Crane Prairie Campground Reviews
We stayed at camp site #76 during the middle of the week for two nights. The site was amazing with direct access to the reservoir, which made it easy to get our dog some good water time and even his first SUP experience! The site had some shade and the pad was pretty level. The bathrooms were clean and the camp host was helpful and pleasant. The water closest to the site was disconnected, but the second closest water was still pretty close. The waste water disposal and trash were close by.
Aug 19, 2024 · Duke TuftyI booked a Guided Fishing Trip with Mike Roan through the resort for my Grandson and me. My hope was that by working with a guide I would be able to learn some secrets, but more importantly, my goal was to catch some fish with my Grandson.I have been there many times and have only been successful a couple of times. This Trip blew my expectations out of the water. My Grandson and I hooked 30 plus Fish and landed at least 20 in one day. Most were wild and let go, but we were able to bring home plenty of non-wilds.Mike was awesome and I would highly recommend him to anyone wanting to have a great day, catch some fish and meet a new friend.Everything was provided as promised. The Resort staff were helpful in every way including helping us doc and unload at the end of the day and Mike went out of his way to filet our catch when we finished and left us with an incredible memory. My Grandson told me that we caught over 20 Fish and didn't even smell fishy.I plan to do this again with Mike and would highly recommend that you should too.Thank you, Craine Prairie Reservoir, Craine Prairie Resort and most of all Mike Roan.Terry
Sep 10, 2024 · Terry MuirWhat a terrible experience. We booked a cabin here for my sister's birthday and man, was that a mistake. When we arrived and went upstairs we noticed wasps flying around inside the cabin. My brother killed 6 wasps before we decided to go tell the lady at check in. When I let her know we were concerned of a nest inside she said to me "well we have wasps here". Okay lady...when you're spending 155 dollars a night on a cabin you expect to be comfortable. She got someone out to take a look and there were in fact two nests hanging outside the cabin and they were getting in because there were holes and openings all over the cabin. In the beds there were pincher bugs and spiders and other critters EVERYWHERE!!! We heard another lady later on let them know there were bugs in their cabin covering the walls that they couldn't even see the walls. Her response was "well you must not ever go camping then". What a joke! My brother, sister and nephew couldn't even sleep upstairs so they slept on the floor of the cabin downstairs and were so uncomfortable. The second night they ended up pitching a tent at my parents RV site and not even staying in the cabin because it was so disgusting. I'm at a loss for words of the poor customer service and the cost of a stay that was so unenjoyable. Luckily my parents RV site was nice and we got to hangout with them there but whatever you do DO NOT rent a cabin. We were really hopeful for this location based off the pictures but sadly we will not be back. Oh and if you expect well maintained bathrooms and showers don't get your hopes up. I walked inside one of the bathrooms and ran outside and vomited because it was so repulsive.
Aug 08, 2024 · Feliceti HansenThe campground is beautiful and the location is impeccable. We gave three stars for a few reasons: 1. The bathrooms were incredibly disgusting. Gag-worthy smells upon entry. 2. We were in campsite 90 and it was infested with spiders and mosquitoes. Listen, we're camping people, we're used to bugs, but the spiders were descending en masse on our heads so much that we left after 1 day because we couldn't handle the constant bombardment. 3. The water access closest to our campsite was closed off because of Thatching Ants - kind of a bummer when we were there to be in the water.
Jun 23, 2024 · Hallie BalchTHE VIEW! Excellent campground. The ants are apparently a thing, so just be aware of them but wasn’t a huge issue. Having a store with ice and beer so close was very nice. Potable water was confusing, it’s only at the front of the campground. Massive campground.
