Firehouse RV Campgrounds

1483 Jefferson Rd, Jefferson, PA 15344, USA

4.0
The monthly rate is reasonable, and the rent helps support the fire department. Less than 10 miles to Waynesburg, Pa. which offers retail establishments such as Walmart, restaurants, etc. After staying at the park for over a year, the biggest issue I have experienced is one neighbor who plays his music too loud and the same person allowed to run his tractor and trailer for hours in the park creating a bad health environment especially the tenants with respiratory issues. The park is operated by the fire department, and you would think they would not allow such practices in which creates such a poor health environment for the remainder of the neighborhood. - Gary Swope

Firehouse RV Campgrounds Introduce

For local residents and RV travelers seeking "camping near me" in southwestern Pennsylvania, Firehouse RV Campgrounds, located at 1483 Jefferson Rd in Jefferson, PA (15344, USA), offers a functional option with a unique connection to the local community. You can reach them at (724) 883-3901 or via mobile at +1 724-883-3901 to inquire about their rates and availability.

Based on the available customer reviews, Firehouse RV Campgrounds presents a somewhat mixed experience. One long-term resident of over a year highlights a significant positive aspect: the "reasonable" monthly rate, which also contributes to supporting the local fire department. This unique feature may appeal to those who value community support alongside affordability. The campground's location is also noted as being less than 10 miles from Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, which offers convenient access to retail establishments such as Walmart and various restaurants, providing essential amenities for campers.

However, this same long-term resident also points out a major concern experienced during their stay: issues with a neighbor exhibiting disruptive behavior. This includes playing loud music and operating a tractor and trailer for extended periods within the park. The reviewer expresses concern about the resulting "bad health environment," particularly for tenants with respiratory issues, and finds it surprising that the fire department, as the operator of the park, would seemingly allow such practices. This suggests potential inconsistencies in enforcing rules and ensuring a peaceful environment for all campers.

Another reviewer, who stayed for a single night as a stopover during a longer trip, described the location as having "nothing fancy" about it. Their late-night arrival was met with a less than tranquil atmosphere, noting that other campers were awake with "very load music, profanity, and foul language being screamed at each other." This paints a picture of a potentially noisy environment at times, which may not be suitable for those seeking a quiet and restful stay. The reviewer also observed many "season" campers but few actively camping that evening and did not assess the facilities. Furthermore, they reported a lack of thorough check-in procedures, as no contact information beyond a first name was obtained, and a feeling that their reservation was forgotten when they communicated a late arrival.

Considering the platform category "camping near me," Firehouse RV Campgrounds offers a geographically convenient option for those in the Jefferson and Waynesburg areas. The reasonable monthly rates and the benefit of supporting the local fire department could be attractive to some. However, the reported issues with noise, disruptive neighbors, and potentially inconsistent management practices are important factors for prospective local users to consider.

Information regarding the specific environment of Firehouse RV Campgrounds is limited. The address indicates a location on Jefferson Road in a rural area of Pennsylvania. The proximity to Waynesburg suggests a setting that is not entirely isolated but still offers a camping experience. The presence of long-term residents with RVs implies designated parking or hookup sites. The mention of a neighbor operating a tractor and trailer within the park hints at potentially open or less formally organized spaces. Without further details, it's difficult to describe the natural surroundings, such as trees, terrain, or specific amenities related to the environment.

The services and features of Firehouse RV Campgrounds can be inferred from the reviews, although a comprehensive list is not provided:

  • Monthly RV site rentals are available at a "reasonable" rate.
  • Electrical hookups are implied by the mention of monthly tenants and the neighbor operating a tractor and trailer.
  • Water and sewer hookups are likely necessary for long-term RV residents, although not explicitly stated.
  • A dump station is presumably available for RV waste disposal.
  • The campground is operated by the local fire department, suggesting a community-oriented approach, although this may not always translate to strict enforcement of campground rules.
  • Proximity to retail establishments and restaurants in Waynesburg, PA (less than 10 miles away), provides access to off-site amenities.
  • The presence of "season" campers indicates the possibility of longer-term or recurring stays.

The second reviewer's experience suggests a lack of structured check-in procedures for short-term guests. Information about other common campground amenities, such as restroom and shower facilities, laundry, recreational areas, or Wi-Fi, is not available in the provided reviews. Local users should inquire about these specifics when contacting the campground.

Promotional information is limited. The most significant "promotion" appears to be the reasonable monthly rates for RV sites and the fact that the rent supports the local fire department. This could be a strong selling point for community-minded individuals seeking affordable long-term RV parking in the area. The proximity to Waynesburg's amenities could also be considered a promotional aspect, offering convenience for shopping and dining.

However, the negative experiences shared in the reviews should also be considered by prospective local users. The potential for noise issues, disruptive behavior from other campers (and a lack of consistent enforcement), and a potentially disorganized check-in process for short-term stays are important drawbacks to be aware of.

To obtain a more complete picture of Firehouse RV Campgrounds, local users should contact them directly to inquire about:

  • Daily, weekly, and monthly rates.
  • Specific amenities available (restrooms, showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, recreational areas).
  • The number and type of campsites available (RV hookups, tent sites if any).
  • Rules and regulations regarding noise and disruptive behavior.
  • Check-in procedures for short-term guests.
  • Any specific services or features offered to long-term residents.

In conclusion, Firehouse RV Campgrounds in Jefferson, PA, offers a potentially affordable option for RVers, particularly those seeking monthly rates, with the added benefit of supporting the local fire department. Its proximity to the amenities of Waynesburg is also a plus. However, potential drawbacks such as noise issues, disruptive neighbors, and inconsistent management practices, as highlighted in the customer reviews, should be carefully considered. Local users are advised to contact the campground directly to gather more information and assess whether it meets their specific needs and expectations for "camping near me." The unique aspect of supporting the fire department may be a significant draw for some, but it's essential to weigh this against the potential for a less than ideal camping environment based on the experiences of other guests.
