Oct 11, 2024 · Patina Creek SilverWant to awesome-camp? Crooked Mountain is the place! We had the best weekend tent camping @ creekside5... the site is level and well-maintained, and the babbling brook was great for sleeping sounds. Lots of nice details - hammock, picnic table, fire pit w/cooking grate. The outdoor shower was *extra* awesome - bonus points! Hosts, Brian & Christy, radiate hospitality and offer a wealth of knowledge about the area. BTW, this site is 4mi from downtown Floyd. Thank you for the kindness, B&C. We will be back - looking forward to seeing your flowers in bloom this summer!
Apr 03, 2024 · Bex456Based out of here for a 2-day dual sport motorcycle ride. The campground was perfect for it, close proximity to miles and miles of great offroad trails as well as downtown Floyd. The hosts were very generous, offering parts and help when one of our group had a flat tire. The sites were well maintained, with access to a bathroom, showers, and a creekhouse with a dishwashing station and can be locked for a private changing area. The creekside campsites were well maintained, with good firepits, tables, and hammocks to relax in after a long days ride. The field camping sites would be great for larger groups too. The camp store was stocked with an assortment of camping gear, food and drinks, and clothes too.It was a great experience. Will definitely be back!
Apr 21, 2024 · Alexander HerzogStumbled upon this gem after seeing a u-pick sunflowers ad on Instagram. Wow! I enjoyed my time here way more than the Sinkland Farms sunflower festival. Such a beautiful property, well-stocked store and veteran-owned/operated. They have several different kinds of sunflowers, including a beautiful red/pink type--so unique! Also Zinnias and some Queen Anne's Lace as well as sundry wildflowers. I took a stroll to see the campsites as all guests had gone (creekside and field options) and they are lovely--several have hammocks already set up and all have tables/fire rings and there is a short hiking trail on site too. So close to Main Street and the BRP. Picked some cheerful flowers at sunset and was told if you bring the bucket/jar back you can get a discount on your next pick. They had a misting tent with chairs and cornhole set up in the lawn--a great family/date/solo adventure spot run by good folks. I'm already planning a camping trip up there for later this fall and will definitely be back in the summer. They have been in business for about a year and need more people spreading the word about this place!
