As you search for "camping near me," Central Oak Heights emerges as a distinctive destination, offering more than just a place to pitch a tent or park your RV. It's a step back in time, a haven of peace, and a place where quality family time truly shines. Our guests consistently praise the peaceful atmosphere, describing it as a place where the usual pressures of time seem to fade away, allowing for more meaningful connections and experiences.
One of the standout features of Central Oak Heights is its timeless charm. Unlike modern, amenity-laden resorts, our campground retains a vintage appeal, with many features dating back to the 1950s. This creates a nostalgic ambiance, particularly evident in the playground, which boasts the kind of tall, fast slide that evokes fond childhood memories. While some might expect a "run-down" feel, our guests consistently describe the atmosphere as special and well-maintained, a "hidden nook in the world that escaped the pressure of keeping up with the Joneses." The presence of a modern glass-top stove in the kitchen of some accommodations serves as a subtle reminder of updated convenience within this classic setting.
Central Oak Heights is particularly beloved for fostering quality family time. The environment encourages interaction and shared experiences. Children naturally gravitate towards outdoor play, whether it's splashing in the pool or enjoying the playground. Families often bring board games, take turns preparing meals in the communal or cabin kitchens, and simply enjoy being together without the distractions of constant activities. The campground strikes a perfect balance, offering enough space for individual retreat when desired, yet fostering a sense of togetherness.
The natural environment at Central Oak Heights is another significant draw. Abundant mature trees provide ample shade during the warmer months, helping to keep temperatures comfortable. This lush greenery contributes to the overall peaceful and secluded feel of the campground. It's important to note that our accommodations do not have heat or air conditioning, so we advise guests to check the weather forecast and pack accordingly. Due to the seasonal nature of the region, Central Oak Heights is typically closed during the winter months.
Beyond the campground itself, its location offers convenient access to local attractions. A major highlight for many of our guests is the proximity to Knoebel's Amusement Resort, a renowned family-friendly amusement park just a short drive away. Many families make a day trip to Knoebel's a tradition during their stay at Central Oak Heights. Additionally, the surrounding area is dotted with charming small towns offering opportunities for exploration and unique local shopping experiences.
While Central Oak Heights primarily caters to campers and those seeking a peaceful retreat, it also occasionally hosts outdoor programs that are open to the public. This creates a unique opportunity for both campers and local residents to engage in community events and enjoy the beautiful surroundings together.
Beyond leisure camping, Central Oak Heights also offers a truly special venue for events, as highlighted by a recent wedding ceremony held at the Sylvan Chapel within the community. The glowing review from the happy couple speaks volumes about the professionalism, efficiency, and accommodating nature of the Central Oak Heights team. From the initial booking process with Beckie to the seamless execution on the wedding day, every detail was handled with care and precision. The team's flexibility, particularly in addressing weather concerns and ensuring the comfort of guests, was greatly appreciated. The beautiful setting of the Sylvan Chapel itself provided a perfect backdrop for a memorable occasion. This testament suggests that Central Oak Heights can also cater to group events and potentially offer unique venue rentals beyond traditional camping.
In summary, if you're searching for "camping near me" and desire a peaceful, family-oriented experience with a touch of nostalgic charm, Central Oak Heights in West Milton, PA, is an ideal choice. Our campground offers a tranquil environment amidst mature trees, fostering quality time and connection. While our amenities lean towards a classic camping experience without heat or air conditioning in the accommodations, the natural beauty and the proximity to attractions like Knoebel's and local towns provide ample opportunities for enjoyment. The positive testimonials from our guests, many of whom return year after year, speak to the unique and cherished atmosphere of Central Oak Heights. We invite you to contact us at (570) 989-1204 or +1 570-989-1204 to plan your visit and discover the timeless appeal of Central Oak Heights for yourself.

Central Oak Heights Reviews
We recently had our wedding ceremony at the Sylvan Chapel within the Central Oaks Heights community and let me tell you, it was perfect! From the very beginning when I first spoke with Beckie about the options and booking it with them to the day of the wedding, everything was handled in a very efficient and professional manner. We had multiple phone calls to review all details leading up to it, and she made sure everyone was on the same page. During the rehearsal dinner we went to officially see it all in person (as we booked sight unseen from Kansas) and the whole place is absolutely gorgeous. There was a 80% chance of rain during the scheduled time of the ceremony, so her team also showed me a backup option on the premises that was equally as nice. They were so flexible with the day of in case we needed to move it in the hours leading up to it for rain, but thankfully it decided not to rain. They also covered the benches with white plastic to ensure they stayed dry and they looked very nice in pictures.I was beyond pleased with everyone from COH that we had the pleasure to meet and work with. Everyone was so very sweet, accommodating and overall just really great people. Thank you all for everything that made our big day absolutely perfect!
Jun 07, 2023 · Tamara WaltersWe go here every year for family vacation with my in-laws because it's a great place to go for quality family time. It's such a peaceful place; it's like time is less relevant here, but more valuable, if that makes sense.Being here is like going back in time. The kids play together outside in the pool or at the playground (which has the kind of slide I remember from my childhood - the tall, fast kind you never see anymore) and make memories together. Nothing here is new, and most things you see have been here since the 50's. The only exception I can think of is the glass top stove in the kitchen. It doesn't feel run-down though. It feels special, like a hidden nook in the world that escaped the pressure of keeping up with the Joneses. We bring board games and take turns making meals and have a great time just being together. There's enough to do that you can get away when you need to, but not so much to do that you never see each other. There's no heat or air conditioning, so pay attention to the forecast and dress appropriately. There are lots of trees, so that helps keep the temperature down in the summer, but the whole place is closed in winter months. It's close enough to Knoebel's that we usually spend a day there whenever we come here, and there are lots of small towns nearby to explore and shop in if you like. There are outdoor programs from time to time as well, and they are open to the public, so people from off campus come to those.
Jul 31, 2021 · Abigail KorfmannHad a family picnic there today. It's a great place. People we met were very friendly. And the place was so relaxing. I will tell all my friends about this place.
Jul 30, 2023 · Tina FeltyBetween my barbershop chorus, and now my Irish/Celtic group we've had the opportunity to perform here on their summer music series a number of times. It is always a pleasure to be invited, and share music here. An excellent community and very supportive of the local music scene. I absolutely recommend coming here for the music and in a beautiful/enjoyable setting!
