Feliciana Retreat Center Introduce
For local individuals and organizations in Louisiana and potentially southern Mississippi seeking "camping near me" with a specific need for retreat facilities, the Feliciana Retreat Center, located in East Feliciana Parish, LA 70761, offers a unique option. While categorized as a "camping cabin" for broader searchability, its description and a customer review indicate its primary function as a retreat venue. The address, East Feliciana Parish, places it in a rural area of Louisiana, and the customer feedback specifies its location as being "out in the middle of nowhere" and approximately 100 yards south of the Mississippi state line. This suggests a secluded and potentially quiet environment, ideal for groups looking to focus on their retreat activities away from distractions.
The environment surrounding Feliciana Retreat Center is likely characterized by the natural landscapes of rural East Feliciana Parish. This region of Louisiana features rolling hills, forests, and a generally tranquil setting. Being near the Mississippi state line, the flora and fauna could be representative of the transition zone between the two states. The reviewer's comment about it being "chilly" during their visit indicates that the center is operational during cooler months and that the local climate can influence the experience. The sense of being "out in the middle of nowhere" implies a degree of natural immersion, with potential for observing local wildlife and enjoying the peace of a rural setting. While specific scenic views are not mentioned, the general description suggests a natural and somewhat isolated environment conducive to reflection and group activities.
The services and features of Feliciana Retreat Center appear tailored towards accommodating groups for retreats rather than individual camping in the traditional sense. The reviewer mentions that "the room were like what you would find in a camp for kids," suggesting dormitory-style or simple, functional lodging. This type of accommodation is common in retreat centers and camps designed for group stays, often featuring multiple beds in a shared room and basic furnishings. The fact that the reviewer found the place "perfectly suitable for a retreat" indicates that it likely offers essential facilities needed for group gatherings, such as meeting rooms, common areas, and potentially outdoor spaces for activities.
While specific details about the facilities are not provided, we can infer that Feliciana Retreat Center likely includes common restrooms and shower facilities suitable for accommodating groups. Given its function as a retreat center, it might also offer amenities such as large gathering spaces for meetings or workshops, recreational areas for group activities, and possibly dedicated spaces for facilitators or leaders. The suitability for a retreat suggests that the center is equipped to handle the logistical needs of organized groups, although the exact nature of these provisions remains unspecified.
One significant piece of feedback from the customer review pertains to the food, which was described as "mediocre." This is an important consideration for anyone planning a retreat at Feliciana Retreat Center, especially if meals are part of the package or if the group intends to utilize on-site catering services. The reviewer advises those planning food to inform their group that while the retreat experience itself will likely be good, the food might not be a highlight. This suggests that while the facilities and environment are suitable for retreats, the culinary aspect might be an area where expectations should be managed or where alternative arrangements for food could be considered, if possible.
Promotional information for Feliciana Retreat Center is not included in the provided data. Therefore, we have no details about special rates, packages for retreat groups, or any unique offerings being advertised. For local users interested in booking the center for a retreat, it would be essential to contact them directly to inquire about availability, pricing structures for group rentals, capacities of the lodging and meeting spaces, and any included services such as catering. Understanding the costs associated with lodging, facility use, and meal options would be crucial for planning a retreat within a specific budget.
In conclusion, for local organizations and individuals seeking a "camping near me" experience tailored for group retreats, Feliciana Retreat Center in East Feliciana Parish, LA, offers a secluded and functional option near the Mississippi state line. The environment is described as rural and conducive to focused activities. The lodging appears to be basic and suitable for group stays, similar to a camp setting. While the facilities are deemed appropriate for retreats, potential organizers should be aware of the feedback regarding the food quality. Direct communication with Feliciana Retreat Center is necessary to obtain detailed information about the amenities, capacity, pricing, and any available services to determine if it meets the specific needs of a planned retreat. The positive overall assessment of its suitability for retreats suggests that it could be a valuable resource for local groups seeking a dedicated space for their events.

Feliciana Retreat Center Reviews
I did a retreat there. It was out in the middle of nowhere. About 100 yards south of the Mississippi State Line. It was chilly when we were there. The room were like what you would find in a camp for kids. The place was perfectly suitable for a retreat! My only complaint would be the food. It was mediocre. If you are planning food, let your folks know that they will have a good retreat!
