This picturesque environment provides a relaxing backdrop for your camping adventure. The campground is described as "simple" and "nearby," suggesting it’s an accessible option for those in the local area seeking a quick escape to nature. When you're looking for "camping near me," the services and features of a campground are crucial. Don Laine Campground appears to offer several appealing aspects. One significant positive highlighted by reviewers is the "nice staff," which can greatly enhance your overall experience. The campground is also "pets allowed," making it a great option for those who like to travel with their furry companions. Additionally, the mention of "reasonable priced" suggests that Don Laine Campground offers good value for money, making it an attractive choice for budget-conscious campers.
One delightful feature mentioned in the reviews is the availability of "ice cream," a treat that can be particularly enjoyable on a warm camping day. While the reviews don't detail specific amenities like hookups, restrooms, or recreational facilities, the positive comments about the views and staff suggest a focus on the natural camping experience with friendly service.
However, some points of consideration were also raised by visitors. One reviewer noted that on their weekend visit, "kids were running rampant" and "other nearby campers were loud and had music blaring all the way beyond midnite." This suggests that the noise levels might vary depending on the time of visit and the other campers present. Another concern was that "a few dogs were not leashed," which could be a consideration for those with pets or those who prefer all animals to be restrained. Lastly, a safety concern was mentioned regarding the bathhouse, which reportedly had "no outside lighting" making it necessary to navigate in "pitch black darkness."
Despite these drawbacks, the overall sentiment from at least one reviewer was positive, stating, "Overall I would visit again with hopes of less noise late at night." This indicates that the positive aspects of Don Laine Campground, such as the beautiful views and reasonable prices, outweigh some of the temporary inconveniences experienced.

Mar 20, 2025 · John MerrickDon Laine campground is in a beautiful setting in the Poconos. With scenic views looking out over the mountains and well maintained campsites. We have been coming here for 40 years and have been pleased with every trip. Prices have remained reasonable all theses years.
Aug 12, 2024 · Chuck BeecherJust visited friends of ours for the day .Nice campground but campers are set up to close to each other in certain areas
Sep 20, 2024 · Ray FlyteWe had a campsite for our motorhome, A16. Person who checked us in was adequate but was not interested in answering our questions about the surrounding area. Campsite was adequate, with electric, water and sewer. Many seasonal campers there, friendly and helpful. However, was dismayed by small grouping of confederate flags on higher campsites in the woods. Is a 30 minute drive to Jim Thorpe. Shoo-fly pie purchased from their in-store baker was the best we have ever had. Would go back for that alone. Beautiful countryside views.
Oct 19, 2023 · Dwight MichaelA nice, family-friendly, dog friendly Campground. Prices are beyond reasonable. The dinner platters and menu items are phenomenal for being a small home type like kitchen. The meatloaf is the best!!! If you're looking for a cheap little getaway that is close to home but gives you the feel of being so far away, this is the place for you!
