Frog Creek Campground Introduce
For local residents in the Palmetto, Florida area seeking "camping near me," Frog Creek Campground, located at 8515 Bayshore Rd, Palmetto, FL 34221, USA, offers a potentially welcoming and affordable option for both short and long-term stays. Situated in Manatee County, Frog Creek Campground has garnered both positive and cautionary feedback from previous visitors, providing a balanced perspective for prospective local campers.
To inquire about reservations, availability, and specific site details, you can contact Frog Creek Campground directly at (941) 722-6154 or their mobile number, +1 941-722-6154. Speaking with the staff directly will allow you to get the most current information and address any specific concerns you might have.
Based on the available customer reviews, Frog Creek Campground appears to excel in its hospitality and affordability. One reviewer, a travel RN who stayed for 13 weeks, could "not begin to express enough how wonderful, kind, and welcoming the staff at Frog Creek are." This individual highlighted that "everyone we have encountered here has been beyond helpful," indicating a strong commitment to customer service. The staff's willingness to go "above and beyond" was further illustrated by their offer to move the long-term guest to a shady spot during the summer months, demonstrating a proactive approach to ensuring guest comfort.
This positive review also emphasizes the affordability of Frog Creek Campground compared to other campsites in the area, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious local campers. The reviewer concluded that it is "one of the best campgrounds I've found in this area," underscoring its positive attributes for those seeking a pleasant and economical stay.
However, it is important to consider a contrasting experience shared by another potential guest. This review recounts a situation where a $50 deposit for a five-night stay, scheduled for an RV rally in October 2024, was deemed nonrefundable after the rally was canceled due to Hurricane Milton. Despite the cancellation being attributed to a natural event and the guest explaining their likelihood of selling their RV before a future credit could be used, the campground reportedly refused a refund, offering only a future credit. This resulted in a one-star rating from the disappointed potential guest who felt the deposit should have been refunded under the circumstances.
These two reviews paint a picture of a campground with potentially excellent customer service during an actual stay, as highlighted by the travel RN, but a rigid policy regarding nonrefundable deposits, even in the face of event cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances. Local users considering booking at Frog Creek Campground should be aware of this deposit policy and inquire about the terms and conditions, especially concerning cancellations.
While the reviews provide insights into the staff and deposit policies, they offer limited information about the environment and specific services and features of Frog Creek Campground. The mention of moving a long-term guest to a "shady spot" suggests that at least some campsites offer shade, which is a desirable feature in the Florida climate. However, details about the overall layout, the types of terrain, or proximity to any natural attractions (like water bodies or parks) are not provided.
Similarly, the services and features of Frog Creek Campground are not extensively detailed in the reviews. We can infer that they accommodate RVs, as one review mentions attending an RV rally and another refers to selling their RV. Tent camping is also likely an option, given that "campsites" are mentioned in the context of moving to a shady spot. However, the types of hookups available for RVs (e.g., water, electricity, sewer), the amenities for tent campers (e.g., designated tent pads, fire rings, picnic tables), and the availability of communal facilities (e.g., restrooms, showers, laundry) are not specified in the provided text.
To gain a comprehensive understanding of the environment, services, and features of Frog Creek Campground, local users should contact them directly. Inquiries should include the types of campsites available, the amenities offered at each site, the availability and quality of communal facilities, the general environment of the campground (e.g., shaded, open, near water), and any specific policies regarding reservations and cancellations, particularly concerning deposits.
Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Frog Creek Campground in the provided data. Local users should inquire when contacting them about any special rates for local residents, discounts for extended stays (as suggested by the travel RN's experience), or any seasonal promotions that might be offered.
In conclusion, for local residents in the Palmetto, Florida area seeking "camping near me," Frog Creek Campground on Bayshore Road appears to be an affordable option with a reputation for a wonderfully kind and accommodating staff, particularly noted by a long-term guest. The availability of shady spots is also a potential benefit. However, prospective campers should be aware of a potentially strict nonrefundable deposit policy, even in cases of event cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances. To obtain complete information about the campground's environment, services, features, and any current promotions, direct contact with Frog Creek Campground is recommended.

Frog Creek Campground Reviews
We paid a $50 deposit towards a five night stay starting October 10, 2024 to attend an RV rally. Hurricane Milton was headed to hit the Bradenton area so the organizers cancelled the rally. We called Frog Creek to cancel our reservation and requested a refund to our credit card; but we were informed that our deposit was nonrefundable but we could have a future credit. My husband who is 82 explained that we probably will be selling our RV before the next rally and again requested a refund but told NO once again. Mother Nature caused the rally to be cancelled and we feel our deposit should have been refunded. Thus the One Star rating
Oct 11, 2024 · Jeannine SimoneI am a travel RN from Florida, came down here to work for 13 weeks. I cant not begin to express enough how wonderful, kind, and welcoming the staff at Frog Creek are. Everyone we have encountered here has been beyond helpful. They even offered to let us move campsites to a shady spot since we were going to be down here for an extended time during summer months. To say they are accommodating is an understatement, they have gone above and beyond to help us and make us comfortable during our time here. So much so I hope to be able to extend my job here to stay longer. One of the best campgrounds I've found in this area and on top of everything they are VERY affordable compared to other campsites in the area.
Jun 24, 2024 · Ashley BannisterWon't return your deposit. No see- um mosquitoes we're terrible at evening! River may have a lot to do with it. No working with the property manager. No personality. Rent continues to climb! Can understand keeping my $250 deposit for holding spot for following year, but, the additional $1,100.00 could of been returned after them only having it about a week! I think office Debbie is pocketing the money. Won't let us talk to the owner.
Jul 05, 2024 · kenneth jessmonWhat a hidden treasure...Great for seniors...has all the basics of what you need... adjust your unrealistic expectations. This is not Disney ...No they do not have a huge waterpark with slides and fountains. But they do have a small swimming pool which often you find you have all to yourself.Place is super clean...well maintained with wimsical touches like the concrete frog fishing.Bonus is the little kayak launch and available kayak rentals to paddle Frog Creek which leads you into a mangrove maze known as Terra Ceia Preserve and ultimitly to Tampa Bay. Yes you can fish here...and many places are not accessible by boat which keeps it all peaceful.Magnificent centuries old oak trees form a nice shaded canopy over the campgrounc
Aug 03, 2024 · KC HicksWe only spent time in the park while visiting friends who live here. All residents were very friendly to us during the time we did visit.
