Situated on the picturesque Mt Charleston, this campground not only offers a refreshing escape from the desert heat but also boasts welcoming hosts and unique features that enhance the camping experience. Based on recent customer reviews, Fletcher View Campground provides a blend of natural beauty, essential amenities, and a secure, friendly atmosphere, making it a highly recommended destination for local campers. This detailed introduction will explore the environment, services, features, and important considerations for local users planning a visit.
The Environment: Mountain Serenity and Potential Wildlife Encounters
Fletcher View Campground is nestled in the scenic surroundings of Mt Charleston, a towering peak that offers a dramatic contrast to the Las Vegas Valley below. The environment here is characterized by cooler temperatures, diverse vegetation including forests of pine and fir, and stunning mountain vistas. This provides a welcome respite from the desert heat, especially during the summer months, making it an ideal destination for local residents seeking a cooler climate and a change of scenery. The air is fresh and clean, offering a tranquil and rejuvenating atmosphere for campers looking to reconnect with nature. The elevation also provides opportunities for scenic hikes and exploring the unique flora and fauna of the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area.
A particularly enchanting aspect of the environment at Fletcher View Campground, as highlighted by a reviewer, is the possibility of encountering local wildlife, including packs of wild horses that occasionally wander through the campground. This unique feature adds an element of wonder and excitement to the camping experience, allowing local users to observe these majestic animals in their natural habitat. The overall ambiance is one of natural beauty and peaceful mountain living, making it an attractive alternative to desert camping options closer to the city.
Services and Amenities: Power Hookups, Water Access, and Welcoming Hosts
Fletcher View Campground offers several key services and amenities that contribute to a comfortable and convenient camping experience, especially notable for being the only campground on Mt Charleston with power hookups, according to one reviewer:
- Power Hookups: The availability of electrical power at the campsites is a significant advantage, allowing RV owners and tent campers alike to power appliances, charge devices, and enjoy some of the comforts of home while immersed in nature. This is a unique offering that sets Fletcher View apart from other campgrounds in the area.
- Water Access (Specific Limitations): The campground does provide access to water, which is essential for drinking and other needs. However, it is crucial to note a specific limitation mentioned by a reviewer: direct hose hookups to the spigots are not possible. Campers needing to fill their RV water tanks will need to do so manually, using containers to transfer water to their gravity-fed systems. Therefore, local users with RVs are strongly advised to fill their water tanks before arriving at the campground to avoid inconvenience.
- Welcoming and Secure Hosts: Multiple reviews praise the campground hosts, Bob and his wife, for being exceptionally nice and welcoming. Their friendly demeanor and helpfulness contribute significantly to the positive atmosphere of the campground. Furthermore, the hosts are also commended for their efforts in keeping the campground secure, providing peace of mind for campers.
While the reviews do not explicitly mention other amenities such as restroom facilities, dump stations, or specific recreational facilities, the focus on power, water access (with the noted limitation), and the quality of the hosts provides a good understanding of the core services available. Local users with specific needs should contact the campground directly using the provided phone numbers ((702) 515-5400 or +1 702-515-5400) for detailed information on all available amenities.
Features: Power, Friendly Atmosphere, Security, and Wildlife
Fletcher View Campground boasts several distinctive features that make it an attractive option for local campers:
- Only Campground on Mt Charleston with Power: This unique feature provides a level of convenience and comfort not found at other campgrounds in the area, making it particularly appealing for RVers and those who rely on electricity for medical devices or other needs.
- Exceptionally Welcoming Hosts: The consistently positive feedback about Bob and his wife highlights the friendly and helpful atmosphere of the campground, enhancing the overall camping experience.
- Secure Environment: The hosts' dedication to keeping the campground secure provides an added layer of comfort and safety for visitors.
- Potential Wildlife Sightings: The chance to see wild horses wandering through the campground offers a memorable and unique connection with nature.
- Location on Mt Charleston: The mountain setting provides a cooler climate, scenic beauty, and access to hiking trails and other outdoor activities within the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area.
These features combine to create a compelling offering for local users seeking a powered campsite in a beautiful and secure mountain environment with the potential for wildlife encounters.

Fletcher View Campground Reviews
Best campground on Mt Charleston. Only campground with power.Bob and his wife are the nicest hosts we’ve ever met.
Apr 13, 2025 · NoBeerBobThe hosts are very welcoming and do a great job of keeping the campground secure! The coolest part so far has been seeing a pack of wild horses wander through.Of note: There is water, but you can’t hookup a hose to the spigot. So unless you want to fill your gravity tank manually, fill up before you get here!
Apr 29, 2025 · Conrad HenkelWhat a relaxation! To be able to escape the city to this wonderful but peaceful place. My niece invited me and I really had a nice but beautiful time with the family camping here for few days. Imagined, closed to 5,000 above sea level I sort of was running out of air. But thank God I hot use to it. You have come here. For the price of $99 it was worth it every moment. This place has breathtaking views of the mountains and and nice beautiful little town up the trail. I fully recommend this place. It was cold at nights but nice during the day. By the way there are wild horses running around. I love this place
Apr 16, 2022 · Eugenio GonzalezPretty nice campground with electric plug-in. Close to hiking, quiet at night. 11 spots available and it's first come first serve in the off season (winter). $33 per night unless you have some discount.Clean heated bathrooms, no showers and no water on our visit.Sites 4 and 5 have the best views and are close to the bathrooms. Site 10, ours, is the most private. Cool area worth checking out for a day or two, close to Vegas and on the edge of death valley. Snow on the ground and 18-20 degrees at night on our visit, 11/11-11-13.
Nov 14, 2022 · Carl O'NeilGreat campground. This was an RV spot but we just used a tent. The bonus was we had a power outlet. The toilets have running water and there was a water spicket nearby. A little cooler here in the summer. We had a fire pit, bbq, and picnic table at the site.
