While specific contact information such as a phone number or website is not provided in the available data, the enthusiastic feedback highlights the environment, potential services, and features that make this campground a popular choice for families and individuals seeking a relaxing outdoor experience centered around Curtisville Lake.
The environment of Curtisville Lake and Campground is clearly a major draw for visitors. The presence of Curtisville Lake itself is a significant environmental feature, offering a picturesque backdrop for camping and various water-related activities. One reviewer explicitly mentioned "fishing 🎣!!!" as a highlight, indicating that the lake is likely stocked or naturally abundant with fish, making it an appealing spot for anglers of all levels. The exclamation marks and fishing emoji convey a strong positive sentiment regarding this aspect. Furthermore, another reviewer described the location as "Such a relaxing location," emphasizing the peaceful and serene atmosphere that campers can expect. The combination of a lake environment with opportunities for fishing suggests a natural setting conducive to both active recreation and quiet relaxation.
In terms of services and features, the reviews provide insights into what makes Curtisville Lake and Campground a desirable place to visit. The fact that one reviewer states, "We always go here for our family outings, and enjoy ourselves everytime," strongly suggests that the campground is well-equipped to accommodate families and provides a welcoming environment for group gatherings. This could imply the availability of spacious campsites, communal areas, or facilities that cater to families with children. The repeated enjoyment of their visits indicates a consistent positive experience, which speaks volumes about the quality of the campground.
Another notable feature mentioned is a "Perfect picnic area." This amenity would enhance the experience for day visitors and campers alike, providing a designated space for enjoying meals outdoors in a scenic setting. A well-maintained picnic area often includes tables, seating, and possibly shade, making it a comfortable spot for families and groups to gather and socialize. The description of it as "perfect" suggests that it is well-situated and contributes significantly to the overall enjoyment of the location.
One reviewer also mentioned a "Nice stroll in the lake." This phrase is somewhat ambiguous but could imply a few possibilities. It might refer to a shallow area of the lake suitable for wading or a leisurely walk along the shoreline. Alternatively, it could suggest the availability of a dock or pier that allows for a pleasant walk over the water. Regardless of the exact interpretation, it indicates that the lake offers more than just fishing and provides opportunities for gentle exploration and enjoyment of the water's edge. This adds to the overall appeal of the location as a place for relaxation and connecting with nature.
While the reviews are overwhelmingly positive, they are somewhat limited in the specific details they provide about the campground's amenities. There is no mention of the types of campsites available (e.g., tent-only, RV sites with hookups), restroom and shower facilities, availability of drinking water, fire pits, waste disposal, or other common campground services. The absence of this information means that local users considering a visit might need to seek additional details from other online sources or potentially by visiting the location to assess its suitability for their specific camping needs.
Similarly, the provided reviews do not contain any information about promotional offers, pricing for campsites or day use, or reservation policies. Local users interested in visiting Curtisville Lake and Campground would need to find a way to obtain this information, possibly through local tourism websites, social media if the campground has a presence, or by word-of-mouth from other campers in the area. The address provided might allow for online map searches to find more information or potentially contact details if available.
In conclusion, based on the enthusiastic reviews, Curtisville Lake and Campground in Mannington, West Virginia, appears to be a highly regarded local destination for "camping near me," particularly for families and those who enjoy fishing and relaxing by a lake. The environment is described as relaxing, with a perfect picnic area and opportunities for leisurely strolls in or along the lake. The repeated positive experiences of one family suggest a consistently enjoyable environment. However, the lack of specific details about the campground's amenities and services means that prospective visitors should seek additional information to ensure it meets their needs. Despite this, the strong positive sentiment in the reviews indicates that Curtisville Lake and Campground is likely a hidden gem for local outdoor enthusiasts looking for a peaceful lakeside retreat.

Jul 27, 2023 · TOD LGreat place to fish with the kids, theirs a decent boat ramp with a restroom. On the other end of the lake is a small area for tent camping. The only downfall to this lake is all the side-by-sides and atvs that speed through the area past the camp sites to go further up the hollar to ride, at times their can be 6 to 12+ passing through. If you have to walk the road any be aware of them! It's only a matter of time before someone gets hit!
