas is typically characterized by lush greenery, mature trees providing shade, and the sounds of flowing water, creating a potentially scenic and relaxing atmosphere for campers seeking a natural escape. However, the reviews do not provide specific details about the upkeep or overall aesthetic appeal of the campground itself beyond its riverfront location.
Information regarding the services offered at Ol' River RV Park is limited in the provided reviews. One reviewer mentioned the availability of drinks at "fabulous" prices, suggesting that there might be some form of on-site service offering beverages. The same reviewer noted that they did not enjoy the food and found it to be "a little high priced," indicating the potential presence of a food service or snack bar. However, the quality and pricing of the food appear to be areas of concern for at least one visitor. The reviews do not provide information about essential campground services such as restroom and shower facilities, laundry services, Wi-Fi availability, or the presence of a camp store. For local users considering a stay, it would be prudent to contact Ol' River RV Park directly at (830) 964-4443 or +1 830-964-4443 to inquire about the specific services and amenities available to guests.
The key feature of Ol' River RV Park is undoubtedly its direct access to the Guadalupe River, offering opportunities for various water-based recreational activities. For those looking to spend their time swimming, tubing, or simply enjoying the river, this location could be very appealing. The fact that a visitor drives from Fort Worth to the area, seemingly in connection with the RV park (to see a band play), suggests that the park might host events or have some form of entertainment that attracts people from outside the immediate vicinity. However, details about these features are not elaborated upon in the provided feedback. The mention of a band playing ("Made In Texas Band") could indicate occasional live music or events that might be a draw for some campers. Again, direct inquiry with the park is necessary to understand the full range of features and activities offered.
Promotional information is entirely absent from the provided reviews. Local users interested in staying at Ol' River RV Park would need to contact them directly to inquire about current rates, availability, and any special offers or packages they might be running. Given its location on a popular river, pricing could vary depending on the season, with peak times potentially commanding higher rates. Inquiring about daily, weekly, or monthly rates for RV spots or any potential cabin rentals (if available, though not mentioned) would be essential for planning a stay and budgeting accordingly. It would also be wise to ask about any additional fees for amenities or activities.
The customer reviews for Ol' River RV Park present a mixed and concerning picture. While one reviewer expresses their love for the place, primarily in the context of seeing a band and enjoying the drinks, the other review details a deeply disturbing experience of alleged disrespect and discriminatory treatment by the owner. This serious accusation of being told to leave the property and being labeled a trespasser based on the color of their skin is a significant issue that potential visitors must consider. The emotional impact of this experience on the reviewer and their young child is evident in their feedback. This negative review raises serious concerns about the management and the overall atmosphere of the park for all visitors, particularly those from diverse backgrounds.
Given the stark contrast in the two reviews, it is challenging to form a completely objective and balanced introduction without further information or more diverse feedback. The positive aspect highlighted is the potential for enjoying the Guadalupe River and possibly some form of entertainment or social atmosphere related to events at the park. However, the extremely negative experience reported by another visitor cannot be ignored and serves as a critical point of caution for anyone considering staying at Ol' River RV Park. Local users should weigh these contrasting experiences carefully and potentially seek additional reviews or information from other sources to get a broader perspective.
In conclusion, Ol' River RV Park offers a location on the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels, which can be attractive for those seeking river-based recreation. There is a mention of drinks being available and potentially live music events. However, a significant and deeply concerning review alleges discriminatory treatment by the owner. For local users looking for "camping near me," it is strongly recommended to proceed with extreme caution, seek further reviews and information from multiple sources, and consider contacting the park directly to understand their policies and ensure a welcoming and respectful environment for all guests. The limited and conflicting information available makes it difficult to provide a definitive positive or negative assessment, underscoring the need for thorough personal research before making a decision to stay at Ol' River RV Park.

Ol' River RV Park Reviews
I loooove this place! We go to see my brother play with an awesome band, Made In Texas Band... And we drive from Fort Worth to do so! Didn't enjoy the food, a little high priced too. But the drinks and prices are fabulous
Sep 26, 2017 · *CJ* HannahSpent the day on the river with my wife and little girl... never have I ever been so disrespected by the owner himself. My family and I were looking forward to spending the weekend at what we thought was one of the best places to stay on the river but because the color of our skin we were told to leave the property and told we were trespassing. God bless this man I thought some people were different but I guess not it's so sad that my 4 year old little girl asked me what was wrong with the color of our skin and why we had to leave.
Aug 07, 2016 · Michael MirelesMy two, always hungry, meat eating teenage boys who eat everything and anything Did not like the briskit sandwiches. At all! On the flip side, I had the fajitas and they were Fantastic. A little salsa would have been nice though.
Jun 24, 2017 · Mimi UrrThis was a last minute plan for us. As most of you may know that during the summer there is a 2 night minimum for most campsites at the river (which is understandable). However my husband and I wanted to go to the river but didn't have 2 nights to take off from work. We called Kane's Ol'River Hideaway and got the answering machine, my husband left a message without really thinking we would get a call back since it was summer time and we were trying to go the very next day (a Saturday) and spend the night till Sunday. Kim was kind enough to call us back early Saturday morning giving us time to get up there and enjoy the day! She was so accommodating to us and seemed to really love her job. We absolutely loved it and the flow on the river couldn't have been more perfect! Thank you Kim and staff you rock! We hope to be back soon for a longer stay.
Jul 22, 2015 · Esperanza OlveraWe have been going here for years. We love Kim and Bob! Family friendly or group friendly. Food is GREAT. River is walking distance. Live bands, volleyball, and on occasions slip and slide.
