Grater RV Hideaway Cove appears to be an ideal choice for those seeking a relaxing and well-cared-for RV camping experience close to local attractions and amenities.
The environment of Grater RV Hideaway Cove is described as a "little slice of paradise" by one enthusiastic reviewer, indicating a well-kept and aesthetically pleasing setting. Despite being located just a couple of blocks off Hwy 98 and situated within a neighborhood, the entire campground is completely fenced in, creating a sense of privacy and seclusion, making you feel like you're in "your own little world." The landscaping is consistently praised as "impeccable," suggesting a high level of attention to detail in maintaining the grounds. Adding to the quaint and homey feel are "little creature statues in the trees and on the fences throughout," contributing a unique and charming touch to the environment. While not a sprawling natural wilderness, Grater RV Hideaway Cove offers a meticulously curated and peaceful outdoor living space for RV travelers. Its proximity to both natural attractions (beaches) and urban conveniences (shopping, dining) provides a balanced environment for a comfortable stay.
While the reviews mention that there are "no real amenities as of yet" in the traditional campground sense (like a bathhouse or laundry on-site), the services offered by the management are clearly a standout feature. Russell, the owner who lives on the property, is consistently lauded for his dedication to maintaining the park in perfect condition and his exceptional customer service. He is described as "super friendly" and "always thinking of how he can make your stay better." The fact that he is constantly working on improvements suggests a commitment to enhancing the guest experience. While on-site amenities might be limited currently, the location provides convenient access to essential services nearby. Within a short distance, you'll find a Publix and Walmart for groceries and supplies, as well as a laundromat for laundry needs, a Yummy Hibachi Restaurant for dining, Murphy’s Vet for pet care, and a donut shop for a quick treat. This proximity to off-site services compensates for the potential lack of extensive on-site amenities.
The features of Grater RV Hideaway Cove are particularly noteworthy. The RV sites are described as "HUGE," providing ample space for maneuvering and setting up. A significant feature highlighted by one reviewer who stayed at site #9 is the "complete privacy with a fenced-in backyard!" This level of privacy is a rare and highly desirable feature in an RV park. While not all sites may have this exact configuration, the reviewer specifically mentioned that sites #9, #8, #7 & #5 were their favorites, suggesting that these might offer similar or other unique advantages. The campground is also described as constantly improving, with plans currently underway to add a fire pit and socializing area, which will enhance the communal aspect of the park. The well-maintained grounds, with "not a blade of grass out of place," indicate a commitment to cleanliness and aesthetics. For pet owners, while there isn't an on-site dog park, a "great dog park about 8 miles away called Liza Jackson Dog Park" is recommended, featuring fenced areas for different sized dogs and an off-leash beach area, making it a significant draw for those traveling with canine companions.
The reviews consistently emphasize the quiet and relaxing atmosphere of Grater RV Hideaway Cove, making it an ideal "spot to relax and chill out." The fact that it's tucked away from the main highway within a neighborhood yet feels completely private due to the fencing contributes to this sense of tranquility. The meticulous landscaping and charming decorative touches further enhance the peaceful ambiance. While the proximity to nearby beaches (approximately 6 miles to Navarre Beach and Okaloosa Island Beach) offers opportunities for recreation and exploration, the campground itself seems to be designed as a serene retreat for RVers. The ongoing improvements, such as the planned fire pit and socializing area, indicate a desire to create a balance between private relaxation and community interaction.
Promotional information for Grater RV Hideaway Cove is not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. To inquire about any potential discounts for local residents, extended stays, or seasonal offers, it would be best to contact them directly at the provided phone numbers. Grater RV Hideaway Cove Reviews
Highly recommend this small, family owned, RV park! Approx. 6 miles to Navarre Beach and Okaloosa Island Beach. Publix and Walmart nearby, as well as a laundromat, Yummy Hibachi Restaurant, Murphy’s Vet, and Donut Shop.
Jul 16, 2024 · LoriWe absolutely LOVED this place! There's not a blade of grass out of place here and the sites are HUGE! Russell, the owner, lives on property and all day long he's working on keeping this little slice of paradise absolutely perfect. One of the best campground managers we've ever run into. Super friendly, and always thinking of how he can make your stay better. They are constantly improving this new campground, and are currently in the works to add a fire pit and socializing area. We stayed in site #9, and it's one of the best sites we've ever had. Complete privacy with a fenced in back yard! All the sites are great, but our favorites were #9, #8, #7 & #5.This property is just a couple blocks off Hwy 98 and is located in the middle of a neighborhood. But you'd never know it as the entire campground is completely fenced in and seems like your in your own little world. The landscaping is impeccable and there are little creature statues in the trees and on the fences throughout, making it feel so quaint and homey. No real amenities as of yet, but if you're looking for a spot to relax and chill out, this is it. We also found a great dog park about 8 miles away called Liza Jackson Dog Park, which has 2 fenced in areas for large and small dogs, and the most magnificent off leash beach area for tossing frisbees and balls into the water. This was our Golden Retriever's favorite park of all time, and he's been to A LOT!
Feb 13, 2024 · Bryan TurtleAmazing camp host! Camp site is very clean & well maintained. Excited to see what else they do with it in the future! Camp host was very helpful and lives on site for any of your questions or needs. We can’t wait to come back! Site is perfectly located to everything you need from Navarre to Fort Walton to Destin.
Jun 15, 2024 · Casey MillerBeautiful, clean, and quiet campground. Close to Navarre, Ft. Walton, and Destin. The host/owners are very accommodating and are accessible quickly for any needs that arise. I highly recommend for your next beach trip.
Jun 15, 2024 · Carly DeytonWe are currently staying at Grater’s, arrived on Tuesday and staying until Memorial Day. This is by far one of the nicest and cleanest RV park we have been in. Russell, the host, is very kind and helpful. The park is tucked away in a neighborhood and he met us at the end of the street so we could follow him back. The sites are huge with gravel parking and the park is nicely decorated. It’s about equal distance to both Navarre beach and Ft Walton beach. We are enjoying our stay and will definitely be back!!
