Conveniently listed under the "camping near me" category, this campground provides a welcoming escape into nature, boasting a blend of natural attractions and essential services for a comfortable camping experience. While online information may vary in its depth, combining available details with customer reviews paints a comprehensive picture of what Clear Springs Campground has to offer.
A Natural Haven: Environment and Setting
Clear Springs Campground is situated amidst the natural beauty of rural Mississippi. Based on visitor feedback, the campground features both a lake and, notably, a creek, although the latter might not be extensively highlighted in official descriptions. The presence of these water bodies offers opportunities for different types of recreational activities and provides diverse scenic backdrops. The surrounding environment likely includes woodlands and natural terrain, contributing to a peaceful and immersive camping atmosphere. One long-time visitor fondly recalls enjoying the area since childhood, suggesting a mature and established natural setting.
While one review mentions the campground being in "desperate need of some TLC," it's important to note that this observation is subjective and might refer to specific areas or aspects of the facilities. Despite this, the reviewer still reported having a great time, emphasizing the inherent appeal of the location itself. The presence of a creek, a cherished feature for some visitors, adds a unique dimension to the campground's environment. This natural waterway, while requiring a bit of a climb to access, is described as "worth it" and was enjoyed by families with children.

- Restroom facilities: Campgrounds generally offer communal restrooms for guest convenience. The condition and modernity of these facilities can vary, as hinted at in the review mentioning the need for "TLC."

Features and Activities: Something for Everyone
Clear Springs Campground appears to offer a variety of features and activities centered around its natural setting:
- Lake access: The presence of a lake suggests opportunities for activities such as fishing, kayaking, or simply enjoying the waterfront scenery. Specific regulations regarding boating or swimming would likely be available at the campground.
- Creek access: The creek, while requiring a bit of effort to reach, offers a different natural environment to explore and enjoy. It may be suitable for wading, exploring, or simply enjoying the sounds of flowing water. The reviewer's family found it particularly enjoyable, even more so than the lake.
- Biking: One enthusiastic reviewer specifically recommends bringing bikes, indicating the presence of trails or suitable areas for cycling within or around the campground. This suggests a family-friendly activity that allows for exploration of the grounds.
- Hiking and nature walks: The natural setting of the campground likely lends itself to informal hiking and nature walks, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the Mississippi landscape. The "climb down and back up" to the creek, while noted as potentially challenging, also implies opportunities for a more adventurous trek.
The mention of bringing a "rope ladder or something" for easier access to the creek highlights both the appeal of this feature and the potential need for some preparedness on the part of visitors wishing to enjoy it. This also suggests a more natural and less developed access point, which might appeal to those seeking a more rustic experience.
Promotional Information and Local Appeal
As a local campground listed under "camping near me," Clear Springs Campground likely benefits from word-of-mouth and repeat visitors, as evidenced by the reviewer who has been coming since childhood. This speaks to a sense of community and a positive, enduring experience for many. While specific promotional offers are not available in the provided information, local campgrounds often attract visitors through their natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and a welcoming atmosphere. The positive experiences shared by past visitors, despite some observations about maintenance, suggest that the core appeal of Clear Springs Campground lies in its natural features and the opportunities for outdoor family fun.

Clear Springs Campground Reviews
Amazing campground. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and it never disappoints. We had a blast this weekend. If you come, bring bikes!
Feb 03, 2025 · Jason HodgesThe campground is in desperate need of some TLC but we still had a great time. I have read through so many reviews and looked at so many pics & not 1 single picture or mention of the creek even from people who claim they use to come here as kids. Does no one know the creeks existed except me and my family. I preferred the creek over the lake even when I was a child in the 80s. Anyhow it’s a bit of a climb down and then back up but man it’s worth it. I brought my kids and husband yesterday & they had a great time. We do know next time we definitely need a rope ladder or something so the climb down and back up from the creek.
Jul 14, 2024 · Melissa StrahanScenic area and campgrounds. Peaceful and quiet. Westbound on 84, GMap gives you a four mile dirt road. Pass it by and proceed W on 84 to the Clear Springs Rd and sign. Turn S onto paved road. Easy. Campsites on upper loop seem easier to back a trailer or small RV into; more level. Our second time there and will stay again in future.
Jun 15, 2023 · Steve MillerClear springs was a big part of my childhood with so many good memories here. Things have changed a lot since those days but going there after so many years was still like seeing an old friend. The nostalgia and positive energy are still there. It is still a beautiful place and very peaceful. I will be spending a bit more time visiting this dear old family friend.
Dec 28, 2021 · ZenarchyJust outside the town of Roxie, MS nestled in the Homochitto National Forest lies the Clear Springs Campground. You are greeted with an honor box, so bring cash. Past the entrance the road splits. To the right are the overlook campsites, to the left are the lake side campsites. We decided on the lake side and chose #11. Now, #11 is not your typical campsite. Nope, #11 has a TWO STORY WALK-UP! That's right. you park your RV / SUV at the bottom were the connections are and walk up a long flight of stairs to the camping area. Most of you are thinking to yourselves that that sounds horrible. Every time you want to hang out by the fire or go back to the RV you have to go up and down the stairs. To us though, IT WAS AWESOME! It's Private, It's Quiet, It's Secluded. You can see the entire lower campground including the picnic area by the lake and most of the day use pavilion area. This offers a little more sense of security for myself and provides a nice view. Also, having less foot traffic beside our campsite made it much easier having the dogs with us. There is a trail head just off this campsite that leads to the lake trail. There is also an adjoining campsite, but far enough away that there is no disturbance between neighbors. Park maintenance is SUPERB! Bathhouse was Very clean. Grounds were Very Well maintained. Staff was Awesome and extremely friendly.
