Camp Jackson Sawyer - Scouting America Reviews
This was a nice home base for our 3 night stay in the Keys. We traveled from out of state without our traditional camping gear but we found the tent, beds, and overall grounds to be adequate for our needs. Sunsets and sunrises were great and it was nice to be right on the water.
Mar 29, 2025 · Sarah BerkenWe visited on Christmas morning Dec 2024. We were driving from Key West back up the keys.We were planning to camp here originally but decided it was just too far from Key West and we didn't want to do the commute back and forth each day.We stopped by long enough just to take a look around and take some pictures. If we had more time to explore the keys we'd probably have spent at least one night here. We are a scouting family and appreciate the fact that this camp is open to the public to just book.
Feb 22, 2025 · David LieuGreat campground with beautiful view and clean facilities. Quite windy however worth it. Bring water shoes as well. Can swim off of the deck.
Apr 01, 2025 · European VixenThis is one of our favorite scout camps. The bathhouse is always very clean and the visitors are very respectful. Quiet hours are enforced which I appreciate after a long day in the sun.
Mar 25, 2025 · Jenna BartnickJust got back from our 3rd annual Spring Break trip. I highly recommend this place for those with kids! You do not have to be affiliated with the Boy Scouts in order to stay here! You are only required to have a child less than 16 (or 18…… I forgot). The area is beautiful and the waters are teaming with marine life! The only drawback is that it is less than 200 yards from the highway so you do get some road noise at night. But it’s not bad compared to other areas! There is a separate restroom and bathhouse. The pavilion has propane grills that you can use. You can also purchase firewood directly from them for cheap! I highly recommend this place!
