Columbia Park Introduce
For local residents in search of a "camping near me" experience that combines natural beauty with unique features and convenient amenities, we're pleased to introduce you to Columbia Park, located at N10340 Calumet Harbor Rd, Malone, WI 53049, USA. This park offers a well-maintained environment and a notable attraction: a tower that provides stunning views of Lake Winnebago and the surrounding area, making it a potentially ideal spot for a relaxing local getaway.
The environment of Columbia Park is described as "**nice**" and "**well-kept**" by visitors, suggesting a clean and pleasant setting for camping and outdoor activities. The park's key feature, highlighted in both reviews, is the presence of a "**tower one can climb to heat a great view of Lake Winnebago and surrounds**" and "**a tower that one can climb.**" This unique observation tower offers local campers the opportunity to ascend and enjoy panoramic vistas of the expansive Lake Winnebago and the surrounding landscape, providing a memorable visual experience right within the campground.
In terms of services and features, Columbia Park offers more than just camping. The presence of a "**nice, quiet campground too**" indicates that it caters to those looking for a peaceful overnight stay in the vicinity of Lake Winnebago. The quiet atmosphere suggests a relaxing environment where local campers can unwind and enjoy the natural surroundings without excessive noise. Additionally, the significant feature of the observation tower provides an activity for all ages, allowing visitors to appreciate the scale and beauty of the lake and the region from an elevated perspective.
A notable convenience mentioned by a reviewer is that "**There is an adjacent restaurant/supper club for a meal or drink.**" This proximity to a dining establishment offers local campers the option of enjoying a meal out without having to travel far from their campsite. Whether it's for a casual drink, a quick bite, or a more substantial supper, the adjacent restaurant/supper club adds a level of convenience and culinary choice to the camping experience at Columbia Park.
While one reviewer had hoped for extensive birdwatching opportunities, they noted that they "**was only able to observe 10 species.**" They further commented that "**it's not a great place to see wildlife as it is highly manicured and has lots of human traffic.**" This suggests that while Columbia Park offers a pleasant and well-maintained environment, it might not be the primary destination for serious wildlife enthusiasts seeking a secluded natural habitat. The "highly manicured" aspect implies a more developed park setting, which, while beneficial for cleanliness and accessibility, might limit the presence of diverse wildlife.
However, the same reviewer also stated that "**It's a good place to hang out with family,**" reinforcing the idea that Columbia Park is well-suited for family outings and gatherings. The combination of a safe and climbable tower offering scenic views, a quiet campground, and the convenience of a nearby restaurant makes it an attractive option for local families looking for a relaxed and enjoyable "camping near me" experience.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Columbia Park in the provided reviews. Local users interested in learning about camping fees, availability, specific campsite amenities (such as hookups for RVs, tent pad sizes, fire pits, etc.), and any seasonal offers should contact Columbia Park directly using the provided phone numbers: (920) 929-2933 or +1 920-929-2933. When calling, it would be beneficial to inquire about any park rules, hours of operation for the tower, and the operating hours and menu of the adjacent restaurant/supper club.
To gain a better understanding of the environment surrounding Columbia Park, local users might find it helpful to consult maps of the Lake Winnebago area. Lake Winnebago is a significant feature of the region, offering potential for water-based activities, although the reviews don't specifically mention direct lake access from the campground itself. The "Calumet Harbor Rd" address might indicate proximity to a harbor area, which could offer additional points of interest. Exploring the local area around Malone, Wisconsin, could reveal other attractions or amenities that enhance a camping trip to Columbia Park.
In conclusion, Columbia Park presents a well-kept and conveniently located "camping near me" option for local residents, particularly families. Its unique observation tower offering great views of Lake Winnebago is a significant draw, complemented by a quiet campground atmosphere. The adjacent restaurant/supper club adds a welcome element of convenience for dining. While not ideal for serious wildlife observation due to its manicured nature and human traffic, it appears to be a good place for a relaxing family outing with a memorable scenic highlight. Local users are encouraged to contact Columbia Park directly for details on camping arrangements and to plan their lakeside getaway with a view.

Columbia Park Reviews
Nice park with a tower one can [safely] climb to heat a great view of Lake Winnebago and surrounds. A nice, quiet campground too. There is an adjacent restaurant/supper club for a meal or drink.
Oct 08, 2024 · Dennis JonesWell-kept park with a tower that one can climb. I went here with hopes of birdwatching but was only able to observe 10 species. It's a good place to hang out with family, but not a great place to see wildlife as it is highly manicured and has lots of human traffic.
Mar 17, 2025 · BetoNice small park. Well kept, showers are decent. Playground is okay and tower offers a great view. Nearest bait is only a mile or two away. Ground is good for tents. Spots are fairly tight but okay. Boat launch is good. Cleaning station is okay.
