Indian Meadows Campground Introduce
For local users in West Virginia searching within the "camping near me" category, Indian Meadows Campground, located at 77 Days Run Rd in Fairview, WV 26570, USA, presents a location lauded for its natural beauty and community feel. However, recent reviews also highlight potential challenges regarding booking and site maintenance, requiring a balanced perspective for those considering a stay.
The environment surrounding Indian Meadows Campground is clearly a significant draw, with one reviewer enthusiastically describing it as "Almost Heaven, for sure!" The location is characterized by "farms all around" and an abundance of wildlife, such as "blackbirds aplenty," contributing to a "peaceful" atmosphere. The scenery is described as "absolutely breathtaking," suggesting that the campground is situated in a picturesque area of West Virginia, likely offering beautiful views and a tranquil rural setting. For those seeking immersion in nature and a break from the everyday hustle, the natural environment of Indian Meadows Campground appears to be a major positive aspect, particularly for those appreciating the beauty of the West Virginia countryside.
In terms of services and features, the information available paints a somewhat mixed picture. One positive aspect highlighted by a long-term camper is the presence of "wonderful family owners" and "great camp neighbors," fostering a sense of community within the campground. This suggests a friendly and welcoming atmosphere among the residents and potentially a personal touch from the owners. The campground seems to accommodate various types of camping, including travel trailers, with one reviewer mentioning being "tucked in for the season or longer," indicating the possibility of extended stays. However, one significant potential service issue raised by a reviewer concerns the booking process. Their experience involved a casual phone booking that was not acknowledged upon arrival, leading to considerable frustration and the inability to stay at the campground. This incident underscores the importance of obtaining written confirmation, such as an email, when making reservations at Indian Meadows Campground to avoid potential misunderstandings.
Several features of the campground itself received critical feedback in one of the reviews. The campsites were described as being "insanely close together," which might be a concern for campers seeking privacy and space. Additionally, the overall maintenance of the campground was questioned, with the reviewer stating that "it didn't seem to be well maintained" and even referring to it as a "dump." This suggests that potential visitors should be prepared for possibly less-than-ideal conditions in terms of upkeep. Furthermore, the cleanliness of the restrooms was specifically mentioned as being "not very clean" by the reviewer's children, which is a significant factor for comfort and hygiene during a camping trip.
While one reviewer found the location beautiful and the long-term residents welcoming, the stark contrast in the other review regarding booking issues, site maintenance, and restroom cleanliness presents a cautionary perspective. It's important for local users considering Indian Meadows Campground based on its scenic location to be aware of these potential drawbacks. The advice to obtain written booking confirmation is crucial, and expectations regarding site spaciousness and cleanliness should be tempered based on the available feedback.
Promotional information is not explicitly provided in the reviews. However, the fact that one reviewer chose to stay for an extended season suggests that the campground may offer competitive rates or a desirable long-term stay environment for some. Conversely, the negative experiences might deter potential short-term visitors despite any potential cost benefits. Local users would need to contact Indian Meadows Campground directly at (304) 449-4455 or +1 304-449-4455 to inquire about pricing, availability, and any specific promotions they might be offering. It would also be prudent to ask about their booking confirmation process and any recent updates to the campground's maintenance and facilities.
In conclusion, Indian Meadows Campground offers a potentially beautiful and peaceful location in Fairview, West Virginia, with a seemingly friendly community of long-term campers. However, potential local users searching within the "camping near me" category should be aware of reported issues concerning booking reliability and the maintenance and cleanliness of the campground. While the scenic environment is a significant positive, it is strongly recommended to secure a written booking confirmation and to have realistic expectations regarding the campsite conditions based on the recent feedback. For those prioritizing natural beauty and a welcoming community over potentially more polished facilities, and who take extra precautions with booking, Indian Meadows Campground might still be a viable option. However, further inquiry and perhaps even a brief visit beforehand could be beneficial to ensure it meets individual expectations for a "camping near me" experience.

Indian Meadows Campground Reviews
Almost Heaven, for sure! Beautiful location, great camp neighbors, wonderful family owners. We are in a travel trailer and are tucked in for the season or longer. Farms all around, blackbirds aplenty, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking, peaceful.
May 01, 2023 · Jo Lyn BurrisIf you are booking a site here, I would definitely recommend making them email you a confirmation. I booked over the phone about a week and a half before our stay. The owner was very casual about it and just took my name & number and confirmed the date and number of nights. I don't mind this kind of casual booking, we are road tripping across the country and I've had several campgrounds do this with no problems. However, when I showed up on the scheduled day, there was nobody working in the office. The other campers there were as nice and helpful as could be (in fact, they were so nice they made our whole day!). One of them offered to call the owner for me as I had no cell phone reception out there. The owner told me he had never spoken to me, didn't know what I was talking about or who I had spoken to. Said he was the only one running the place, so I couldn't have spoken to anyone else. I was irritated, but after having seen the campground I wasn't too disappointed to not be staying there (it was a dump). But when I got off the phone, I compared the phone # that the camper had called to my own phone record. It was the EXACT same # I had called to make a reservation. However, if you do get an actual reservation that the owner remembers, from my short time there I can say that it's in a BEAUTIFUL location. The campsites are insanely close together though, and it didn't seem to be well maintained. My kids went to use the restrooms while we were waiting and said that they were not very clean. And if you get there and the owner has no recollection of ever having spoken to you, then there is a nice wal-mart about 15 minutes away where you can stay for free like we did 😁
Jul 03, 2020 · Amy PolicarpioIf you want to listen to loud techno music until 5am this is the place for you. They have concerts there and let the bands play until very late at night. I would hate to see a family show up here to camp only to get blasted with techno all night.
Sep 28, 2023 · steve DavidsonThis place is a nightmare. It looks beautiful but loud inconsiderate neighbors make it an awful place to be. We left early and it was worth the lost money not to stay another day there.
Oct 08, 2023 · SarahVery cool property to camp, set rvs or trailers to relax, get away from town or see a festival, cookout...rolling hills, spread areas, sewage and elec hookups.
