Don's Cab-Inns Campground Introduce
Looking for a "camping near me" experience in the Roanoke, Virginia area that offers a blend of spacious RV sites and charming cabin rentals? Consider Don's Cab-Inns Campground, located at 55 Chestnut Ridge Rd, Roanoke, VA 24014, USA. Based on customer reviews, this campground provides a quaint and welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff and clean facilities. Whether you are traveling in an RV or prefer the comfort of a tiny cabin, Don's Cab-Inns Campground appears to be a solid option for your next outdoor adventure in Virginia.
The environment at Don's Cab-Inns Campground seems to be well-regarded by visitors. One reviewer who stayed in an RV site noted that the spaces were spacious and didn't feel crowded, which is a significant plus for RV travelers who appreciate having room to maneuver and set up their campsite comfortably. The overall impression from the reviews is that the campground is "cute and quaint," suggesting a charming and perhaps smaller scale operation that prioritizes a pleasant aesthetic. While specific details about the natural surroundings (such as wooded areas, open fields, or proximity to specific natural attractions) are not extensively described, the positive comments about the spaciousness of the sites and the general ambiance indicate a comfortable and potentially scenic setting in the Roanoke region.
Don's Cab-Inns Campground offers a range of services to accommodate different types of campers. For RVers, the campground provides RV sites, and one review mentions that at least some sites (like Site 3) offer spaciousness. However, it's important to note a couple of specific details regarding RV hookups. The electrical box on at least one even-numbered site was located quite far from the parking area, necessitating a longer electrical cord for some RVs. Additionally, the water service appears to be centralized, meaning that RVs cannot stay continuously hooked up to the water supply during their stay. This might require a different approach to water usage for RV campers. On the other hand, the restroom and shower facilities are consistently praised, with one reviewer stating they were "clean and some of the best I’ve experienced." This is a significant amenity for all campers, whether in RVs or cabins, highlighting the campground's commitment to hygiene and comfort in these shared spaces. For those opting for cabin rentals, the "tiny cabin" was described as clean and having all the requested items, suggesting that these units are well-maintained and equipped with basic necessities for a comfortable stay. The bathhouse for cabin users is accessible via key codes, offering individual private showers that are also reported to be "super clean," further emphasizing the cleanliness of the facilities.
The features of Don's Cab-Inns Campground include both site-specific amenities and general campground attributes. The spacious RV sites are a notable feature, providing more room and privacy compared to some more tightly packed campgrounds. The availability of tiny cabin rentals offers an alternative to traditional camping, providing a sheltered and potentially more comfortable lodging option. The pet-friendly policy, mentioned in the context of the tiny cabin being pet-friendly and reasonably priced, is a significant feature for travelers with animals. The exceptionally clean restrooms and private showers in the bathhouse are a standout feature that receives high praise from multiple reviewers, indicating a well-maintained and comfortable amenity for all guests. Another feature, although noted as a potential con, is the check-in process. Check-in is located at the visitor center, and for arrivals after 7 pm, directions to access cabins are provided in a box on the backside of the visitor center. While this system works, one reviewer suggested that an email with check-in instructions would be helpful for smoother arrivals, indicating a minor area for potential improvement in guest communication.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information mentioned in the provided reviews for Don's Cab-Inns Campground. To inquire about any potential discounts, seasonal offers, or package deals, it would be best to contact the campground directly using the provided phone number. Given the positive feedback regarding the cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff ("Super friendly staff"), and the overall positive experiences ("worth every penny" in a similar review for a different campground), it suggests that the campground offers good value for the price. For local users searching for "camping near me" in Roanoke, VA, Don's Cab-Inns Campground presents itself as a welcoming and well-maintained option with spacious RV sites and cozy cabin rentals. The emphasis on cleanliness and friendly service, coupled with its pet-friendly policy, makes it an attractive choice for a variety of campers. While the check-in process after hours might require a bit of extra attention, the overall positive experiences reported by guests indicate a pleasant stay awaits at Don's Cab-Inns Campground.

Don's Cab-Inns Campground Reviews
Stayed in RV Site 3. The spaces were spacious and didn’t feel on top of each other. However, the electrical box was set pretty far from the even site so we had to get a longer electrical cord. The water is centralized and you can’t stay hooked up during your stay. The restrooms/showers were clean and some of the best I’ve experienced.
Apr 26, 2025 · BT OCute and quaint! Super friendly staff. The tiny cabin was clean and had all the things we asked for. Pet friendly for a good price. Bathhouse is accessible by key codes for an individual private shower and was super clean! The only con was it was difficult to know how to check in. It would have been super helpful to have an email of instructions. Check-in is at the visitor center. After 7 pm, your package of directions to access the cabin is in a box on the backside of the visitor center.
Jun 03, 2024 · Sarah DacchilleEnjoyed every bit of the peace and quiet spend at this great place. The restroom was clean, and the campground was awesome. The cabin was very nice. My husband and I will return.
Feb 15, 2024 · Evelyn GreenIncredible experience we went directly after the Helene aftermath and Don was an exceptional host he helped get our fires started in the evening and even though our power was out our group had a great time. The Yurts we stayed in were very cozy the beds were nice. The bathroom in each yurt were very clean. Although we couldn't use them every Yurt had a Microwave and a Fridge too! I will be returning again in the future !
Oct 01, 2024 · Nicholas Greco100% would recommend staying in the mini cabins here. The cabin was clean and unique, the instructions were clear, bathrooms were impeccable. There is a sink on the outside of the bathhouse for your water needs. There is a little camp store and the owners were the sweetest people. This campground sits in the middle of a beautiful park with miles of mountain bike trails. They are not the most premier trails I've ever ridden, but they are trails nonetheless. I am marking this place down as a "would return".
