The environment at Fancy Hill Campground is consistently described as "very peaceful and serene" and a "beautiful place to set up camp." One reviewer specifically mentioned that the campsites were "beautiful on the river," indicating that a significant draw of this campground is its riverside locations, likely offering scenic views and the soothing sounds of flowing water. The fact that one couple had the "place to themselves" during their April stay suggests a sense of privacy and quietude, further enhancing the serene atmosphere. Even when not entirely empty, the sites appeared to have "adequate space between them," which is a notable advantage compared to more crowded campgrounds, ensuring a more private and enjoyable experience for each camper. The mention of being on "Peace Valley Road" also aligns with the overall impression of a tranquil setting.
In terms of services and facilities, Fancy Hill Campground seems to provide essential amenities with a focus on cleanliness and convenience. The availability of "plenty of firewood" is also mentioned, indicating that campers can easily enjoy campfires, a quintessential part of the camping experience. Furthermore, the campground offers the option of staying in "cabins" that are particularly unique because they were "built using lumber from their property!" This detail not only speaks to the history of the land but also suggests a rustic and authentic charm to these cabin accommodations, making them something to look forward to for future stays.
A recurring theme in the reviews is the exceptional quality of the hosts. They are described as "awesome" and "extremely friendly," even including a friendly dog as part of the staff! The hosts' warmth and hospitality seem to significantly enhance the camping experience, with one reviewer noting that their awesomeness, combined with the family history of the grounds, made the stay even better. This personal touch and the connection to the land's history add a unique dimension that goes beyond just a place to camp.
The pricing is also mentioned positively, with one reviewer stating, "Good price, too. I recommend." This suggests that Fancy Hill Campground offers a good value for the experience provided, making it an even more attractive option for local users looking for an affordable and enjoyable camping trip.
While the reviews highlight the river campsites, clean porta potty, available firewood, and the prospect of unique cabins, they do not explicitly detail other amenities such as shower facilities, water hookups at campsites, or specific recreational activities within the campground itself (beyond enjoying the river). Fancy Hill Campground Reviews
Very peaceful and serene! The hosts are awesome and the family history on the grounds makes it an even better experience. The campsites were beautiful on the river. We look forward to staying in one of their cabins in the future that were built using lumber from their property!
Nov 15, 2023 · Caroline PirchnerMy boyfriend and I stayed here back in April, we had the place to ourselves so it was super quiet but even so, the sites appeared to have adequate space between them unlike some campgrounds I have been to. Porta potty was very clean and well stocked. Plenty of firewood available. Extremely friendly staff (including dog). Good price, too. I recommend.
Sep 16, 2023 · Amanda JolyHad the absolute best experience. The nicest family owns it. Stop by the general store to meet the sweetest old man. He brought us dinner to our campsite because he thought we needed it. So so sweet 1000/10 would go again
May 22, 2023 · Hailey TomlinThis place was so beautiful and peaceful. The owners went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. We can't wait to go back and do it again! This will be our go to place for camping in the area.
