Had a great time camping here. Only stayed 2 nights out of the 5 days I paid for due to the fire ban going into effect but still had a nice time. Very quiet and relaxing here. The camp host was great. He does an excellent job of keeping the bathrooms and Campground spotless. We camped at site #10 with nice river access right on the Salmon River. This river is excellent for swimming and relaxing in. Excellent hiking trails that start right from camp too. - James A

The Natural Environment of Green Canyon Campground

Green Canyon Campground is situated along the East Salmon River Road near Welches, Oregon, placing it within the scenic Mount Hood National Forest region. This area is characterized by lush forests, the pristine Salmon River, and mountainous terrain. Campers can expect to be surrounded by towering trees, the soothing sounds of the flowing river, and the fresh, clean air of the Pacific Northwest. The environment offers a natural escape from urban life, with opportunities for wildlife observation and immersion in a forested setting.

The Salmon River itself is a prominent feature, described as excellent for swimming and relaxing. Its clear waters likely provide a refreshing respite during the summer. The riverbanks may offer spots for picnicking or simply enjoying the natural beauty.
