Hilltop Campground Introduce
For local users in the Las Vegas area searching for "camping near me," Hilltop Campground, located in Las Vegas, NV 89166, USA, and reachable at (801) 226-3564 or +1 801-226-3564, offers a location known for its beautiful scenery and amazing views from the campsites. According to customer reviews, the natural environment is a significant draw, promising a visually appealing outdoor experience. However, recent feedback also highlights potential issues that local users should be aware of when considering this campground for their next camping trip.
The environment of Hilltop Campground is repeatedly described as "beautiful," with one reviewer specifically mentioning "amazing views" from their campsite. This suggests that the campground is situated in a location that offers scenic vistas, likely of the surrounding landscape near Las Vegas. The specific type of environment (e.g., mountainous, desert, or a combination) is not detailed, but the emphasis on beauty and views indicates a natural setting that appeals to those seeking aesthetic enjoyment during their camping experience.
In terms of services and features mentioned in the reviews, each campsite appears to have a picnic table, some of which are placed on a concrete pad. While the concrete pad might present a minor challenge for securing certain types of camping equipment like dining canopies, solutions such as using paracord can address these issues. The presence of picnic tables is a standard and convenient amenity for outdoor dining and general campsite use.
One reviewer initially described the campground as "very quiet," suggesting that under normal circumstances, it could offer a peaceful camping environment. However, this same review notes a significant disruption caused by another camper playing loud music on repeat late into the night, and expresses disappointment that park staff did not address the issue. This incident raises concerns about potential noise disturbances and the level of enforcement of campground quiet hours by the staff.
Another long-time visitor to Hilltop Campground shared a deeply concerning experience involving campsite reservation issues and inconsiderate behavior from other campers. This reviewer recounted reserving and paying for a site early on a Friday, only to find it occupied by another family upon arrival. The situation escalated to a confrontation with a member of that family exhibiting threatening behavior. While the reviewer was eventually able to secure a different site that opened up last minute, this incident points to potential problems with reservation management or enforcement, as well as issues with the behavior and respectfulness of some campers.
Adding to the negative experiences, the same long-time visitor also reported ongoing noise issues with a group camping nearby, who were being "very loud and inconsiderate at 12 am." This reinforces the concern about noise levels and the potential for disruptive fellow campers affecting the peaceful enjoyment of the natural setting that camping is intended to provide.
Furthermore, the reviewer expressed disappointment with witnessing people driving fast around the campsite, where children were playing. This is a serious safety concern for families with young children and suggests a lack of adherence to speed limits or a lack of enforcement within the campground.
The cumulative effect of these negative experiences led the long-time visitor to state that they "wont be camping here again," indicating a significant level of dissatisfaction with the current environment and management of Hilltop Campground.
Considering the platform category "camping near me," Hilltop Campground's beautiful location and scenic views might initially attract local users. However, the recent reviews highlight several potential drawbacks that need to be carefully considered. The issues with noise from inconsiderate campers, the problematic situation with campsite reservation theft and the lack of staff intervention, and the concern about unsafe driving within the campground all paint a picture of a potentially less than ideal camping experience, despite the appealing natural setting.
There is no mention of any specific services beyond the picnic tables, and no promotional information is provided in the reviews. Local users interested in Hilltop Campground would benefit from contacting the campground directly at the provided phone numbers to inquire about current reservation policies, staff presence and enforcement of rules (especially regarding noise and campsite occupancy), and any safety measures in place regarding driving within the campground. It would also be prudent to ask about typical noise levels and the general atmosphere of the campground based on recent conditions.
Given the conflicting feedback – beautiful location versus significant issues with other campers and potential lack of management oversight – local users should weigh these factors carefully. While the amazing views might be enticing, the potential for disruptive noise, reservation problems, and safety concerns could detract significantly from the overall camping experience. It would be wise to seek more recent information from the campground management and perhaps look for more up-to-date reviews from other campers to get a more comprehensive picture of the current state of Hilltop Campground before making a decision.
In conclusion, Hilltop Campground near Las Vegas offers a beautiful setting with potentially stunning views, making it an initial consideration for those searching for "camping near me." However, recent customer reviews have raised serious concerns about noise levels, campsite reservation integrity, and unsafe driving within the campground, suggesting potential issues with both fellow campers and campground management. Local users should contact the campground directly to address these concerns and gather more current information before planning a trip to Hilltop Campground to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

Hilltop Campground Reviews
Beautiful area, amazing views from our campsite. The concrete pad under the picnic table presented a unique challenge for securing our dining canopy, but nothing a good bit of Paracord couldn't fix. Very quiet aside from one camper that loudly played one song on repeat long into the night, which park staff never addressed. Aside from that, great experience!
Jul 11, 2024 · Jessie StarborneHilltop is a beautiful camp ground, my family and I have been camping here for years. I am really curious on what has happened to the camping community. I went early Friday to reserve a site, paid and put the stub showing I had paid. When we got to the site a family was there and our stub was gone. They had no remorse or empathy for what they did and the man took off his shirt, trying to threaten my husband. Luckily there was one spot available that opened last minute and we were able to camp there. As I am writing this the group behind us are being very loud and inconsiderate at 12 am. You go camping to get away from the city and enjoy nature. If you are going to be up all night drinking stay home and go to a bar!! I feel sorry for the children being raised by parents who think it’s ok to steal someone’s campsite they already paid for. It’s sad. People also drive fast around the campsite where children are playing. We wont be camping here again
Jul 14, 2024 · Jennifer DierickxI was extremely disappointed in the host. He came to our campground with an attitude walked right down to my campsite and looked for anything out of place. He then proceeded to accuse me of cutting down a limb off a tree to start my fire!!! I would never cut a tree to start a fire… it’s still green and won’t burn! I’m from Oregon!!! We use dead branches to start our fires with. Not live ones! He really just set the mood for the night and I didn’t even want to stay. I don’t appreciate getting yelled at by anyone. Just the way he treated me was disrespectful! The branch was dead and on the ground for many days as it went up in flames when I lit it! The host really needs to find a job so he doesn’t work for the public with that attitude.

Nov 08, 2024 · Carlos FigueroaAbsolutely beautiful location high above Las Vegas. The city light glow is barely visible. What a wonderful surprise to have found this campground.
