Faria Beach Park Introduce
For local users exploring the "Camping Near Me" platform in search of a coastal camping experience, Faria Beach Park, located along the Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura, California, presents a beachfront option with a mix of features and considerations. This campground offers direct access to the coast and provides certain amenities that may appeal to some campers, while feedback from recent visitors highlights areas where expectations might need to be managed.
Beachfront Environment and Access: Faria Beach Park's primary draw is its location right on the coast. Campers can enjoy the experience of being situated next to the ocean, with the beach just a short distance away. Access to the beach is facilitated by cement steps leading down from a rock retaining wall that separates the campground from the sandy shore. According to one reviewer, there is "lots of sand when tide is low," suggesting that the beach experience can vary depending on the tidal conditions. The presence of a rock retaining wall might offer some separation and perhaps a degree of protection from direct wave action, but it's also noted by one camper as obstructing the ocean view to a significant extent.
Amenities and Services Available: Faria Beach Park does offer several amenities that can enhance a camping stay. A cafe is located within the park, providing a convenient option for meals or snacks. The presence of "clean bathrooms" is a significant positive for many campers, contributing to a more comfortable experience. Additionally, showers are available for a nominal fee of 75 cents. These basic but essential facilities can make a beach camping trip more manageable, especially for longer stays.
For pet owners, Faria Beach Park offers a welcoming environment. Dogs on leashes are allowed, and the park even provides a designated "grass dog area" equipped with bags for waste disposal. This thoughtful amenity makes it a viable option for local campers who wish to bring their furry companions along on their coastal getaway. Picnic benches are also available, offering convenient spots for enjoying meals outdoors, and day-use areas and parking cater to visitors who may not be camping overnight but still want to enjoy the beach access and park facilities.
The staff at Faria Beach Park are described by one reviewer as "very friendly," which can significantly contribute to a positive overall experience. Helpful and accommodating staff can make a difference in resolving any issues and ensuring a pleasant stay.
Features and Potential Drawbacks: The key feature of Faria Beach Park is undoubtedly its beachfront location, offering the opportunity to camp right on the coast. The pet-friendly policy and the provision of a dog area are also notable advantages for dog owners. The availability of a cafe, clean restrooms, and showers add a level of convenience that some other basic beach camping spots might lack.
However, it's crucial to consider the less positive feedback from other visitors. One reviewer expressed strong dissatisfaction, stating they "do not get the 4+ rating" and found the park to be "noisy and not that clean." This highlights a potential inconsistency in the upkeep or the overall atmosphere of the campground. The same reviewer also noted that "sites are very close," which could lead to a less private and potentially noisier camping experience. The presence of "locals with guests" and "too many generators in non-electric sites" further contributed to the noise issue and might detract from the natural ambiance that some campers seek.
The obstructed ocean view due to "largely obstructed with boulders" is another significant drawback mentioned by this reviewer, which might be disappointing for those primarily seeking panoramic coastal vistas. Additionally, the "very unfriendly cancelation/ change police" and the fees incurred for modifying a reservation (requiring both a cancellation and a change fee) could be a deterrent for campers who value flexibility in their plans.
Promotional Information for Local Users: For local residents browsing the "Camping Near Me" category, Faria Beach Park offers the unique opportunity to camp directly on the coast in Ventura. The sound of the ocean is just steps away, and the convenience of a cafe, clean restrooms, and showers can make for a more comfortable beach camping experience. The park's pet-friendly policy, including a dedicated dog area, is a significant advantage for those who love to travel with their dogs. The friendly staff also aim to provide a positive experience for all visitors.
If your priority is being right on the beach and you value basic amenities like clean restrooms and showers, and if you are traveling with a dog, Faria Beach Park might be a suitable option for a local getaway. The availability of a cafe can also be a plus for those who appreciate having a nearby place to grab a meal or a quick refreshment.
However, it is essential to be aware of the potential downsides highlighted by other campers. If you are sensitive to noise, value privacy between campsites, or are particularly concerned about unobstructed ocean views, Faria Beach Park might not fully meet your expectations. The reports of noise from generators and close proximity of sites are important factors to consider. Additionally, the strict cancellation and change policy with associated fees is something to keep in mind when making a reservation.
Ultimately, Faria Beach Park offers a blend of appealing features, such as its beachfront location and pet-friendly amenities, alongside potential drawbacks like noise and obstructed views. Local users should weigh these factors based on their individual preferences and priorities when searching for the ideal "Camping Near Me" experience in Ventura.
Contact Information: Faria Beach Park is located at 4350 Pacific Coast Hwy, Ventura, CA 93001, USA. For reservations and inquiries about current conditions or specific site details, it is recommended to visit the Ventura County Parks website or contact their reservation system directly. While a phone number was not provided in the initial information, online resources will likely offer the most up-to-date contact details and booking options for Faria Beach Park.
In conclusion, Faria Beach Park provides a direct beachfront camping experience in Ventura with the added convenience of a cafe, clean restrooms, showers, and pet-friendly facilities. While the friendly staff and coastal access are positives, potential campers should also consider the reported issues of noise, close campsites, obstructed views, and a strict cancellation policy to make an informed decision about their stay.

Faria Beach Park Reviews
I do not get the 4+ rating. Noisy and not that clean. Sites are very close. Locals with guests. To many generators in non electric sites. Can not hear the ocean and the view is largely obstructed with boulders. Very unfriendly cancelation/ change police. Had to get two sites for 2 days. When a two day site opened Ventura county required both a cancelation and a change fee, I believe 25 bucks.
Apr 22, 2025 · EvergreenBeach camping right on the coast separated by a rock retaining wall. Cement steps to the beach below. Lots of sand when tide is low. Café, clean bathrooms and 75cent showers. Dogs on leash welcome, grass dog area provided with bags as well as picnic benches and day use areas and parking. Very friendly staff here!
May 05, 2025 · KatVery nice beach park for camping. The campsites are very close together, but most ppl seemed to hang out inside their RVs, while we chose to sit outside and enjoy the view of the waves, birds and dolphins and have a bon fire. Beach is literally right over the rocks, there is also a staircase at the end to go down if you can't climb over the rocks. There is a small Cafe with great coffee and refills until they close at 3pm. They also have food options there if you don't feel like cooking. The restrooms are clean with flushing toilets and soap and water for hand washing. There is also a shower that takes quarters. We loved this place and will definitely come back here again.
Apr 05, 2025 · Camille RiosNice place to camp with great views and the sound of the waves drowns out road noise. But if you don’t pay for hookups you cannot fill your camper with water. They should let you know when you are choosing your site. This seems really lame to me since they have plenty of hose bibs. They expect you to fill water bottles, but my camper has a 25 gallon tank and a sink so that is not convenient. The camp host were also very unfriendly.
Feb 26, 2025 · Keith KenworthyExcellent place to watch the sunset! There is a cafe nearby that serves a variety of food and beverages. Easy access to the beach down a set of stairs.
