Fireside Campground Introduce
For those in the Lone Rock, Wisconsin area, or those searching within the "camping near me" category for a welcoming and enjoyable camping experience, Fireside Campground, located at 33533 Jay Ln, Lone Rock, WI 53556, USA, appears to be an excellent choice. Based on the enthusiastic reviews from multiple satisfied customers, this campground offers a combination of friendly service, clean facilities, and a pleasant environment, making it a standout destination for individuals, families, and pet owners alike.
When considering "camping near me," the atmosphere and the hospitality of the hosts can significantly impact the overall experience, and Fireside Campground seems to excel in these areas. One recurring theme in the reviews is the exceptional friendliness and accommodating nature of the owners. One camper who has stayed multiple times stated, "The owners are more than accommodating," while another mentioned that "donna and calvin were gracious hosts and seemed to sincerely relish the opportunity to interact with campers." This personal touch and genuine care from the owners contribute to a "fun, friendly, homey campground atmosphere" that makes guests feel like they are "surrounded by old friends." Such a welcoming environment is a significant draw for those seeking a relaxing and community-oriented camping experience.
The environment of Fireside Campground is described as "very nice," with "beautiful seasonal spots" indicating an aesthetically pleasing layout and well-maintained grounds. For those who enjoy leisurely strolls and exploring the surroundings, the presence of "some trails to walk through" within the campground is a notable feature. These trails likely offer opportunities to immerse oneself in the natural beauty of the area and enjoy some light exercise without having to leave the campground. The fact that the campground is pet-friendly is another significant advantage for many travelers, and the provision of "pet cleanup stations throughout the campground" demonstrates a commitment to maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for all guests, including their furry companions.
In terms of services and features, Fireside Campground appears to cater to a variety of camping preferences. The mention of "campsites" suggests availability for traditional tent and RV camping. One long-time visitor noted that "The campsites are very nice and some are well spaced," indicating that campers can expect comfortable and potentially private sites. For those seeking more structured accommodation, the availability of a "park model" and "robin’s nest" (presumably a cabin or another type of rental unit) suggests options beyond traditional camping, catering to families or those who prefer more amenities. One large family with young children who stayed in these rentals reported being "all very comfortable," highlighting the suitability of these options for multi-generational groups.
The facilities at Fireside Campground are consistently praised for their cleanliness. One reviewer stated that the "facilities were clean and adequately furnished," which is a crucial aspect for a comfortable camping experience. Clean bathrooms and showers contribute significantly to guest satisfaction. While the specifics of the facilities (e.g., number of restrooms, shower availability) are not detailed, the positive feedback suggests that they meet the needs of the campers adequately.
The positive reviews themselves act as strong promotional information for Fireside Campground. The repeated stays by satisfied customers, the enthusiastic recommendations ("one of my favorite places to camp," "we LOVED it!!!"), and the clear intention of returning ("The hisaw family would LOVE to return to fireside campground!") all speak volumes about the positive experiences offered. The emphasis on the friendly atmosphere and accommodating owners creates a compelling reason for local users searching for "camping near me" to choose Fireside Campground.
While specific details about amenities at the campsites (e.g., hookups for water, electricity, sewer) are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, the reference to "beautiful seasonal spots" might imply that some sites offer more comprehensive amenities suitable for longer stays. Interested campers should inquire directly about the specific features of the campsites when making a reservation. Similarly, information about potential promotional offers, seasonal rates, or group discounts would be best obtained by contacting the campground directly via phone at (608) 583-5111 or +1 608-583-5111.
The fact that the campground seems to attract repeat visitors and fosters a sense of community ("truly felt like we were surrounded by old friends") suggests that Fireside Campground has cultivated a welcoming and enjoyable environment that keeps people coming back. This strong sense of community and the positive interactions with the owners are significant selling points for those looking for more than just a place to pitch a tent or park an RV.
In conclusion, for local users searching for "camping near me" in the Lone Rock, WI area, Fireside Campground offers a highly recommended option based on the overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding its friendly atmosphere, accommodating owners, clean facilities, and pleasant environment. Fireside Campground Reviews
We have camped here multiple times and always enjoy staying here. The owners are more than accommodating. The campsites are very nice and some are well spaced. They have a lot of beautiful seasonal spots and even some trails to walk through. They are pet friendly and have pet cleanup stations throughout the campground as well. This is one of my favorite places to camp.

Apr 09, 2025 · sandi bornThis weekend was our first time staying at the Fireside and it ranks among the better campgrounds I've been in. The owners are very friendly and attentive to people staying. Sites are nice sized and easy to get into and out of with room to park your truck off the road as well. Bathrooms and showers were always clean and well kept. Finally there were a lot of people but it was quiet enough you really didn't notice you had neighbors in the campground most of the time. It's about 30 minutes from House on the Rock and 10 minutes from multiple day use areas on the river. Tubing and canoeing is close by and there is a lot to do if you look around. We will definitely be going back.
Jul 22, 2024 · Steve WoodallThis was one of our best camping experiences to date. We had a pull through site with full hook up and it was perfect. Everything you read about Cal and Donna is true. Fantastic owners who care about their business and the campers there. Had a problem with our hitch and Cal slept on it for a night (actually he said he couldn't sleep and was thinking about it all night) and came back the next day with a solution, and fixed it for us. We are so looking forward to coming back again, staying longer next time. Thank you, Cal and Donna.
