I have been a part of Scouting America as Camp Rockefeller went through several name changes; Cove Creek and Camp Nile Montgomery. The camp went from tents on dirt ground to concrete platformed tents, open pit to flushable toilets, open bath house to individual shower stalls (heated and air conditioned), basically it went from a very rustic camp to extremely modern. Camp Rock will always hold a special place in my heart. - Dusty Brown

The "environment" of Camp Rockefeller appears to have evolved significantly over time, as noted by a long-time Scouting member. Initially described as a "very rustic camp" with "tents on dirt ground," it has transitioned to a more modern setting. The presence of "concrete platformed tents" suggests durable and elevated tent sites, likely offering better protection from the elements and improved comfort compared to traditional ground tents. The ongoing upgrades indicate a commitment to maintaining and enhancing the natural surroundings and the camping infrastructure. One reviewer mentioned the camp being "very clean" and "well maintained," suggesting a high standard of upkeep that contributes to a pleasant outdoor experience.
