Crescent Creek Campground Introduce
Are you searching for "camping near me" in the scenic landscapes of Oregon? Consider Crescent Creek Campground, located near Crescent, OR 97733. This campground offers a blend of convenience and a tranquil, old-fashioned camping experience, making it a potential gem for both RV and tent campers looking for a peaceful getaway. Based on recent customer feedback, Crescent Creek Campground boasts spacious sites and a quiet ambiance, although access requires navigating a unique entry road.
Embracing the Natural Environment and Location
Crescent Creek Campground's location near Crescent, Oregon, places it within a region known for its natural beauty. While specific details about the immediate surroundings are not extensively provided in the reviews, the mention of being "just far enough away from the pass to avoid the heavy winds and weather" suggests proximity to higher elevations or mountain passes, likely offering scenic views and a sense of being immersed in nature. This strategic location provides a balance, offering access to the surrounding wilderness while potentially being sheltered from more extreme weather conditions often associated with mountain passes.
The campground itself is described as "nice, quiet, and old fashioned," evoking a sense of a traditional camping experience away from more modern and bustling campgrounds. This atmosphere can be particularly appealing to those seeking a more rustic and peaceful retreat. The presence of fire pits at each site indicates the opportunity for classic campfire experiences, perfect for cooking and enjoying the evenings under the stars. The availability of "nice flat sites with room for tents" confirms that the campground caters to both RVers and tent campers, providing versatile options for different camping preferences.
Services and Amenities: Back to Basics
The reviews provide insights into some of the essential services and amenities available at Crescent Creek Campground, highlighting a more traditional camping setup:
- Large Pull-Through RV Sites: A significant advantage for RV travelers, the campground offers "large pull through spots that can be reserved," making setup and departure easier, especially for larger rigs. One reviewer with a motorhome and car trailer confirmed that they fit perfectly in a pull-through site.
- Tent Sites: The presence of "nice flat sites with room for tents" ensures that tent campers have comfortable and suitable areas for their setups.
- Water Pump: The campground has a "hand pump for water," indicating a more rustic water source. One reviewer noted they "probably wouldn't drink it," suggesting that campers may want to bring their own potable water.
- Fire Pits: The availability of fire pits at each site allows for campfires and outdoor cooking, a quintessential part of the camping experience.
- Well-Kept Bathroom: One reviewer specifically mentioned a "well-kept bathroom," which is a significant plus for camper comfort and hygiene.
- Cell Service: For those who need to stay connected, one reviewer with AT&T reported a "great signal" with 3 to 4 bars, which can be a valuable amenity in more remote locations.
It's important to note what might be missing based on the reviews. There is no mention of electrical hookups, sewer hookups, or a dump station, suggesting that Crescent Creek Campground may be more geared towards self-contained RVs or tent campers who do not require these services. Similarly, there is no mention of showers, laundry facilities, or recreational amenities beyond the natural environment. Local users should contact the campground directly for a comprehensive list of available services and amenities if these are important to their camping experience.
Features and Potential Considerations
Crescent Creek Campground offers several appealing features:
- Spacious and Reservable RV Sites: The large pull-through sites, especially the option to reserve them, provide convenience and peace of mind for RV travelers.
- Quiet and Peaceful Atmosphere: The recurring description of the campground as "nice" and "quiet" makes it an attractive option for those seeking a tranquil escape from more crowded campgrounds.
- Suitable for Both RVs and Tents: The availability of both large pull-through sites and flat tent areas caters to a diverse range of camping preferences.
- Good Cell Service (AT&T): Reliable cell service can be a significant advantage for safety and staying connected, especially in more remote areas.
However, there is one crucial consideration highlighted in the reviews: the driveway into the campground. One reviewer described it as "a long narrow one lane gravel road" with "a few small pullovers." This could pose a challenge, particularly for larger RVs meeting other large vehicles, potentially requiring one party to back up. Campers with large RVs should be aware of this access limitation and exercise caution when entering and exiting the campground. It might be beneficial to inquire about the road conditions and potential for encountering other large vehicles when making reservations or calling ahead.

To further enhance its appeal to local campers, Crescent Creek Campground could consider:

- Offering Off-Season Rates or Local Resident Discounts: Incentivize local travel with special offers during less busy times of the year.

Crescent Creek Campground Reviews
This is a great campground. It would have gotten 5 stars, but the driveway in to the campground, is a long narrow one lane gravel road, has a few small pullovers if you meet someone, but if you have a large RV and meet another large RV one of you will have to back out. Not handy. The campground it self has large pull through spots that can be reserved. On this stay we just pulled in and we were the 2nd camper in the campground without reservations. We have a motorhome and a car trailer and we fit in a pull through perfectly. The campground is just a nice, quiet, and old fashioned type campground. Has water in a pump. Has fire pits. We will return to this campground.
Jun 30, 2024 · T KirkGreat location. Just far enough away from the pass to avoid the heavy winds and weather. Nice flat sites with room for tents. We'll kept bathroom. Has a hand pump for water, although I probably wouldn't drink it. I have AT&T and get 3 to 4 bars. Great signal.
Jun 16, 2024 · Steven NicovichWatch out for mosquitos!!! They are atrocious and swarm all over you. You can’t even relax. I’m sure it’s not like this throughout the entire year, but that’s the status now. Beautiful nature, clean bathroom pit toilet. It’s a small campground.
Jul 12, 2024 · Ashley McConnellThis was a beautiful place with approximately 7 campground sites and a public outdoor toilet running water and access to crescent Creek and some really good brook trout fishing I would recommend this to others
