One of the standout features of Copper Creek Campground, consistently praised by visitors, is the sense of privacy afforded by the layout and the natural surroundings. The presence of "lots of big pine trees" not only contributes to a picturesque forest environment but also provides significant natural separation between campsites. This abundance of mature trees enhances the feeling of seclusion, allowing campers to enjoy a more intimate connection with nature and their own space. For those seeking a respite from crowded campgrounds, the privacy at Copper Creek seems to be a major draw.
The environment of Copper Creek Campground is further characterized by its natural beauty and ecological diversity. Reviewers specifically mention enjoying "birding and wildlife viewing," suggesting that the area is rich in local fauna. This makes it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts and families who appreciate observing animals in their natural habitat. The presence of Copper Creek itself adds to the natural appeal, although one review notes that "flyfishing the creek just so so" due to poor access caused by deadfall from a past fire. While the creek might not be a prime fly-fishing spot at the moment, the presence of flowing water still contributes to the ambiance and provides a cool element to the environment, as one camper noted, "creek was cold."
In terms of services and amenities, Copper Creek Campground appears to prioritize a well-maintained environment. One reviewer explicitly stated, "The bathrooms and grounds were very well maintained," which is a significant positive for camper comfort and hygiene. Clean and well-kept facilities can greatly enhance the overall camping experience. Beyond this, the reviews do not provide extensive details about other services. However, the positive mention of maintained grounds suggests a level of care and management that contributes to a pleasant stay.
The location of Copper Creek Campground offers a balance of seclusion and accessibility. Situated "8 miles off highway 200 and close to Lincoln, Mt," it provides a sense of being away from the main thoroughfare while still being within reasonable proximity to the town of Lincoln for any necessary supplies or local attractions. This location makes it a convenient "camping near me" option for residents of Lincoln and surrounding areas, as well as a potentially attractive stop for travelers on Highway 200.
While the fly-fishing in Copper Creek itself may be limited due to deadfall, the presence of the creek still offers other benefits, such as the soothing sound of flowing water and a place to cool off on warm days. One camper mentioned enjoying a hammock near the creek, highlighting its recreational and relaxation potential beyond fishing. The cool mornings reported by a visitor also suggest a comfortable climate during the summer months, making it an appealing escape from hotter inland areas.
The positive feedback from a camper who "Had a great time, even with the kids!" indicates that Copper Creek Campground is also family-friendly. The combination of natural beauty, space for children to explore, and the presence of a creek likely contributes to its appeal for families seeking an outdoor adventure. The warm sun and cool creek mentioned in the review paint a picture of an enjoyable summer camping experience for all ages.

Jul 21, 2024 · skip nielsenHad a great time, even with the kids! Sun was warm, creek was cold, hammock was comfy. Can't wait to go back. The bathrooms and grounds were very well maintained.
Jun 24, 2020 · Jamie Lyn6 glorious days in one of the most beautiful places in Montana. Hiking, swimming, critter watching, cooking over a campfire, a babbling brook....yep my idea of heaven.
Aug 03, 2021 · Kelly DinoNice campground, spaces are private, not right on top of each other. Cement tables on a concrete pad and a fire pit. Clean outhouses if your tenting it. Plenty of room for longer campers. Very beautiful, woodsie place to camp and not to far from the town of Lincoln. We will camp here again for sure.
Jun 13, 2023 · Jackie KellerWas a busy weekend when I stayed, and a little too close/crowded for my taste, but it's an excellent place for families, with a little creek for the kids to play in. - A lot of sound and activity during the days.
