Lakeview RV Park and Cabins Introduce
When searching for "camping near me," local users in Wisconsin might come across Lakeview RV Park and Cabins, located at N4475 Ledge Rd, Chilton, WI 53014, USA. To provide an objective introduction based on available information, it's important to consider recent customer reviews to understand the potential environment, services, and features of this campground.
Based on the provided reviews, it appears that Lakeview RV Park and Cabins has faced significant criticism regarding several aspects of the camping experience. One recurring theme in the feedback is related to customer service and management. A reviewer explicitly warns others to "stay away from Lakeview if you are looking for a relaxing, fun weekend," citing an experience upon check-in where their group's pre-arranged sites were altered due to another camper's longer stay. This reviewer described the owner's demeanor as "incredibly rude and sharp," leading to an unwelcoming atmosphere throughout their stay. The sentiment expressed was strong, with the reviewer stating they would "avoid this place at all costs going forward and encourage fellow campers to do the same." They also pointed to the owner's responses to other negative reviews as further confirmation of their negative experience.
Another review echoed these concerns, labeling the place as "horrible" and not recommended. This feedback highlighted issues beyond just customer service. Specific complaints included a $5 per person charge for mini-golf at a facility described as having "holes and wasps." Furthermore, this reviewer reported a case of food poisoning within their family allegedly due to undercooked food from the campground, which also took an excessive amount of time to prepare (one hour for burgers). The limited menu availability, with "most of their menu not available," and an alleged overcharge of $20 on their order further contributed to a negative perception. This reviewer also described "bad customer service" and unfriendly seasonal campers. Regarding the physical environment of the campground, the review noted that "sites are flooded and most sites have no privacy," and the pool was described as "very small and doesn’t fit many people." While acknowledging the nice surrounding national parks and stores, the reviewer expressed disappointment with the campground itself.
The owner's response to the negative mini-golf review attempted to counter the claims by mentioning "caution tape" and asserting the $5 fee was accurate. However, the reviewer vehemently disputed this, stating that there were no caution tapes present during their visit and that their account of the $5 fee was indeed correct, implying the owner's response was an attempt to "make yourself look better by leaving that fake reply." This exchange further underscores the negative customer service experience reported.
Considering these reviews, it is challenging to objectively describe a positive environment or reliable services at Lakeview RV Park and Cabins based solely on this information. The feedback consistently points towards issues with customer service, site management, food quality, recreational facilities (mini-golf), and potentially the physical condition of the campsites (flooding, lack of privacy). The atmosphere appears to be perceived as "cold and very unwelcoming" by at least one reviewer.
Regarding features, the presence of RV sites and cabins is indicated in the name. The mention of a pool and mini-golf suggests some recreational amenities are intended to be available. However, the negative reviews cast doubt on the quality and usability of at least the mini-golf and the size of the pool. The availability and quality of other potential features, such as restroom facilities, laundry, or Wi-Fi, are not mentioned in the provided reviews, making it impossible to comment on them objectively.
No promotional information is included in the provided text. Therefore, it is not possible to introduce any current deals or special offers for local users.
In conclusion, based on the provided customer reviews, local users searching for "camping near me" should be aware of the significant negative feedback surrounding Lakeview RV Park and Cabins in Chilton, WI. The reviews highlight concerns about customer service, site management, food quality, recreational facilities, and the overall environment of the campground. While the campground offers RV sites and cabins and intends to provide amenities like a pool and mini-golf, the recent experiences reported by customers suggest potential issues with the quality and management of these aspects. Without additional positive or more recent information to balance these negative accounts, it is difficult to recommend Lakeview RV Park and Cabins for a relaxing or enjoyable camping experience. Local users are strongly advised to seek more information and potentially consider alternative campgrounds in the Chilton area based on the issues raised in these reviews.

Lakeview RV Park and Cabins Reviews
This is your warning to stay away from Lakeview if you are looking for a relaxing, fun weekend. Read other similar reviews… Our group tried this campground for the first time and paid to be in sites together. Upon check-in, someone was in one of our sites separating the group. The owner said well they are here longer so it’s up to us to move. She was incredibly rude and sharp in her tone. After this check-in experience, our group felt like we were walking on eggshells all weekend. the campground is cold and very unwelcoming. I will avoid this place at all costs going forward and encourage fellow campers to do the same. Look at their response to all other negative reviews if you need confirmation about this place.
Apr 08, 2025 · Brent KuehlHorrible place, don’t recommend. Paid $5 per person just to golf at a place with holes and wasps. The food gave one of my family members food poisoning, it was not cooked right and took 1 hour to finish cooking, they also only served burgers, most of their menu is not available and we got scammed to pay $20 more than what we ordered. Bad customer service and the seasonals are not the nicest. Sites are flooded and most sites have no privacy. The pool is very small and doesn’t fit many people. The national parks and stores and stuff around here are very nice, just wish the campground was nice too. RESPONSE TO OWNER: You say there was caution tape, but we all know you just put that up now, as there were no caution tapes there and plenty of people playing mini golf on the broken first few holes. You also said in your response that it is $5, and I said that! So I don’t think what I’m saying is “not true,” I KNOW everything I said was indeed the truth. Good try trying to make yourself look better by leaving that fake reply.
Jul 16, 2024 · thepoop queenThank you Carol and Mike for a terrific first experience in our RV!My wife and I had just purchased a fifth wheel and decided to test it out at Lakeview in the middle of November! Not only was Carol very responsive and accommodating, she made us feel comfortable as first timers in the dead of winter.Having their support made our first camper experience very enjoyable and relatively stress free. I say relatively because there is still a stress that comes with camping in single digit weather for your first time.We saw how beautiful and magical this place was in the winter so we will be back to visit in the summer! Thanks for the hospitality! We will be back!
Nov 23, 2022 · RJ de LeonWe stayed the weekend of October 27th. After having surgery a month ago I was looking for something relaxing to do away from people and after a google search I found this diamond in the ruff! For an amazing price I have to add. I knew it would be cold but our cabin was warm, clean, cozy, and just what I needed! I did read that there was no Wi-Fi which was not a big deal at all for me. I downloaded a bunch of Netflix movies to my laptop before hand. The bathrooms were always warm and clean and the showers were just plain awesome. The views were absolutely amazing! Carol the owner was so nice and accommodating. I can’t wait to go back this summer when I’m healed and everything is open.
Oct 31, 2023 · Shaneah LittelWe had a really good time here. I was there for three nights. The area and view of the lake was beautiful. We were in a camper with no bathroom so the extremely clean port o potties were greatly appreciated. The on site bar/restaurant had a very friendly and attentive staff and the prices were good. The Saturday we were there had a painting class that we unfortunately couldn’t partake in because we had planned our own craft project that day. Later Saturday they had some fun music outside next to the pool. The owners were friendly and took time to have fun with other campers.
