Situated at 111 Canal Dr, this campground serves as an ideal launching point for adventures in the Pamlico Sound and the nearby Outer Banks. For those searching for "camping near me" that offers more than just a place to pitch a tent, Cedar Creek Campground Marina provides a comprehensive experience centered around waterfront access and a serene environment.
Environment and Location: Cedar Creek Campground Marina boasts a prime waterfront location, offering campers stunning views and direct access to the water. The reviews highlight its secluded nature, away from commercial properties and crowds, making it a haven for those seeking peace and quiet. The campground's proximity to the Outer Banks positions it as a strategic "staging ground" for boating and exploring the wild coastal landscapes. Imagine waking up to the gentle sounds of the water and enjoying the natural beauty of coastal North Carolina right from your campsite. The area is known for its diverse ecosystem, offering opportunities for birdwatching and enjoying the unique flora and fauna of the region.
Services and Amenities: Based on customer feedback, Cedar Creek Campground Marina offers several key services and amenities to enhance your camping experience. Notably, the presence of a boat launch and wash facility makes it particularly appealing to boaters and those planning water-based activities. One reviewer specifically mentioned the helpfulness of staff, including assistance with launching and retrieving boats. This suggests a level of personalized service that can significantly enhance a camping trip, especially for those with boats or watercraft. While specific details about all amenities are not provided in the reviews, the mention of showers indicates that basic hygiene needs are catered to. The marina aspect suggests the potential availability of boat slips and possibly other boating-related services.
Features and Highlights: The standout feature of Cedar Creek Campground Marina appears to be its direct waterfront access and the associated boating facilities. This makes it a unique offering within the "camping near me" category for individuals and families who enjoy spending time on the water. The secluded environment, praised by a long-time visitor, suggests a focus on providing a peaceful and nature-oriented camping experience, away from the hustle and bustle of more commercial campgrounds. The campground's history and the past owner's accommodating nature, while the property has changed hands, speak to a tradition of hospitality. The location's suitability as a basecamp for exploring the Outer Banks further adds to its appeal, offering a blend of mainland tranquility and easy access to the coastal attractions.
Promotional Information and Recent Changes: While specific promotional offers are not mentioned in the provided information, the change in ownership is a significant piece of information for potential visitors. One recent review expresses concern about stricter policies regarding pets under the new ownership. This highlights the importance of contacting the campground directly to inquire about current rules and regulations, especially if traveling with pets. The previous positive experiences shared by long-term visitors indicate a history of customer satisfaction, particularly regarding the accommodating nature of the previous management. Potential campers might want to inquire about any changes in services or policies under the new ownership to ensure it aligns with their expectations.
Considerations for Potential Campers: The review regarding pet policies serves as a crucial point for those traveling with animals. It underscores the need to communicate clearly with the campground management about pet behavior and adhere to any specific guidelines they may have in place. While the previous owner was described as accommodating, the new management appears to have a different approach to pets. Additionally, the mention of past flooding events suggests that potential campers might want to inquire about any seasonal considerations or potential environmental factors that could affect their stay, although a long-time camper noted this was an unusual event.
Connecting with "Camping Near Me": For local users searching for "camping near me," Cedar Creek Campground Marina offers a distinctive option due to its waterfront location and marina facilities. It caters to a specific niche of campers who value water access and a quieter, more secluded environment. While the recent change in ownership might bring about some changes in policies, the fundamental appeal of its location and the availability of a boat launch remain significant advantages. To get the most up-to-date information on services, policies, and availability, interested individuals are encouraged to contact Cedar Creek Campground Marina directly at (252) 225-9571 or +1 252-225-9571.
In conclusion, Cedar Creek Campground Marina offers a unique camping experience in Sealevel, NC, characterized by its waterfront location, boat launch facilities, and proximity to the Outer Banks. While a recent change in ownership has brought about some adjustments, potential campers seeking a secluded coastal getaway with opportunities for boating and exploring the natural beauty of the region will find it a compelling option within the "camping near me" category. Direct communication with the campground is recommended to ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay.

Cedar Creek Campground Marina Reviews
We used Cedar Creek Campground as a staging ground for our 5-day sailboat adventure in the Sound. Holly was so kind and set us up with advice and directions and welcomed all of us, our trailers, and our gear to this beautiful campground. Luigi even helped us launch and retrieve our boats! The showers and boat wash facility enabled us to have a great experience and enjoy the gorgeous and wild Outer Banks!
Aug 19, 2024 · Chris SmeadWe called the new owners to make a reservation and got the third degree about our dogs. Now I will admit my dogs aren't the best behaved so we bring them out in the early mornings when no ones else is around and walk then down to the point where there are no campers. Through out the day we let them out right by our camper. The last campground we were at our one neighbor didn't even know we had dogs. After our interaction over the phone we decided this was no longer the place for us.We were here in October 2023 and it was our 3rd time. I wish they wouldn't have had to sell it.Scott and the whole family have always been very accommodating. They called us and let us know they were experiencing the worst flooding they had seen in years. Talking to the long time leases campers they told us the same thing. We loved this place because of its secluded area without commercial properties and crowds.
Jul 24, 2024 · Annette NicholsApparently reservations do not matter here because the owners are selling. We reserved in July for October and called Scott twice on our arrival day to alert him of our ETA. When we arrived, a bus was settling in on the 50 am site we reserved for our 38' fifth wheel. We were diverted to a 30 amp swampy site with a ratty picnic table and electric pole sitting in 4 inches of water.. This place is at sea level, near absolutely nothing and it floods during rains and king tides. We will never stay here again and recommend you make sure it is under new management and check reviews before selecting it.
Oct 07, 2023 · Laurelyn IrvingCedar Creek campground and Marina provided everything I needed and was a great experience . It is so far out the way it's not for everyone but I can tell you this, I had a lot of fun and the local people and hospitality here is like no other. You know, please.
Aug 13, 2024 · Travis SouleOnly stayed here one night in June 2022 on our way to the Ocracoke ferry. Too bad, as this is a very pleasant campground, well laid out with many large sites. Staff was very nice. If we had returned from up north on this route we would have stayed again. This was a great spot to overnight before catching the morning ferry which is is only about 12-15 minutes away.
