Crystal Lake Campground Introduce
When local users in and around Moore, Montana, search for "camping near me," Crystal Lake Campground, located at 21970 Crystal Lake Rd, is a destination that promises a picturesque outdoor experience. Based on the feedback from actual campers, this campground offers a unique combination of natural beauty, spaciousness, and convenient access to the stunning Crystal Lake. Whether you're planning a family camping trip, a weekend getaway, or simply seeking a tranquil spot to enjoy the Montana wilderness, Crystal Lake Campground presents a compelling option worth exploring.
The environment of Crystal Lake Campground is consistently described as "beautiful" by visitors. The campground's most notable feature is its close proximity to Crystal Lake itself, with one reviewer mentioning that it's "only a short walk to Crystal Lake from the campground." This easy access to the lake is a significant draw, suggesting opportunities for various water-based activities such as swimming, fishing, and potentially boating or kayaking, depending on the lake's regulations. The presence of a lake as a central feature enhances the overall appeal of the campground, providing a scenic backdrop and opportunities for recreation and relaxation by the water's edge.
Adding to the allure of the environment, another reviewer highlighted that Crystal Lake is "it's very own little lake that is fed by a natural spring, the water is crystal clear!" This description paints a picture of pristine and inviting waters, likely ideal for swimming and enjoying the natural clarity. A spring-fed lake often implies cooler temperatures and a refreshing swimming experience, further enhancing the appeal for campers during the warmer months. The natural spring source also suggests a healthy and vibrant aquatic ecosystem, potentially attracting local wildlife and adding to the overall natural charm of the area.
In terms of the layout and spacing of the campsites, Crystal Lake Campground appears to prioritize the comfort of its guests. One reviewer noted that it's a "beautiful campground with plenty of room between spaces," while another mentioned that "there are many spots, but they are spaced far enough apart to have a comfortable experience." This emphasis on spaciousness is a significant advantage, as it allows campers to enjoy a greater sense of privacy and avoid feeling crowded, which can often be a concern in more densely packed campgrounds. The ample space between sites also provides more room for setting up camping gear, parking vehicles, and enjoying outdoor activities around your individual campsite.
However, one reviewer also pointed out a potential consideration for those seeking maximum privacy: "There's not a lot of trees between the campgrounds, so if you're looking for privacy, this likely isn't the campground for you." This is an important piece of information for local users to consider based on their personal preferences. While the spaciousness between sites is a plus, the lack of significant tree cover between them might mean less visual and auditory separation from neighboring campers. If a secluded and private camping experience is a top priority, visitors might need to choose their site carefully or consider alternative campgrounds with more dense vegetation.
The reviews do not explicitly detail the specific services and features offered at Crystal Lake Campground beyond the lake access and spacious campsites. Typically, campgrounds provide essential amenities such as restroom facilities (which may include flush toilets or vault toilets), potable water sources, and designated areas for trash disposal. Depending on the campground's development level, there might also be additional features like picnic tables, fire rings or communal fire pits, and potentially even showers or laundry facilities. Given the positive feedback regarding the overall beauty and comfort of the campground, it is reasonable to assume that it provides at least the basic amenities necessary for a pleasant camping experience. However, local users planning a visit should contact the campground directly at (406) 449-5201 or +1 406-449-5201 to inquire about the specific services and facilities available.

Crystal Lake Campground Reviews
Beautiful campground with plenty of room between spaces. There's not a lot of trees between the campgrounds, so if you're looking for privacy, this likely isn't the campground for you. It's only a short walk to Crystal Lake from the campground.
Aug 09, 2022 · Jon VerbeckThis is a beautiful campground with it's very own little lake that is fed by a natural spring, the water is crystal clear! There are many spots, but they are spaced far enough apart to have a comfortable experience.
Jul 18, 2022 · Nels CurtisJust a beautiful day drive!!!Noticed camping spots available.A little smoky from fires 🔥
Jul 23, 2024 · Robin LemmonAmazing spring-fed lake, lots of hiking, kayaking, etc. Only complaint is that all the trees in the campground have been cut down (assume from beetle kill and safety issues), so no shade and you can see everyone. But camping spots are spaced out quite well. Bathrooms are clean (CX) and there is fresh drinking water available.
Jul 12, 2020 · Sarah LeeVery quiet & peaceful. Removed some trees so you & yours can have camp fires safely without starting a forest fire.Remember what Smokey The Bear taught us; Only YOU Can Prevent Forest Fires!
