Floyd Parkway Village Introduce
For local residents in Virginia searching within the "camping near me" category, Floyd Parkway Village, located at 141 Chestnut Ln SE, Floyd, VA 24091, offers a camping experience that, according to one recent review, is characterized by a friendly atmosphere but also raises concerns regarding its deposit refund policy and the perceived reach of its rules beyond the campground property. You can contact them at (540) 808-4984 or their mobile number, +1 540-808-4984, for inquiries and reservations. While the review includes both positive and negative aspects, it's important for potential local users to consider the entirety of the feedback when evaluating this campground for their outdoor needs.
The reviewer initially describes the campground as "friendly," which suggests a welcoming and positive interaction with the staff or other campers during their stay. This is often a crucial factor for those seeking a pleasant and community-oriented camping environment. A friendly atmosphere can contribute significantly to the overall enjoyment of a trip, making guests feel comfortable and valued.
However, the primary focus of the review revolves around an issue encountered after the reviewer's departure from Floyd Parkway Village, specifically concerning the refund of their deposit. The reviewer states that the deposit became "conditionally refundable" after leaving the property, which they found "slightly confused." The core of the issue seems to stem from the campground's enforcement of its rules beyond its physical boundaries. According to the reviewer, they were informed that even after vacating the campground, their dog being "still too close to the premise" was preventing the deposit from being refunded until they moved further away.
This situation raises questions about the campground's defined boundaries and the extent to which its regulations are enforced beyond those boundaries. The reviewer perceived this request as an attempt to exert control even after their departure and felt that it was linked to satisfying the campground's "ego," potentially placing the reviewer in a "less desirable situation." This account suggests a rigid or unusual interpretation and enforcement of rules related to pets and proximity to the property even after a guest has checked out.
The reviewer further elaborates that once the campground management realized they had no authority over the reviewer's new location, the deposit appeared to be used as a tool to force compliance with their demands. This narrative paints a picture of a power dynamic and a deposit policy that might be applied in a way that feels unreasonable or punitive to some guests, particularly after they have left the premises.
Despite this significant issue with the deposit refund process, the reviewer does offer some positive feedback about their experience at the campground itself. They mention that "it was a decent place with some great people I am so thankful I met." This indicates that the campground might have positive aspects such as friendly fellow campers or a pleasant environment during the stay itself. The fact that the reviewer encourages others to "experience the campground for themselves" suggests that the negative experience at the end might not be representative of the entire stay for all visitors.
The review concludes with a reflection on the importance of treating people fairly and expresses hope for the campground management. This suggests that while the reviewer encountered a significant problem, they also recognize potential positive aspects of Floyd Parkway Village. For local users considering this campground based on the "friendly" initial impression, it is crucial to be aware of the potential complexities and conditions associated with deposit refunds and the campground's enforcement of rules beyond its property lines.
Given the limited information, we can only speculate on the environment, services, and features of Floyd Parkway Village. The address indicates a location in Floyd, Virginia, which is known for its scenic beauty in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is likely that the campground offers a natural setting, potentially with wooded areas or views of the surrounding landscape. However, specific details about amenities such as the types of campsites (e.g., tent, RV), hookups available, bathroom facilities, recreational areas, or pet policies (beyond the deposit issue) are not provided in this review.
Similarly, there is no promotional information available in this review. Local users would need to contact Floyd Parkway Village directly to inquire about rates, availability, site options, specific rules and regulations (especially regarding pets and deposits), and any current promotions or discounts for local residents. Understanding the full terms and conditions, particularly those related to deposits and pet policies, would be advisable before booking a stay.
In conclusion, Floyd Parkway Village in Floyd, Virginia, is presented as a campground with a friendly atmosphere, where one reviewer also encountered "great people." However, this same reviewer had a negative experience regarding the conditional refund of their deposit after leaving the property, based on a perceived enforcement of rules related to their pet's proximity even after departure. While the reviewer encourages others to form their own opinions, this account highlights the importance of understanding the campground's policies, especially concerning deposits and pet regulations, before making a reservation. Local users searching for "camping near me" in Floyd should weigh the positive mention of friendliness against the potential issues raised in this review and consider contacting the campground directly for clarification on their policies and to gather more information about the environment, services, and features offered.

Floyd Parkway Village Reviews
Friendly. However sadly, after leaving the property. The deposit became conditionally refundable. Slightly confused on their boundaries to which their rules govern. I was told even though I vacated the campground property. My dog was still too close to the premise and they would not refund deposit until we moved further away. It was clear that they we're expecting me to satisfy their ego and consequently be in a less desirable situation. When they realized their authority ran out of reach and had no control over the new location. It was as if in a last desperate attempt for control, the deposit became a tool to force me into meeting their demands. It Reminded me how fortunate it is to have good friends and why treating people fairly always wins. I will pray for them. I encourage anyone to experience the campground for themselves. Other than the immature and unprofessional ethics at the end. It was a decent place with some great people I am so thankful i met.
