County Bridge Campground Introduce
Seeking a "camping near me" option in the Canton, Pennsylvania area? Consider County Bridge Campground, located on Gleason Rd, Canton, PA 17724, USA. While a phone number is not provided in the information you sent, you can likely find contact details through online searches. Based on the limited recent customer feedback, County Bridge Campground offers some positive aspects, but there are also areas that potential visitors should be aware of.
Environment and Atmosphere:
One reviewer mentioned having an "overall great time," which suggests that the general environment of the campground is pleasing for some visitors. They also noted that the "sites were clean," which is a significant positive aspect for any camping experience. Cleanliness of the camping area contributes greatly to comfort and enjoyment of the outdoors.
However, another reviewer expressed a love for the location but pointed out a significant environmental concern: muddy conditions. They mentioned that after some trees were cut down near the bathroom during the winter, the area had become a "real mud hole." This reviewer also noted that driving equipment through the road seemed to have exacerbated the issue, resulting in both the sites and the road being "real muddy." This suggests that at certain times of the year, or following specific activities like tree removal, the ground conditions might be less than ideal, potentially impacting the overall camping experience, particularly in terms of cleanliness around high-traffic areas like bathrooms and accessibility along roads and campsites.
The cutting down of trees might also have altered the environment, potentially making some areas less shaded than before. The review doesn't specify the extent of the tree removal or its impact on the overall aesthetics or shade coverage of the campground.
Services and Amenities:
The provided reviews offer limited information about the specific services and amenities available at County Bridge Campground. The mention of a bathroom suggests the presence of at least basic sanitary facilities. However, details regarding the availability of showers, water hookups, electrical hookups, or other common campground amenities are not provided in these reviews. The reference to a website for checking availability implies that online booking or information is likely available, which is a service in itself.
One of the frustrations mentioned by a reviewer was related to the website. They noted that the "websites on availability not matching up" with the actual availability. This discrepancy could lead to booking issues and disappointment for potential campers who rely on the online information for planning their trips. Accurate and up-to-date information on availability is crucial for a smooth booking process.
The same reviewer also mentioned "higher processing and cancellation fees than expected." This financial aspect is an important service-related detail for potential campers to be aware of. Unexpected or higher-than-anticipated fees can detract from the overall experience, so it would be beneficial for the campground to have transparent and clearly communicated fee structures.
The second reviewer suggested a need for "more stones" to be put down, particularly in the area that became muddy after tree removal. This implies that the campground might use stones or gravel in some areas to manage ground conditions, and the reviewer felt that an extension of this practice would be beneficial in the newly muddy area.
Features and Highlights:
Based on the limited information, a potential highlight of County Bridge Campground is that the "sites were clean," at least according to one reviewer's experience. The fact that someone had an "overall great time" suggests that the campground has other positive attributes that are not explicitly detailed in these reviews.
However, the muddy conditions reported by another reviewer, particularly around the bathroom area and on roads/sites, could be a significant drawback depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
The availability of a website for checking availability is a modern convenience, although its accuracy has been called into question by one reviewer.
Areas for Potential Improvement:
Several areas for potential improvement can be identified from the reviews. Firstly, addressing the muddy conditions, perhaps by adding more stones or improving drainage, seems necessary to enhance the usability and cleanliness of the campground, especially around the bathroom area and along roads. Secondly, ensuring the accuracy of the website regarding availability is crucial for managing bookings and customer expectations. Lastly, transparency regarding processing and cancellation fees would help avoid frustration among campers.
Promotional Information (Based on Available Feedback):
Looking for "camping near me" in Canton, PA? County Bridge Campground offers clean campsites for your outdoor adventure. While one visitor had an "overall great time," please be aware that recent conditions have led to some muddy areas, particularly near the bathroom and on roadways. We recommend checking the latest ground conditions before your visit. Our website provides information on availability, though some users have noted discrepancies, so we advise confirming directly if your dates are critical. Please also be aware that processing and cancellation fees may apply. We are continuously working to improve our campground for the best possible experience. Come and enjoy the potentially pleasant environment of County Bridge Campground!
Given the mixed feedback, it would be wise for potential campers to seek more current information about the campground's conditions and policies before making a booking. Contacting the campground directly might provide the most up-to-date details on site conditions, availability, and any applicable fees.
In Conclusion:
County Bridge Campground in Canton, PA, offers the positive aspect of clean campsites, which contributed to an "overall great time" for at least one visitor. However, recent conditions have resulted in muddy areas, particularly around the bathroom and on roads, which could impact the camping experience. Additionally, there have been mentions of website inaccuracies regarding availability and higher-than-expected processing and cancellation fees. Potential visitors should weigh these factors when considering this "camping near me" option and might benefit from seeking more current information directly from the campground before their visit.

County Bridge Campground Reviews
Overall great time sites were clean. A couple frustrations being websites on availability not matching up and higher processing and cancelation fees than expected
Apr 06, 2025 · Shaylor's Ponds & PatiosI love it there but they need to put down more stones. They cut down some trees by bathroom this winter and it's a real mud hole now. Must have drove some equipment thru road. Sites and road are real muddy now.
May 07, 2023 · Barbara ClarkeVery good Campsite but it is run by The D.C.N.R. who collects a $ 10.00 a night fee a dump off for sewage, and water for washing dish's only no potable water , I have personally stayed there and although primative they have Rest Arms. W/M. But I have personally seen lots of Wildlife including Amer. Bald Eagles,Deer and occasionally a Black Bear and the Tioga River runs right through it, I f you enjoy fishing the place is right for a trout dinner at times,The only thing that annoyed me very little the rangers stop by to collect your money or a box on your honor but what was not discussed was senior citizens only have to pay $4.00 a day also for Handicapped Pers. Same rate $4.00 dol. I didn't know this untill I had p/u a S.S.Ben.Book in Towanda , you also are limited to the time your able to Camp but U can leave and come back after staying away 2 business days, though primitive I enjoyed it immensely Hunting is not allowed in Campsite area but many state game lands loaded wcreature and also big game, I do.
Jun 10, 2022 · Harry WitmayerI go here often. It's a nice place to have a picnic or a party! They have camping sites that are pretty close together. There are some trails to walk. Overall it's a nice place to be on a beautiful summer day
Jul 09, 2021 · Lana BoltI only stopped there to get some water, never camped or used the picnic area but it does look nice
