Based on the positive feedback from recent customers, this campground is appreciated for its beautiful setting along the Clackamas River, potentially private and spacious campsites, and easy access to the water, all contributing to a relaxing natural getaway.
The environment of Fish Creek Campground is strongly characterized by its proximity to the Clackamas River. The river itself is a significant natural attraction, likely offering opportunities for various water-based activities such as fishing, swimming (depending on conditions and regulations), and simply enjoying the scenic beauty of the flowing water. The surrounding area is typical of the lush forests found in the Oregon Cascade foothills, with mature trees providing shade and a natural backdrop for the campsites. The quiet atmosphere, noted by one reviewer, suggests a peaceful environment conducive to relaxation and escaping the noise of urban life. The short walk down to the Clackamas River, as mentioned, enhances the appeal for those wanting easy access for recreation or simply to enjoy the riverside ambiance. The presence of cliffs near some areas, where one reviewer's boyfriend slept under the stars, adds a unique and potentially dramatic element to the landscape.
Services at Fish Creek Campground, while not extensively detailed in the provided reviews, can be inferred to include standard campground amenities. The presence of "campsites" implies designated areas for pitching tents or parking RVs. One reviewer noted that the campsites they experienced were large, and one was "pretty private," suggesting a degree of space and seclusion at some locations within the campground. However, another reviewer mentioned that the "rest of them looked like they were very small and basically one huge site," indicating potential variability in campsite size and privacy depending on the specific spot. Basic amenities such as picnic tables and fire rings are commonly found at established campgrounds and are likely present here, although not explicitly stated. Restroom facilities are also a necessary service, and while their condition is not mentioned, it's reasonable to expect at least vault toilets in a campground setting. Information about the availability of potable water, trash disposal, or other services like firewood sales is not provided in the reviews, so potential campers might want to inquire about these when contacting the campground directly. The positive experiences shared suggest that the basic services provided meet the needs of campers who appreciate the natural setting and river access.
The features of Fish Creek Campground are centered around its natural beauty and access to the Clackamas River. The large and potentially private campsites are a significant feature, offering a comfortable and secluded camping experience for some visitors. The easy walk down to the river is another key feature, providing convenient access for fishing, enjoying the water, or simply taking in the riverside scenery. The quiet area contributes to a relaxing and peaceful stay, allowing campers to disconnect and enjoy the sounds of nature, particularly the river. The unique mention of cliffs near some campsites adds an element of scenic interest and the possibility of enjoying views or stargazing in a dramatic setting. However, the variability in campsite size and privacy, as noted by one reviewer, means that the experience might differ depending on the specific site assigned. Despite this, the overall impression from the reviews is that the natural environment and river access are the primary features that make Fish Creek Campground a "total score" for those who stumble upon it.

Fish Creek Campground Reviews
Loved this place! We stumbled on it accidently and boy were we happy. The campsites are large, the one we started in was pretty private. We could hear the river from our tent. It was a short walk down to the Clackamas. All in all, a total score.
Sep 01, 2018 · Sadako HattoriWe got a super good spot, but the rest of them looked like they were very small and basically one huge site. Nice quiet area with short walk down to the water. My boyfriend even sleepy under the stars next to the cliff.
Aug 16, 2020 · Crystal BlowerThe campground was great, but we were treated rudely by the camp host if that is what she was. She had on a ranger type outfit. We arrived at noon to spend the afternoon with our daughters family. We parked our car in the space next to their campsite which was empty and not reserved. At 6:30 she came by and said we had to pay the $22 camping fee. We were leaving in 30 minutes and had no intentions of camping. Said she had been there all day and saw our car. She could have told us to move it elsewhere in the beginning. My husband ask for an envelope to put the cash in because she was not bending at all. Wouldn't accept $8 dollars for extra vehicle charge. She said putting the money in the box wouldn't work in this case. He didn't want to hand her the cash so she threatened to write him a ticket for refusing to pay. This is not how you treat people! As far as we know, she pocketed the money. It was a frustrating end to a fun day at the beautiful campground. We certainly weren't trying to get by with anything.
Aug 21, 2019 · barbara coxNot on water but can hear it. Host was pleasant. We cleaned our campsite upon arrival and road way. The toilets are absolutely horrible my group even brought in air spray just to pee and that barely worked
Jul 18, 2019 · Randi GonzalesExcellent campground. Spot 1 is a bit secluded, but not far away from the bathroom. Has shade, next to water also. Other sites are not as dispersed as spot 1. Enough room for 2 vehicles to be parked as well.
