The Natural Environment: Quiet Serenity with Creek-Side Tent Sites
Foster Residence Campground is consistently described as small, nice, and quiet, emphasizing its peaceful atmosphere. The campground boasts great views of the surrounding area, allowing campers to appreciate the natural beauty of the Ventura region. For tent campers, specific sites (14-16) are highlighted for their privacy, flat ground, and tree cover, offering a more secluded and comfortable experience. These preferred tent sites are also located along a creek, providing the soothing sounds of flowing water, although the creek itself might not be visible from the sites, particularly during the drier seasons. The gentle ambiance of the creek contributes to the overall tranquility of these tent camping spots. In contrast, other tent sites (11-13) are noted to be grouped together, with less tree cover and a slight slope, making them potentially less private and more exposed.
The campground's layout seems to differentiate between tent and RV sites, with most sites other than 14-16 featuring concrete slabs, indicating their primary suitability for trailers and RVs. This separation can contribute to a more organized and comfortable experience for both types of campers.
Services and Facilities: Comprehensive RV Hookups and Clean Amenities
Foster Residence Campground offers a range of services and facilities to ensure a comfortable stay. For RV campers, the sites are equipped with all necessary hookups, including cable TV, providing modern conveniences in a natural setting. This makes it an attractive option for those traveling with recreational vehicles who appreciate full amenities.
A standout feature mentioned in the reviews is the cleanliness and maintenance of the toilets, which are described as "very clean and well maintained" and equipped with flush toilets and running water. This attention to hygiene is a significant positive aspect for any camper. Additionally, a group picnic area is available, providing a dedicated space for larger gatherings to enjoy meals and socialize outdoors.
While the campground itself did not have firewood available on-site during a reviewer's visit in April 2023, this is a minor inconvenience that can be easily addressed by picking up firewood on the way to the campground. The presence of a camp host, although tucked behind a fence, ensures assistance is available if needed. During one visit, the host had a Ring doorbell set up for easy communication, indicating a proactive approach to guest support.

Foster Residence Campground Reviews
Small, nice, quiet, clean, easy access. Highly recommended. The RV sites have all necessary hookups (including cable TV). Toilets are very clean and well maintained. Group picnic area available. Great views!
Apr 28, 2025 · Oana GusatuThis review is about the tent camping at Foster Residence Campground. We visited in April 2023 and had a great stay. We stayed in site 16. Sites 11-13 are all grouped together, do not have much tree cover, and are on a slight slope. Sites 14-16 are more private and are along a creek (we could hear the creek but not see it, and I don't think you'd hear it during dry season). Imo site 14 and site 16 are the best for tent camping - flat ground, tree cover, space between you and your neighbor. These sites are also tucked back away from the road so you only hear nature. I believe all the other sites have a concrete slab for trailers and RVs. We paid $37 with online reservations for one night plus one dog.The bathrooms were well maintained with flush toilets and running water. The camp host is tucked behind a huge fence but on our visit the host had a Ring doorbell set up in case you have questions. They did not have any firewood on site, so be sure to pick some up on your way in.
Apr 11, 2023 · K. G.We stayed one night with our Jeep Wrangler (two people / tent on top) and paid $34 (tax incouded)The place is neat and well organised. Very quiet and full of camper vans and people camping with tents. You pay online through an website. There are parking lots with tables, fire pits and restrooms and common areas. Plenty of shade andwood to burn. The park host lives in an RV, very nicely she let us stay when we arrived at 7 pm.4 stars because There are no showers or hot water. There is little light (bring flashlights with you).
Mar 05, 2022 · Martin BuzzanoWe loved how quiet it was, all you hear is the creek flowing the birds and the toads. We absolutely loved our weekend stay, can't wait to go back!Only downside is how slanted the grill was, but nothing a rock or two can't fix!
Apr 23, 2024 · Alejandra CasarrubiasThis review is for tent camping. The best sites are #14 and #16. We were on 14 and I’d consider that one the best. Grateful for a previous reviewer who gave good recommendations for picking a good tent site. Campground was clean, small and quiet. Clean bathrooms (no showers).
