Kirby Landing Introduce
For local residents in Arkansas and surrounding areas seeking a "camping near me" experience near Kirby, AR, Kirby Landing, situated at 224 Kirby Landing Rd, Kirby, AR 71950, USA, and reachable by phone at (870) 285-2151 or mobile at +1 870-285-2151, presents a location with varied recent feedback. While one review highlights its beauty and peacefulness, another expresses concerns about its current state, particularly regarding noise levels from dogs and the condition of some facilities. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of Kirby Landing based on these contrasting customer experiences to help local users make informed decisions.
The environment of Kirby Landing appears to have been a significant positive aspect for at least one recent visitor. Described as "immaculate" and "beautiful," the park seems to offer an aesthetically pleasing natural setting. The mention of it being "springy in the Spring" suggests that the campground benefits from the seasonal beauty of the region during springtime, likely featuring pleasant weather and possibly blooming flora. The initial positive review also notes it as being "very nice and quiet," indicating that at least during some visits, the campground provides a serene atmosphere conducive to relaxation. Given the name "Kirby Landing," it is reasonable to infer that the campground is located near a body of water, potentially a lake or river, which could contribute to the scenic beauty and offer opportunities for water-related activities. Local users seeking a visually appealing and potentially tranquil natural environment might find aspects of Kirby Landing attractive.
However, a more recent review paints a different picture regarding the services and overall atmosphere. This visitor describes the place as "going down hill" and likens it to a "giant dog park" due to excessive noise from dogs and a perceived lack of enforcement of dog rules, with dogs reportedly off-leash everywhere. This directly contradicts the earlier positive mention of quietness and suggests a significant potential issue for local users seeking a peaceful camping experience. The later review also raises concerns about the condition of the showers, describing them as being in "not good shape" with lukewarm water and falling shower curtains. These comments indicate a potential decline in the maintenance and quality of some essential facilities at the campground. While the availability of showers is a standard expectation for many campgrounds, their reported condition at Kirby Landing could be a deterrent for some local campers. The negative review also explicitly states that the "park needs better management," suggesting a perceived lack of oversight in addressing issues such as noise and facility maintenance.
The features of Kirby Landing are somewhat ambiguous given the conflicting reviews. The initial positive feedback emphasizes its beauty and potential for a quiet stay, suggesting that natural beauty might be a key feature. If the campground is indeed located near a lake or river as implied by its name, access to water-based activities such as fishing, boating, or swimming could be another significant feature, although this is not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. However, the more recent negative review highlights the prevalence of unleashed dogs and the poor condition of the showers as prominent features, albeit undesirable ones. For local users who are traveling with dogs, the apparent lack of leash enforcement might be seen as a feature, though it is clearly a negative aspect for those seeking peace and quiet. The potential for a lack of management oversight, as suggested by one reviewer, could also be considered an indirect feature impacting the overall guest experience. Therefore, while the natural setting might be a positive feature, the issues with noise and facility maintenance could detract significantly from the overall appeal.
Currently, there is no explicit promotional information provided for Kirby Landing in the given reviews. The initial positive comment could be seen as organic promotion, highlighting the beauty and potential tranquility of the park. However, the more recent and critical review serves as a cautionary note, potentially counteracting any positive impressions. For local users searching within the "camping near me" category, the contrasting feedback suggests the importance of seeking more up-to-date information from various sources before making a decision. There is no mention of special rates, seasonal offers, or specific amenities that might be promoted by the campground itself. Local residents interested in Kirby Landing might need to contact the campground directly using the provided phone numbers to inquire about the current conditions, pet policies, facility status, and any ongoing promotions or management changes.
For local residents in the Kirby, AR area and those exploring "camping near me" options, Kirby Landing at 224 Kirby Landing Rd presents a location with mixed recent reviews. While one visitor found it to be immaculate, beautiful, and quiet, another reported a decline in quality, citing excessive noise from dogs and poorly maintained showers. This discrepancy suggests that the experience at Kirby Landing might vary depending on the time of visit or changes in management and enforcement of rules. Local users considering this campground should weigh the potential for a beautiful natural setting against the reported issues with noise and facility conditions. It would be prudent to seek more current feedback from additional sources or contact the campground directly to get a clearer understanding of the present situation before planning a stay.
In conclusion, Kirby Landing near Kirby, AR, offers a location that has been described as both beautiful and problematic by recent visitors. The potential for a scenic and quiet environment, particularly in the spring, is contrasted by concerns about noise from unleashed dogs and the poor condition of the showers. The need for better management is also highlighted in one review. Local users searching for "camping near me" should be aware of these conflicting reports and consider seeking more current information to determine if Kirby Landing meets their expectations for a local camping experience. Direct contact with the campground might provide the most up-to-date details on the environment, services, features, and any ongoing efforts to address the concerns raised by recent visitors.

Kirby Landing Reviews
Immaculate, Beautiful 😍 park. Very nice and quiet. Springy in the Spring. Loved our stay.
Apr 18, 2025 · Leah StiggePlace is going down hill. This place is like a giant dog park! No peace and quiet bc nobody shuts up their dogs! Dog rules are not enforced. Dogs off leash everywhere. Showers are not in good shape. Water was lukewarm shower curtains are falling down. Park needs better management for sure.
Apr 12, 2025 · Bethany HuffA nice campground surrounded by the lake, green grass and tall tree. With a boat launch, swimming beach, restrooms and showers close by. Well maintained by the Corp. The lake I’m told is a Crappy fishing lake with plenty of fish.
Apr 14, 2024 · SantiagoAn absolutely beautiful campground! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, low-key camping experience l.
Mar 27, 2025 · Sara LeneakWe picked this camp ground because it was well situated between Crater of Diamonds and Wegner Crystal Forest. I can honestly say this is one of the best cramp grounds I've been to in a long time. The sites are well kept, level, easy to navigate, and very spacious! I didn't feel like we were "on top" of others. Very relaxing stay. The only thing that would have made this any better was if it has sewer hook ups as well, there is a dump station but having 3 kids and 2 adults you know how that goes. We are looking to come back in the summer to ride the trails too!
