Fourth of July Campground

Wise River, MT 59762, USA

4.0
Located along the Scenic Byway between Wise River & Polaris, MT. *There are no pull thru sites here.* One of my favorite campgrounds in the area. Sites 1-2 are actually a combined spot that is great for groups or single large 5th Wheels/ToyHaulers/RV's. Two picnic tables & two fire rings. The rest of the sites are singles & there is also a few day use picinic sites. Pros : Quiet, low thru traffic, the wise river flows along the east side, decent fishing, clean sites, fresh water via hand pump, 2 newer updated outhouses & close enough to the town of Wise River if you want to let someone else do the cooking. Cons : Only one I can think of is the lack of trees which means very limited shade. Things To Do : Fishing, visit Coolidge Ghost Town and/or Crystal Park, access to several high altitude mountain lakes via the Lacey Creek or Odell Trailheads & of course floating/fishing the beautiful Big Hole River. Things To Know : A mere $8 per night to stay, mosquitoes are usually terrible mid June thru July & all the campgrounds in the area will be filled up on holiday weekends. Thanks !! - WES406 “Spitzo”
