Brushy Creek Ranch Introduce
For local residents in the Gloster, Mississippi area seeking "camping near me," Brushy Creek Ranch, situated at 5939 E Homochitto Rd, appears as a potential destination. You can reach them at (601) 225-7777 or their mobile number +1 601-225-7777. However, it is crucial for prospective visitors to be aware that recent customer feedback paints a concerning picture of the campground's current condition and customer service, which starkly contrasts with potentially positive past experiences.
Based on its address in Gloster, Mississippi, the environment surrounding Brushy Creek Ranch is likely to be characterized by the natural landscapes of the southwestern part of the state. This region features rolling hills, forests dominated by pine and hardwood trees, and numerous creeks and rivers. The name "Brushy Creek Ranch" itself suggests the presence of a creek and possibly open ranchland. One positive past recommendation mentioned a creek and a pond as appealing features of the property. However, a recent review from a visitor who took a drive to the location based on a friend's recommendation from April 2023 expressed significant disappointment. They reported that the grass was so high that the creek and pond were not visible, and the "complete grounds were unusable." This suggests a severe lack of maintenance, potentially impacting the overall natural beauty and usability of the campground for recreational activities.
Information regarding the specific services and features of Brushy Creek Ranch is limited, and the recent negative feedback raises questions about the current state of these offerings. Traditionally, a ranch-style campground might cater to various camping preferences, including tent camping, RV camping, and possibly even equestrian camping, as hinted by the reviewer's comment, "Thank god we didn’t haul horses!" If horse camping was indeed a feature, the ranch might have offered facilities such as horse stalls or grazing areas. However, the current condition of the grounds, as described in the review, casts doubt on the usability of any such features.
The expectation of a creek and a pond suggests potential for water-based recreational activities such as fishing or simply enjoying the natural scenery. However, if these water features are obscured by overgrown vegetation, as reported, their appeal and accessibility would be severely diminished. The lack of visibility also raises concerns about other potential natural features or trails that might have been present on the property. The "unusable" state of the grounds implies that basic amenities and the overall infrastructure of the campground might also be neglected.
Customer service appears to be a significant issue based on the recent reviews. One customer who had made a two-day reservation for the Memorial Day weekend detailed a frustrating experience trying to obtain essential check-in information. Despite receiving a confirmation of payment and a reservation number, their confirmation lacked a campsite location or number. They attempted to contact Brushy Creek Ranch multiple times via the business phone number listed on their website, both two days in advance of their check-in date and on the day of arrival. Their calls went unanswered. This lack of communication and inability to obtain crucial information, such as late check-in procedures and campsite location, led the customer to decide against driving 200 miles to a campground with "very little information." They expressed concerns about the possibility of the campground being closed upon arrival and the inability to locate their campsite even if it were open. This paints a picture of "terrible customer service" and a lack of responsiveness to customer inquiries, which is a significant red flag for prospective campers.
Promotional information for Brushy Creek Ranch is not included in the provided data. Therefore, we cannot comment on any special offers or unique selling points that might have been advertised in the past. However, the recent negative reviews strongly suggest that the current reality of the campground might not align with any previous positive promotions. Local users should exercise extreme caution and, if still interested, make direct contact with the campground to inquire about the current condition of the grounds, the availability and functionality of amenities, and to ensure they can receive clear and reliable information regarding their booking and check-in procedures.
In conclusion, while Brushy Creek Ranch in Gloster, Mississippi, might have been a recommended camping destination in the past, recent customer feedback indicates significant issues with the upkeep of the grounds, with key natural features reportedly obscured by overgrown vegetation, rendering the area "unusable." Additionally, there are serious concerns about the customer service, with one potential guest unable to reach the management to obtain essential reservation details, leading to the cancellation of their trip. For local users searching for "camping near me" and considering Brushy Creek Ranch, it is strongly advised to proceed with extreme caution, thoroughly investigate the current conditions by contacting the campground directly, and seek recent, reliable information before making any reservations or traveling to the location. The stark contrast between past recommendations and recent negative experiences suggests a potential decline in the quality and management of Brushy Creek Ranch.

Brushy Creek Ranch Reviews
Took a drive there after being recommended by a friend from april 2023. They loved it and we were excited to go. So surprised by the contrast of the photos they shared with us. Grass so high you could not see the creek or the pond that they bragged about. Complete grounds were unusable. So sad from what we expected. Thank god we didn’t haul horses!
Jul 20, 2024 · Julie JulieI made a two day reservation for a campsite over the Memorial day weekend. I received my confirmation of payment and reservation number. But the confirmation did not have my campsite location or camp#. I was going to arrive late around 7pm. I called Brushy Creek's business phone number that's listed on their website. I wanted to talk to the campground attendant to obtain check-in information and camp location and that I will be arriving late . I called two days in advance of my check-in date and again on day of check-in. I tried calling several times they never answered the phone. Notknowing my camp location or check-in procedures I decided not to drive 200 miles to a campground that I have very little information. For example the campground maybe closed upon my arrival and if I could enter the campground late I have no idea where my campsite is located. Terrible customer service.
May 26, 2024 · Johnna Dianna BurkeIt's a beautiful place to ride your horse and the pond with the ducks is so relaxing
Mar 27, 2025 · Kileen GaddisWe always have a great time when we stay here. The place is well operated. The trails got a little rough for a while, but when we were there esrly last year, they were much better. The full size bed in bunk house is kind of uncomfortable, but there are plenty twins to sleep on.
Feb 29, 2024 · Amanda MccoyMy family and I brought our travel trailer to camp for a quiet, relaxing weekend. Wethoroughly enjoyed this place. It is quiet and beautiful. We spent the day walking around exploring. The property is beautiful. We loved it and plan to go back during summer. We went horseback riding on Sunday morning. I don't have the best luck with horses but my family loves to ride. They have the best horses I've ever been around. My horse was great!
